I love watching this video. I rescued my grey when he was 5 years old in terrible condition and had very few feathers. With lots of love and attention and correct feeding he blossomed and became a very loving pet, fully interactive and spoke just like Gizmo. After a very short illness he died in December 2022 aged 32 years. We had him for 28 years and was the most loved member of the family. We miss him dearly and watching Gizmo reminds me of my beloved Teddy. TI wish you years of joy with him. Thank you. Margaret xx

I know "Apollo" is TH-cam's favorite, and absolutely I don't dismiss the effort put into the training, but there's something so beautiful about Gizmo's story. And I'm a pessimistic, snarky kind of personality myself, so Gizmo resonates way more with me on a soul level. This story is so wonderful, and I can't stop seeing this bird being loved and appreciated! It gives me a little bit of hope in some ways.
I call the day I got my rescue the day she "came home". Obviously, Gizmo could have been in a much better situation, but apparently he DID learn some words, so at least someone was interacting with him and talking to him all those years. It is heartbreaking to think of all the parrots who are acquired for the wrong reasons by people who do not understand what a HUGE responsibility they are taking on. These videos and others help to educate people about how wonderful parrot companions can be and also to caution people, and hopefully prepare them to do their homework before bringing one of these amazing companions into their home. The parrots thank you!
I started balling near the end because I can see how much happier he is compared to the very beginning. Giz knows you guys love him and its clear he loves you in return ❤

Giz has made such great strides with his new family. I love the bond he has with Emily. My Jengo is 22 and has always been with us. We are in the process of building better communication now that we know more about how birds think. I am just amazed at how smart they are. ❤
