I've been saying this for years! He speaks in the same manner I gave oral book reports to my class in 4th grade. One of the key components is saying the same sentence twice in the same paragraph. This is used to fill up the page with words and the fact that I had nothing else to offer as a 4th grader. And yet his supporters accept this along with the stench of impropriety that follows him wherever he goes.

The only people I know who speak with their hands is those who do not know the English language well enough (so foreigners) I knew that was the optimal way of communicating when I was not sure of the foreign language word. Pencil and paper(or stick and dirt) and I could draw it would be even better. Other than that, none of my friends ever did that except maybe to show how big a "box" they needed and in what shape; so visually is easier than saying actual measurements "or how big the fish was that got away".

Casual speech doesn't have to be dumb, so it's not necessarily fair to say that Trump's speech is a sign that America is being dumbed down. That said, Trump has plenty of other qualities (many of which reflected in his speech) which I _do_ think signals a downturn in our societal intelligence. His utter disregard towards accuracy, his joyful dismissal of the artful or complex, his narcissistic ignorance, etc.

What is relatively new is that you now have a president who is a shining example of the results of this dumbing process. W Bush was almost as bad but he had handlers. You're absolutely right. Each time I see him making a speech, or carrying out public duties, I'm reminded of the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes" - and I expect a child to call out from the crowd, shouting "The Emperor's got no clothes!" It doesn't take a genius to see that he was an absolute disaster in the role of President, and didn't help America's relations with the rest of the world. I live in the UK, - we had a similar situation with Boris Johnson - he was another clown not fit for purpose.

He is very consistent and on point with destroying all that 'Obama, the black president' did and in destroying the entire U.S. He is calculated and plotting. He works tirelessly to hide his wrong doing and to spin them into something good. These are not signs of dementia.
I think mentally speaking he's more on the level of a toddler. He behaves like a spoiled child who is used to always getting his way and when he doesn't get his way he'll typically throw a temper tantrum as a spoiled child will do.
