      Great to hear from a younger crowd that have the same love for the old cars like I did. I have no doubt that you will own many awesome cars. Thanks for taking the time to check out my story on this one.

    MY MOM AND DAD OWNED A '58 BEL AIR 4 DOOR HARDTOP, NO POST, IT WAS A PRETTY SEAFOAM GREEN AND WHITE, 283, 2 BARREL,
    I TALKED MY DAD INTO DUAL EXHAUST, AND GLASSPACKS, SOUNDED GREAT, LOVED THE BENCH SEATS FOR THE DRIVE IN, JUST ABOUT WORE THEM OUT. YOU ALWAYS LOVE THE 1ST CAR YOU DROVE, WISH I HAD IT NOW. LOTS OF GREAT MEMORIES IN IT.
    I LISTENED TO MORE ELVIS MOVIES IN IT AS I COULDN'T SEE THE SCREEN AS THE WINDOWS FOGGED UP SO EASILY. LOVED IT ANYWAY.

    In my view, 1958 was a great year for GM and Ford. Nice Delray!

    There's something to be said for the safety features, efficiency, and luxuries of today's vehicles. But old vehicles just have so much more character, durability, and a sexiness about them that's missing nowadays.
    The 58 looks awesome!

      Mr. B. Here ! Keep in mind the systems in today’s vehicles will not hold up to test of time ! The systems are like humans they will die ; and the cost to bring them back not going to happen . Keep that in mind on the eggs that SUV’s are !

    Just watched this on my tv. I usually don’t take the time to relax and watch TH-cam anywhere but my phone. I really enjoy seeing real, honest daily drivers. After seeing it at Brian’s donut thing and then this video I see how much you did to it. You should be very proud of your ‘58!
    Take care! Hope to run into you again sometime. ✌️😎

    Loving the 58! Looks great! what a find!!
    I found guy selling 2 Bel Air sedans for sale near me in 2017. Bought them both for 3K and frame off restored the better one in my garage. Enjoyed it a lot took about 18 months with few months off during hot summer. Full 2 tone metallic paint job, 396BBC 700R4 . Love the style of the 58! i sold the very rough/rusty parts car after i was done taking stainless and the interior out of it for $700. Im "afraid" to drive it because the paint is TOO nice. Nah but it does feel like that sometimes. The work I put into the paint and body work was no joke. I dont want to do it again. 😅

    Looks great. My aunt and uncle had one way back when. I remember riding in it one time around 1967/68. Sitting in the back seat, you could look down at the floor and see the road through a hole. It was pretty good-sized. As a young kid, I'd never seen that before. To top it off, this was in California, and the car was 9 or 10 years old at the time. Right after that, they bought a slightly used, I think. I don't think it was brand new, but close, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala 4 door hard top. Might have been a Caprice, but I was six years old at the time, so I remember the car itself. White with a black vinyl top. It was a beautiful car. I'm not sure what happened to that because in 1971, they bought a new Plymouth Duster. If I remember correctly, it was a Valiant Duster. I'm not sure if they traded the Chevy or bought this as a second car. Right after that, they divorced, and my aunt drove the Duster until 1975 when my cousin decided to roll it off a cliff.

      Love the '58. Sorry I didn't look close enough...forgive the Biscayne insult, please 😔. In my misspent youth I had a 283 in a'62 Impala SS. Put a Corvette cam and solids with a bigger 4bbl and some head work. It was a screamer. Out ran an Olds 442. That guy never believed it was a 283 because I had 327 flags on the fenders. Keep on rockin. Old iron is cool.

      I am 78 yrs and have become much slower than I remember 😔.
      I get under the car...then need another wrench and takes forever to get out, upright and back under. I have been working on a '48 Chevy Coupe for 8 yrs!!! Going to be stock body with 350/350, PS, PDB, LOKAR Shifter. All new glass. Going to be flat black maybe with a little pinstripe or accent striped. We'll see. I have to finish up the power rack stuff then do rear seat and door panel upholstery. Using leather buckets from a Lincoln navigator. I am learning to weld. If you don't weld my advice is to buy a decent MIG setup and develop the skills. If you want inspiration watch Halfhass Customs on UTUBE. He's my hero.

    • @undergroundcreations417
      @undergroundcreations417  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's awesome that you're still building and doing what you love to do. I use an Eastwood 140 mig welder. Luckily I didn't have to do any welding on the 58. I built a few other cars that are on my channel as well. I'm currently working on a 30 Model A and a 48 dodge gasser. I'm familiar with half-assed kustoms and I also enjoy his channel. I hope I'm still building hot rods at your age. Thank you for taking the time to share your story. It makes filming these videos worth while.
