Fun fact: If you Amass with a token doubling effect (like Mondrak) and no Army in play, you actually WILL create two 0/0 Army tokens. However, you'll only get to put the counters on one, so the other will likely die as soon as the Amass ability finishes resolving, unless you have some sort of static ability buffing it (e.g. a zombie lord). You won't have a window to sacrifice it, but it will generate a death trigger if that's something you care about.
Same, all the people who don’t like him because of his voice are really missing out imo. His whole intro spiel on his solo videos does take some getting used to, I admit, but he’s such a lovable guy that I think it’s worth getting past it for sure.
Last time I went to a Magic con in Vegas, I came away with a goal of seeing how the "Commander Clash Live" sauce was made. Didn't even think about it again until leaving on Sunday, as the weekend was too full! You guys are great! Keep it up! Glad you got to get the crew together in person.
This was a great clash! Glad to see you guys having fun, I've been waiting for it since you guys posted the live podcast. Also gerat to see the flourishing friendship between Tomer and Crim :P
A Commander Clash episode that didn't take 2+ hours?! I can hardly believe my eyes! Looked like a good game. Crim really got to play king maker at the end, lol
@@nickchaput219 They also seem to like board wipes more than other groups I watch and simultaneously don't edit the games that heavily. But its still a nice surprise to see a quicker game from them!
Lots of little misplays and mistakes (undestandbly) but one I noticed is Treebeard actually puts counters equal to the life you gained on a Halfling or Treefolk, not just one counter. GG and so fun to see you folks playing in person.
The outro might just be my favourite part, hahah. Conversation flowing on like it always does when the game ends - until Phil remembered it's for a recording, lol.
I hit the like button for the first time because they did commander in person. Great seeing all the energy between them. I know it is hard with how spread out they are. But want to show appreciation.
@@TheTrooper424 Yeah, I think it's funnier with the complaining about it. If they all just went for it all the time, then I think it would be more tiresome. (A very small complaint to be clear, it wouldn't really detract anything from watching them play. )
A neat new thing my lgs did is have a commander league, in which you start with a precon and everyone gets a new booster each week to upgrade their precon, might be a fun idea for a section of a season
Damn, Seth got bamboozled! Kudos to him for holding his word to keep the deal even though it killed him. He really should have made the distinction only if Tomer agreed not to kill him either! He could've threatened to willingly lose to Phil by holding the Bolas activation over Tomer as a defense.
After Phil double block Akiri with a 2/2 and 2/1 shouldn't it have died to combat damage? 57:24 I don't think it ended up mattering in the end since he had 1 white to unequip with the treasure.
At around 9:55 Tomer seems to be drawing from Akiri for the creature that attacked Jace, even though it clearly states 'attack a player' on the commander. Not sure I got this right considering there was also the Mask of Memory, though if I did, I always find it amusing when people don't seem to remember their commanders abilities, the central card of their deck (most of the time). But we all had that happen, I do think they played fine and most importantly, entertaining :)
Am I the only one who thinks the above table view needs to be rotated 180? From the player cams I would think Tomer should be at the top left, and him being bottom right is giving me whiplash. Maybe its just me.
I love this! Live paper games are so fun to watch IMO and u guys smashed it. Wish i saw more treebeard triggers but idk if that would have helped as much, but its very disgusting with all the lifegain u can have
Small bit of feedback, the way that the cameras pointing at people's faces are set up, combined with the orientation of the overhead cam ends up being pretty disorienting for me. I would expect phil and tomer to be on top (in the view of the table) and seth and crim to be on bottom, so it got confusing trying to decipher who's doing what when switching back and forth between the different cameras.
The videographer was probably constrained on where they could put lights and camera on tripod next to a bed in a hotel room where two of the players would have to sit. The videographer probably didn't love having the mic mixer visible on the bed like that either. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do with certain shooting situation. I really appreciated separate mics with little reverb on a remote shoot like this and can give up a lot for that.
Phil won imo - not that my opinion matters all that much. casting something on the way out just screws up the game. Seth being alive would've relieved tension from Tomer, for Phil. Good game, decks got to do their things.
I always love whenever i see someone playing treebeard they always misplay it with not enough counters since they give that many counters to the amount of life gained
On my Frodo and Sam precon, whenever I play Frodo, someone else wraths before it gets back to my turn. So I feel for Seth. But hey, it's functionally a wrath in the command zone.
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" We're LIVE LIVE LIVE ONE NIGHT ONLY! Will Tomer bring a "budget deck" or will Phil's value just be too much? Tune-in to find out!
I think this is the first commander clash where crim didn’t skip thru his turn on accident
The "We have a proffessional studio" cutting to the hotel beds behind them really got me
I dig how Phil keeps his board organized and alligned.
Got to keep them angles at 90° ☝ 📐
Some just shuffle their cards in hand, some tidy up their board
Yes. Neat and tidy!
@@BrewersKitchen It's the Germanic percision lol
Only way to play. It's like my fav part of playing paper commander 😄
I LOVE the energy of all of you in the same room. This is an absolute delight to watch. I hope you all can get together more often.

"Why play paper magic if you don't have card flicking sounds?" I felt so connected to Seth in that moment!
Seth flicking his cards next to his mike... earned my like
Daniel Johnston shirt!
Thanks!
Seth can't get timed out this way!

Petition for WOTC to host Commander Clash Live at Magic Con Vegas 2024!!!
I don't really do anything involving crowds, traveling or events but I think would go to Vegas for Commander Clash Live.
I love this so much! Seeing everyone together is awesome!
I wish we could get a live game with every configuration of the cast!

You guys are great! Keep it up! Glad you got to get the crew together in person.
You can tell they're friends. Game starts, and Seth is immediately trolling Tomer by flicking his cards as close to his mic as possible.
5:53 Phil couldn't cast Dark Prophecy here, right? Stronghold doesn't tap for black.
Oops, you're right. I wish I noticed, could have played Jet Medallion into Crowded Crypt instead but got too greedy to draw more cards 😅
I can’t believe Phil would cheat 😔
@@BrewersKitchen That's the (dis?)advantage of playing in paper!
This was super fun! Looking forward to its return at next Vegas!

It's because they aren't playing on MTGO. The system is really slow

Not having to struggle with a clunky menu and 1000 triggers speeds up the game exponentially
I love that you guys have clearly had hard days and then went for a game in the hotel room.

When phil said "we ballin' I died lmfao
the flash of Seth on the bed just KILLED me XDD amazing guys
Tomer: Does a take back
Tomer 20 seconds later while struggling to shuffle: "I wish this was magic online"
What an upgrade on the quality from last year. Very nice guys!
May be a weird thing to note but hearing Lakey Inspired as the background music makes me so relaxed.
I appreciate the Sol Ring lamp in the background.
Really love finally seeing the worldslayer win! also the famouse jadar deck!
Wow. That is the CLEANEST hotel room four dudes have ever simultaneously been in.
Phil your deck looked so sweet! I need to change my aristocrats list to jadar...very impressed!
Oh it's a blast. People don't want to spend removal to kill Jadar so you just get away with a lot of sacrifice value starting on turn 2/3 🤩
Crim unironically becoming the hero by giving Tomer (The People's Champ) his worldslayer trigger and the WIN.
The card flicking sounds right out the gate! 😂😂😂
It's so fun seeing you guys irl playing a game!
Never seen Ritual of the Machine. Man, what a sweet card!
ironically, a reserve list card after thinking phyrexian tower was one.
I love the in person flicking

Barely made it into the video and Tomer had me lol. “Professional studio”…then switches to a camera two people sitting on a bed. lmao

I like it way more live than webcam
Phil is so organized wow
This is how long a commander clash would be without the regular intro or clunky modo interface!
Where can I get the sleeves Tomer has?
They are officially licensed Cowboy Bebop sleeves produced by Dragonshield but they were a limited print run.

The life total tracking app is called Lifetap, I highly recommend it. Unless this is a cheeky reference :p

Seth is a real one for the Daniel Johnston shirt! 😤
seth tapping his lands in different directions causes me physical pain
Treebeard adds counters equal to the amount of life you gain. Just a heads up Seth.
I wish seth responded to tomer declaring attackers by doing the citadels tap ability and killed tomer before worldslayer happened lol

Are any of you guys going to be at the magic summit?
Crim flexing with the Arby's dice that sold out in like 40 seconds.
Why did Seth not kill Tolmer instead of using Teferi's Protection? He had 4 untapped lannds an could have drain Tolmer for 12 when he was on 11.
Triggers me to no end that Seth has some lands upside down
Dont look at seths upside down lands
This is why we love crim
