This is the person I am ♥️ Once animal rescue gives up, I and my partner jump in and catch them. I emailed you before about a duck that was extremely difficult to catch. I know you’re busy so it’s okay ♥️ It took me a month and a half, but we caught all the injured ducks in a 30-50 duck flock.
This dude is literally a saint. But the saddest part is, geese mate for life and are known to become depressed when they lose part of their family or their mate.
Well luckily Egyptian geese are actually a species of duck and they arent known to mate for life or be as attached to their mates as true geese. He will most likely be fine but could be hard for him to find a new mate, this isnt their natural range and it was probably a pair someone released at the park.
@@hsjdndd6081 I actually see these birds everywhere in and around canals in big cities in The Netherlands. There is a bonded pair in the canal near my house in The Hague, the two of them constantly foraging together. Very sweet. Hope they'll have chicks again this spring.

I felt so bad for the dad, I almost cried when I saw his reaction when seeing the chicks. I guess when he saw you were taking care of them, he went for freedom. Maybe because he was trying to look for a new family, but animals dont have much understanding so i dont know. Atleast you saved them Edit: This was a long time ago, so sorry if i got things wrong!
He was in a confined space, that most likely stressed him out, and since most bird species have the mother take care of the babies while the father scavenges food for them, he doesnt have the instinct to know how to take care of them. Its sad but thats nature for ya
He came back for his kids and that was how he got captured. Someone wrote in the comments how the father probably sensed his kids were going to be ok without him, and left to do his wild animal thing.
I loved how he was faithful and protective, but im so sad he basically abandoned them at the end, maybe he trusted them enough with him to leave, whatever the reason, im glad everyone is happy
Probably he was only standing alone on the ice for his wife caught under the ice. ... and he went to seek her again. That sounds logical. But, I dont want to think about it more either...,
The fact that geese are mate for life made my heart break already at the 10th second... I'm so happy the little chicks got a chance at life because of you! Thank you so so so much :)
They mate for life, but if one of the two dies, they find a new mate after a while. Not saying it's not sad, but the survivind goose will not stay grieving for the rest of his life.
I have my own Egyptian goose which I adopted from a farmer who rescued the only gosling left after two rottweilers killed the siblings, leaving my baby gosling without a family, since her parents were scared off too by those dogs. I was given the gosling to look after as a household addition to our existing family of beloved pets, namely one dog and seven cats. Well, we had a thrilling time looking after such a beautiful creature with an exuberant personality. She is now our keeper, and she protects us in her eyes from bad people and the like. She's full of the joys of life and I'll never look back to being the loving parent of a gorgeous goose like her. So, thank you to helping these Egyptian goslings and may life be so much better for them now, and also for the papa goose, wherever he is. God bless each and every one of these gosling babies, and to you for saving their lives.

I like to think the dad goose maybe knew that you could take care of his babies much better than he could, he witnessed you keeping them warm and feeding them and he probably thought they would be just fine in your care.

This is the person I am ♥️ Once animal rescue gives up, I and my partner jump in and catch them. I emailed you before about a duck that was extremely difficult to catch. I know you’re busy so it’s okay ♥️
It took me a month and a half, but we caught all the injured ducks in a 30-50 duck flock.
This dude is literally a saint. But the saddest part is, geese mate for life and are known to become depressed when they lose part of their family or their mate.
I know
I
Pray he was a young goose snd found a mate
Well luckily Egyptian geese are actually a species of duck and they arent known to mate for life or be as attached to their mates as true geese. He will most likely be fine but could be hard for him to find a new mate, this isnt their natural range and it was probably a pair someone released at the park.
yeah seriously imagine seeing your wife slowly freezing up in ice like han solo in star wars
@@hsjdndd6081 I actually see these birds everywhere in and around canals in big cities in The Netherlands. There is a bonded pair in the canal near my house in The Hague, the two of them constantly foraging together. Very sweet. Hope they'll have chicks again this spring.

I wanna become a member but idk if my family will support that...
I’m also going to become a member, I get paid towards the end of the month. Can you put what date of the month you want the payments to go out?
Wholesome! I'd like to become a member when I'm an adult
I felt so bad for the dad, I almost cried when I saw his reaction when seeing the chicks. I guess when he saw you were taking care of them, he went for freedom. Maybe because he was trying to look for a new family, but animals dont have much understanding so i dont know. Atleast you saved them
Edit: This was a long time ago, so sorry if i got things wrong!
I think he knew the kids was safe, so he left
If a birds nest falls down or the area becomes too dangerous they will leave to start a new family.
@@tmlawson751 He probably thought his kids were screwed and left to start a new family.

“Animal Rescue had already given up.” Pretty much sums up the reason I started doing rescue work in my area. Where I live, I’ve called for help a dozen times, and I’ve been told to do everything myself at the slightest sign of inconvenience to the people who work at the official rescue centers.
I like to think the dad goose maybe knew that you could take care of his babies much better than he could, he witnessed you keeping them warm and feeding them and he probably thought they would be just fine in your care.
"You are the mother now"
That wouldn't surprise me. I have some geese and they surprise me sometimes how intelligent and perceptive they are. They keep a good eye on the ducks. Also, they don't get too offended when I hug them.
I think Dad just give up and tried to start a new family by escaping from his old babies
@@embor4236 That won't happen. Geese are monogamous. If their partner dies, they'll mourn the rest of their lives. He will never have another family.

I’ve always wanted to raise chickens but never pulled the trigger on it. I’m currently unemployed from the pandemic and have a lot of free time. From watching your channel I decided to go to farm supply stores and purchase only the sick ones I knew would die if they didn’t get special attention that I knew the employees didn’t have time to administer.
