I can easily see CL65 invoice being aroung 8-10k here. $750 for a driveshaft change incl. labour on a 22k luxury SUV? That's next to free. I can easily see an MB dealer asking 10x the price. Same with the motor mounts... like just the labour to have them removed would be 2000 EUR at least here. Since I started watching Hoovie and the Wizard, I have bought two field finds. I am fixing what I can and have my own Wizard for everything else. Hoovie, You are a bad influence.
And let’s not forget, Hoovie keeps the Ninja busy also, in addition to the Wizard. I tell you which one I would take out of all those, I’d take that conversion van. Flashbacks to childhood, there.
Ya I love how Tyler acts like he's devastated at the bills but he loves buying junk cars and spending thousands to fix them up even though he can afford brand new supercars.
Yep.. I have a 2000 G 500 and the engine is exactly the same. Serviced by a Mercedes specialist who work on a number of them. That’s the way they are.. at an angle
What is a good site for finding salvaged parts? I have a 2005 G500, the tail door is rusting and it will need to be replaced. I also need a new running board
The engine had to be mounted on a slant due to the placement of the AC compressor on the 113 motors. It’s referenced in the intro to service manual and was addressed in both service and sales training.
The slant on that type of motor is fine, designed like that for those years.....issues will be vacuum leaks, 4 O2 sensors that always have issues, diff locks sometimes dont disengage, door lock inside springs breaking....but not much more else......its a tank
If you are looking to lift it, look into the Mercedes Unimog Portal axles. That’s what they did on the G500 4x4^2 (squared) and the g650 Landaulet. It raises the axle clearance instead of just the body clearance. They’re pricey but they seem to raise the resale value too.
*Hoovie playing his theme music “this is my absolute favourite song” *Wizzzzard seeing $$$$$ every time it plays “mine too.... I could listen to it all day”
I'd say some one quick swapped that engine and sold the car off. Make sure that is a good engine, it might just be enough to sell the car last a few hundred miles before it blows again.
Arent they pretty bulletproof engines? I suppose they should test the oil and crack open the valve covers at the least to get a view of its general health

Wizard: "I like to get paiiidddddd sonnnnnn."
Expensive day but once that g wagon is fixed, you’ll be able to recover the cost. The g wagon fixed has to be worth 37k
And let’s not forget, Hoovie keeps the Ninja busy also, in addition to the Wizard. I know he does well enough from this channel to afford it, but it sure is fun listening to him whimper like us regular guys do when hit with the bill. That part made me laugh. I tell you which one I would take out of all those, I’d take that conversion van. Flashbacks to childhood, there.
Ya I love how Tyler acts like he's devastated at the bills but he loves buying junk cars and spending thousands to fix them up even though he can afford brand new supercars.
I have to agree. That van is beautiful. I'd so want to do a cross-country road trip in that, just to say it did it, and in style.
those engines are put in like that from the factory
yep, supposed to be tilted , needs space for the steering system
Old one's...
Yep.. I have a 2000 G 500 and the engine is exactly the same. Serviced by a Mercedes specialist who work on a number of them. That’s the way they are.. at an angle
You just saved this guy a lot of money😂😂
Needs some loctite or some washers to cinch up the bolts
The wizard's face in the thumbnail is priceless
wizard gonna be in a purple and gold pinstripe suite sittin behind a cocobolo desk writing w/ his teak fountain pen next time hoovie show up.
What is a good site for finding salvaged parts? I have a 2005 G500, the tail door is rusting and it will need to be replaced. I also need a new running board
The Scream isn't by van Gogh, it's by Edvard Munch. It did however have Gogh's Starry Night in place of the original sky.
I saw that too. Must be twice as expensive then, huh? ;)
Maybe wizard stick to fixing cars....
They collaborated like snoop and dre
Are you saying it's a fake?! OMG, warn the Wizard before he buys it!!
It pretty much is a "Van Goo" painting...the Wizard had that exactly right.
*The perfect election distraction we all need*
No kidding
Omg yes
Amen lol
Not me. I won't encourage them, so I don't vote.
Im not even from the us and the only news in my country is from your election...
Tyler be like “oh no“
Wizard be like “oh yes“
Junior mint be like “I’m going to college!!”
Elite Hoovie & Wizard here.. Best of the year!
"Three inches is always the optimum amount I guess for some people"

Wizards needs to use the 7k to fix his office ceiling 😂
12 in Scottsdale??! Come to Glendale, CA and you would see one in every corner
in LA you get to see one every 6 feet intervals
Every Armo's dream car lol
I see 4-5 everyday in Scottsdale
Thats a weird flex
The engine had to be mounted on a slant due to the placement of the AC compressor on the 113 motors. It’s referenced in the intro to service manual and was addressed in both service and sales training.
The slant on that type of motor is fine, designed like that for those years.....issues will be vacuum leaks, 4 O2 sensors that always have issues, diff locks sometimes dont disengage, door lock inside springs breaking....but not much more else......its a tank
The f’ing door handles on the inside. Have already replaced them 3 times. People/friend break them.
Don’t let people open the doors from the inside
If you are looking to lift it, look into the Mercedes Unimog Portal axles. That’s what they did on the G500 4x4^2 (squared) and the g650 Landaulet. It raises the axle clearance instead of just the body clearance. They’re pricey but they seem to raise the resale value too.
20k kits now 😂😢
*Hoovie playing his theme music “this is my absolute favourite song”
*Wizzzzard seeing $$$$$ every time it plays “mine too.... I could listen to it all day”
I love the Wizard: that's not Scottsdale certified!! 😆😂🤙
That Hoovie's Garage theme song gets stuck on my Brain for days and I can't getitoutofmy head !!!!!!

chec the 4 wheel drive system there is a good chance the pressure actuatores and valves on the axles are clogged or damaged from lack of use.
No those things don't blow up just like that...they are very good
@@NuclearPineapple for the most part the M113 is probably one of the single most reliable Mercedes motors I can think of. I have seen 300+K miles on original motors with average maintenance. They may leak a bit eventually, but it'll run forever. Until one of the electronic accessories break and end up totaling the vehicle.
@@FappinSteve He said 300k miles, not kilometres.
@@FappinSteve I mean 300,000 miles the K as in thousand.
Hoovie licenses one song, insists on maximizing his ROI, listens to nothing else 🤣
That's a free song from the TH-cam audio library

I live in Scottsdale. He's not kidding. G Wagons everywhere.
Why is that a thing?
Yep. They were everywhere when I lived there. Once had one in front of me and two behind me going through a Dairy Queen drive thru

Hoodie your show is the best if you ever want to give or sell that G wagon for cheap to a single father who is out here trying his best to get a car but it’s hard to pay bills on-time let alone save up for a car during this-pandemic but if you ever get rid of it please keep me & my family & in mind ... thanx Hoovie & keep up the great work & GOD bless you & your family
So many people would love to have a mechanic pal like the Wizard. I'm jealous of you two guys!
Hoovie has a problem with buying cars from Stuttgart with engine troubles.
I'm sure I can hear Munich clearing it's throat somewhere...
I guess we blame the Austrians from Graz for the Geländewagen. 🤣🤣
@@cullenmiller8170 NEIN!
Sorry, but that’s not correct. He has absolutely no problem with buying cars from Stuttgart with engine troubles. He’s bought LOADS!!!
@@martinkk2943 Ja doch. Die Burschen in Graz hatten zu viel Kirschwasser oder Enzianschnaps. I wish Mercedes would have sold a basic G-Model over here. Diesel engine and manual transmission instead of the fully loaded version. I guess they thought they had a market with the Chelsea tractor.

Tyler, I'm gonna play Safety Salley here just because we all love you so much. For the love of Pete, by a trailer or have the new hoopties trucked to the Wizard BEFORE you drive them over 20 mph. You're a smart guy with children . . . need I say more? Thanks this is gonna be a great hooptie to follow! What a bargain (with wizard help).
The single reason I love both Hoovie and the Wizard : both laughing away at the end of the video.
The wizard has come so far from his humble beginnings! Love it!!!
I'm having so much anxiety thinking how many cars hoovie owns & they're not even mine lol
Yeah idk which hoodie owns cars
Pretty much every G500/g55 I’ve seen has the slanted engine. I’m pretty sure it’s by design.

at first I thought, 'hang on a minute- The Scream is by Edvard Munch'....then I realised that particular picture's been combined with Starry Night by Van Gogh
Good catch. The Scream on a Starry Night.
This Mercedes is like this because the previous owner didn't have enough money to fix it. He didn't pay enough for the mechanic so the mechanic didn't give a crap either.
No he bought a new one & this one Craigslist
So much awesomeness!!!!! Could you tell me what bluetooth unit was used on the woody? I need one for my rambler!
I love the end of these videos when it all gets added up. Makes me not feel so bad about my own car addiction problem!
