    This video should be Wagners instructional video, you have absolutely outdone yourself with the explanation and tricks/settings. I bought this sprayer a few years ago used it a few times and haven’t used it since, this video has inspired me to get back to using it and use the info to get the results I was trying to get. Well done 👍

    One thing I learned about my Flexio-5000, when using a glossier sheen such as satin or semigloss, it is best to use a higher material flow and power. To achieve a glossier finish, there needs to be a “wetter” application of the droplets so they can merge together into a wet layer. If too little paint is sprayed, the finish will have less sheen because the paint droplets dry before they merge together.

    Having made a middle-range mess of my first use of the Flexio 590 yesterday (even after reading the manual carefully), I remembered seeing your more down-to-earth approach and explanation a while ago. Cue frantic search back through TH-cam history and subscription lists. After watching your informative vid, the second attempt with Flexio (concluded just now) was achieved with a hugely better finish and WAY less mess. I thank you, ma’am, and my now freshly painted verandah balusters thank you!

    I think this is the first instructional video for a Wagner Paint sprayer I have seen where there is actually a bit of paint on the sprayer before you started!! Gives me confidence you might have actually used the sprayer before and we are not just hearing a sales pitch. Great video. Thanks for making it. I am getting ready to paint my son's room using the same model of sprayer so I was keen to see how not to mess it up!

    Fantastic video and very useful. I've spray painted a lot in the past and your explanations are very logical and well done. The only thing i would add is that avoid spraying with cold paint as this can cause splattering and overspray too. Keep the paint indoors overnight before it's used and stir well before use. Using a paint strainer to sieve the paint too will help prevent nozzle clogs and splattering. Great video though.

    I just did everything in that video, because I too was disappointed with what the manual said I should do and the results I got, and it worked like a charm.
    I would add, which I’m not a painter by far so it probably doesn’t need to be added for most people, that the further you are away from what your painting the bigger the paint droplets are even after watering it down.

    The process you went through is excellent. It's basically a tutorial on the scientific method where you have several variables and you hold them all constant to change only one of them. Great! But,...
    At 4:11 you say that thinning the paint is the easiest thing to adjust. To me, the easiest thing to adjust is the external, numbered, dials under your fingers. The hardest thing to adjust is the dilution. I would much rather change anything but the dilution first, because you cannot measure dilution. Having said that, Wagner has made a huge step forward with their little dilution stick.
    Regarding the science of dilution, it does not make the particles smaller. The particles remain the same size. What changes is the viscosity of the paint. Without getting into the science of how the suction is created, by adding water you change the viscosity from something like molasses to something like milk. That makes it easier for the suction bits to suck the paint up out of the pot and through the nozzle. It is easier to suck milk through a straw than to suck molasses through a straw.

    Great video. I'm awed by the fact that you fit so much information into 10 minutes. I love your voice and your accent! Your presentation skills are excellent and your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm spraying doors for a kitchen cabinet refinishing project and your video has given me a great start.

    I just bought the 4000 model for ceilings and walls. I was told not to water my paint down, but I’m happy I found your video and will be trying it out, I believe this week. Thank you, now I at least know how the settings work. Look forward to watching some of your other videos.

    Great video. Since they advertise no need to thin the material you should make a video changing settings without thinning more of a let's see what happens kind of experiment. I think that would be very helpful info I'm sure others would agree

    • @davidperry4013
      @davidperry4013 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some paints don’t need thinning and other paints do.
