To answer your question, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has obstructed progress on confronting Trump's behavior based on the right-wing extremist GOP refusal to relinquish power because they want to take down democracy. twitter was never a platform for reasoned discourse. As you have long seen, it's advantageous for unreasoned propaganda. Far too easily weaponizable, it is essentially perfect for Goebbels-like incendiary falsehood. The platform need to be banned entirely, or at least removed from the hands of individuals with "followers." There were limited exceptions for the US Constitutional dictum of "free speech; that which promotes violence is one. But rhetoric is NOT synonymous with fact, and falsehoods widely promoted without constraint DO require significant protections against presentation as fact. Libel laws are insufficient to accomplish this dire need, and it remains essential to create hard boundaries between fiction and fact in EVERY medium of communication.

Thanks Richard for gathering the best minds on Trump's mental health and lack there of. You all seem to agree! Trump is a narcissist and is dangerous! I look forward to more.
The story of Narcissus is a myth. It is not a case study of anyone. Narcissus is the son of the river god Cephissus and the nymph Liriope. Narcissus is about vanity not mental illness unless every human failing is a mental illness in which case we are all sick according your the "experts". And they can make a lot of money promoting this fantasy. And they do. Narcissism is a made up condition. It is hate speech created by people who want to control everyone.
@@NewOrleansSeptember Narcissism in the form of vanity, does indeed accurately describe trump's obsession with his own image. It is trump's vanity which compels him to reflexively call any unflattering report on his failures "fake news" It is trump's vanity which impels his calling questions that prick his ego and the journalists who ask them in the public interest "nasty" regardless of their necessity. It is indeed his vanity in combination with his utter lack of hindsight and foresight that results in his perpetual battle with the story of the moment, using any lie that he thinks appropriate. He is not the mythic Titan, Prometheus who was both gifted and cursed by his foresight. Nor is he Prometheus' mythic brother Epimetheus who could only bemoan his lack of foresight, and the calamities which would befall him because Trump doesn't possess any introspective ability. He cannot learn from his mistakes because he will always find someone else to blame, and deny his efforts contributed to them. It is his vanity that prevents him accepting the necessary information from experts that would enable him to make decisions and plans for imminent situations like the COVID-19 crisis. Trump is the ultimate "shallow man" who only sees himself through the eyes of sycophants. The experts have commented on this malady and all agree he is dangerous.
@@mythokratis Where is your objective test for so called narcissism? You claim to be making a medical evaluation so where is the objective test for narcissism? You have none. Everyone is obsessed with their own image and is the reason people buy new clothes, get their hair cut, dye their hair, engage in weight loss, etc. So your definition, a completely subjective definition made up in the minds of the people who engage in the social science of psychology. Psychology is not a medical science. CNN goes to great lengths to make itself look good when it does poor reporting. You simply are not making proper comparative judgments. You and these so called experts are tying to take normal human behavior and turn it into a sickness. Your defense of the media who attacks Trump relentlessly shows you simply hate Trump and are trying to use a bogus medical condition to do it with. Lack of hindsight and foresight? That is simply an opinion of yours. Nothing else. That is a personal judgement being made out of your emotional hatred of Trump. He cannot learn from his mistakes? Who are you to make that kind of an evaluation. Learn from their mistakes? How about Congress who said Trump conspired with the Russians and got a major investigation to take down Trump and have insisted they were right even when the investigation said it didn't happen. Then they pursued other avenues to achieve the same goal and failed. And insisted more impeachments of Trump could occur. Clearly these people don't learn from their mistakes. The necessary plans for Covid 19 have been made. I heard Dr. Fauci say so at a press conference with Trump. Guess you don't keep up with the facts. There is nothing set up to deal with any situation that is novel in any society. You people who think someone can snap their fingers and change things are the irrational ones. But you are convinced of your own self righteousness. Clearly a sign of extreme vanity on your part. So i guess you are narcissistic by your own definition.
@@mythokratis The story of Narcissus is a myth. Narcissus never existed. The story of Narcissus is not a case study. Narcissus is the child of the river god Chephissus and the nymph Liriope. So you and these experts have a condition based on fantasy. If you want to take this to its logical conclusion, the so called experts can take any Greek myth detailing human foibles and turn it into a mental illness. Now that is crazy. The story of Narcissus has nothing to do with mental illness. The use of the Greek myth Narcissus to make up this so called mental illness is a dangerous precedent. Of course I know you are not familiar with the story of Narcissus or you would know how ridiculous it is to try to make a mental illness out of it. I have written a book detailing this issue as well as the use of Oedipus Rex for the so called Oedipus Complex. Freud used four lines from Oedipus Rex to claim every male, every male desires to have sex with his mother. But where are the other examples in literature to prove this. There are none. If this was a univeral condition it would be a theme in literary history that would be seen over and over again. And its not. I was a literature major and have studied these particular conditions based on literature. And let me give you another one. The earliest known story of multiple personality in literary history is the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There is nothing prior, not in Shakespeare, the Greeks, the Romans, the Bible, nor personal journals. However you will find every other kind of illness in the literature from history. And the word disassociative they use to now label multiple personality is not a psychological term but a science fiction concept as the word disassociative comes from the science fiction novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to explain the separation of the minds of Jekyll and Hyde. "How, then, were they dissociated?", is the direct quote. Somebody in the field of psychology got this term from a science fiction novella and sold it to the public as a psychological term. They are laughing at all of us, these so called experts. Multiple personality is a hysterical condition which you can see people exhibit if you go see a stage hypnotist. Every single case of multiple personality was "found" thru hypnosis. And I give a number of ways to show multiple personality is made up in my book. Its really not that hard but i spent two years researching all these matters. Narcissism, the Oedipus Complex and multiple personality are all bogus conditions. Its total crap. And my book is being repressed in the U.S. because i prove all these conditions are bogus. And these people treating people for any of these conditions would be liable for monetary damages. If you have a mental illness that is not a real mental illness you can treat someone forever since you can't cure someone of an illness they do not have, but you can convince people they have illnesses they don't have. This is why there must be objective tests as in medical science. Psychology is a social science not a medical science. You just can't claim someone has cancer or diabetes because I say so. But in the social science of psychology they can simply claim someone has a mental illness with no objective test whatsoever. Most of these so called experts are simply old fashioned snake oil salesmen who get rich conning the public. I hope you learned something.
I don't have the energy to listen to all of this because WE ALL KNOW HIS PROBLEMS. HOW ABOUT LIVING IN THE SOLUTION? SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING.

(Category, Entertainment?) Very disappointing. As D Glenn suggested, the poor technical quality of the video ruins any semblance of professionalism. From the very beginning, the camera close-up gave me the feeling this was a basement production and not to be taken seriously. Then people who were introduced were mysteriously missing? What was that about? I was expecting a panel discussion, not to be read to (and in some cases, that didn't go well). Maybe those reports are available online, so I can read them myself? You know that has to be part of the problem surely.
I would also appreciate more discussion about not only why his followers continue to support him, but why other stakeholders, like news services, continue to project his behavior without contextualizing it.
Good lord blah blah blah - heard it a million times beep beep boop bop. Return Painter to the nearest circus, no questions asked
Excellent and critical information. Thank you. Now, how do you explain the behavior of the GOP? They have been JUST as destructive.
So your criticism is really based on political ideology. Psychology is a social science, not a medical science. Look it up.
To answer your question, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has obstructed progress on confronting Trump's behavior based on the right-wing extremist GOP refusal to relinquish power because they want to take down democracy. Trump serves their interest. Their actions prove that. It's all about their god, money and power.
@@lisamay3609 You are a fanatic who talks gibberish. Everything you say simply proves you want political power and don't like it when you can't control the electorate.

I was a HS Freshman during Missile Crisis in classes for gifted kids so dangerous world situation was discussed. I am now a grandma alone in my condo, well but horribly worried ab. grandkids. I early on compared TRUMP to Hitler but shot down on Twitter.
twitter was never a platform for reasoned discourse. As you have long seen, it's advantageous for unreasoned propaganda. Far too easily weaponizable, it is essentially perfect for Goebbels-like incendiary falsehood.
The platform need to be banned entirely, or at least removed from the hands of individuals with "followers."
There were limited exceptions for the US Constitutional dictum of "free speech; that which promotes violence is one.
You were right Christine. He is like Hitler. He was stopped eventually and this dictator will be stopped too. Take comfort in your grandchildren and family. Call or write them or Skype.
@@briseboy Anything in that constitution about an incompetent President endangering, you..the people?
Oh, I agree. I have friends, as well as myself, who see comparisons to Hitler and other dictators. I know you worry about your grandkids. I hope the remain well, and you too. I'll help you throw snowballs, if anyone attacks you now. (Do you know about Trump throwing the rocks at the toddler in the playpen?)
@@NewOrleansSeptember
Narcissism in the form of vanity, does indeed accurately describe trump's obsession with his own image.
It is trump's vanity which compels him to reflexively call any unflattering report on his failures "fake news"
It is trump's vanity which impels his calling questions that prick his ego and the journalists who ask them in the public interest "nasty" regardless of their necessity.

I would suggest to you guys, maybe get in touch with someone with experience in video production if you can. You must have contacts In your country, or Canada, Europe, America etc. I think there will be people on lockdown right now who are not currently working, who might be able to volunteer their services to help you. Not for money, just because I think we'd all like to help you if we could. Outside of the US might be even better - we've been watching on with absolute horror and fear for you, and we know Trump is very dangerous to the whole world. Plus we are not bound by fear of what effect it might have on an American job, nor are we bound by US partisan politics. x

Mr. Painter please consider using SKYPE vs Zoom.
I’ve never ever seen a sadder pack of harpies in all my life.
I'd appreciate that. I consider this topic the most important facing America today. This man's sickness is actually killing Americans. The official count is nearing 10,000, but the CDC says they know it's more. Please do over. The public must be warned. (Please ask Dr Justin Frank and Dr Bandy Lee for input on the Goldwater Rule). Thank you all for your participation. I apologize for being so negative, but Richard asked for comments.
Hey, most academics aren't show persons.
In actuality, this demonstrates its credibility. Infotainment is slickly packaged to be bright and shiny. The grassroots efforts needed to be able to get donations so they can hire good a good graphics team costs money so the more you help them get heard the sooner they can get packaged glamorously. By then, though, Trump may very well have killed us all, so there's that. Share and help get this out there. Also please remember that we are all impacted by social distancing so all that slick infotainment style is no longer doable and we are all having to work with what we have. Learn to embrace it and advocate for the truth... over the shiny.
