- Is the i5 7600k still a good CPU for gaming in late 2019?
We're overclocking the pants off this 4c/4t CPU to see if it can still keep up with modern Triple A Titles. See benchmarks for CPU Z, Cinebench R15, and games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and the brand new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

This chip has great single threaded performance but I think I'd take the Ryzen for the reasons you said at the end! Great job man subscribed!

I am currently using it currently with the rtx 2060 super. It produces a very playable experience but it’s obvious there is a bottle neck. I plan on upgrading to a a Ryzen 7 or 10th gen i7
Sorry for the late response man. Yeah I have a z490 motherboard and the i5 10400. I tried getting my hands on one of the k chips but they were all sold out. I have overclocked the 7600k only once to 4.5GHz with a Cryorig h7(which is an air cooler) the temperatures didn't go above 50 celsius degrees.
I have had this cpu for 3 years with an RX480 8gb.I am thinking about buying a new graphics card,but maybe a newer one would be too much for the 4 cores.
It’s possible but I tested the RX570 against the 1660 and saw a 20% up tick in frames on the 1660 in apex legends. So it’s possible to get more frames don’t let these bigger you tubers fool you the 7600k is no slouch!!! Thanks for the comment man!! DDR4-2133/2400 at Intel Website, but you are using 3000mhz.

So I bought that kit about a month before I made the video. I honestly don’t think it would hurt it. Intel’s ring bus architecture doesn’t rely on fast RAM the way AMD does. At the same time I’ve seen some games run faster when the memory is 3000 MHz over the stock 2133 MHz. I can’t see how it would hurt.

I5 7400 is it a good processor, I saw that it was simmilar to a ryzen 5 1600
It's very similar to the 7600K it's just locked. But I'm a fan of having more cores and that is what Ryzen really has going for it.

You got a 7700K for $170 bucks? Dude that's a great deal. If I was you I would get a decent Air Cooler or AIO and clock that puppy to 5.0 Ghz and you'll be in FPS city!! Dolo the only issue is although it’s the same socket 6th and 7th gen intel work on the same board (z170/z270 etc) and 8th and 9th use z370 and z390. It won’t work. IT SHOULD but intel won’t let it. Greedy bastards!!! Thanks for the comment my dude!!!
Do you think a i5 7600 and a 1660 super will bottleneck? Because i haver a friend that would sell me the i5 7600, a rog strix B250F and 8gb of RAM for 130 and i wanted to buy the 1660 super to go with this config.
No I think that's actually a good combo. I'm sure a 6 or 8 core CPU will push more frames but I think that's a really good combination. Especially since they overclock really easily.
hey, I'm kinda late here but do you know if I'd be able to stream using the i5 7600k, 16gb ram and an rtx 2070? I want to stream league of legends on 1080p/60fps preferably, while playing on 144fps. Do you think that system could handle this?
League of Legends Yeah - bc that game is easy to play and the 2070 is still a beast of a card. You should check out the Windows 10 Debloater tool on Git Hub just too to squeeze out every extra drop of performance.

Dude, I need help. I currently have a i5 7600k and gtx 1060 3gb. I want to be able to stream in 720p if not in 1080p. Will getting a rtx 2060 super enable me to stream in good quality? Is the NVENC(new) good enough?
ArcKeN Hey man yes absolutely let me tell you some thing I sold a system recently if you check out my stream build that I did that 1660 that I put in there was actually my main video card but I recently got a GTX 1070 for 200 bucks that I honestly just wanted to use as content for the channel however I had to sell that stream build now the GTX 1070 is faster in games but the 1660 has the newer touring architecture and the newest NVENC Encoder. And let me tell you when rendering scenes in adobe premiere It’s night and day it’s not even close the encoder in the 1660 is way better than the 1070. So getting an RTX 2060 Will make your streaming way better I still think the 7600 K especially if you can get it to 4.8 to 5 GHz with a decent tower cooler that would be a really nice streaming set up despite only having 4 cores and four threads.

What do you think pairing i5 7600k with rtx 2070 windforce? Just for playing warzone/pubg would i get decent fps?
You'll def be getting some awesome frame frates, especially if the 7600K is overclocked. War Zone is very taxing on the CPU. Upgrading to a 6 or 8 core CPU would be a great upgrade. As for the 2070 Super, it is a fantastic card, but with news of NVIDIA launching new GPU's later this month, and October I would wait to buy a new touring card, because they will probably be coming down in price big time in the next month or so. I think Black Friday this year is going to have some amazing deals!!!

High ISO - Fifa PS4 get a cheap a320 or B450 mobo and a Ryzen 5 1600AF. But if you have the 7600 already that will be good enough.
7600k is better than those shits, ryzen 5 1600 and 1600af are the worst compare with the 7600k, the 7600k competes with amd ryzen 5 3600, so shut up, 7400 is the same as 1600 and 1600 af

Thanks for the comment man. Well to avoid bottle knecking i used the 1660. I think the 7600k and the 1660 are on the same level. But i do see your point.

That's a really good question. I personally think the i5 7600K can still straight up get down and boogie, especially when you pair it with a decent Tower Cooler or AIO. Hitting 5 Ghz for me was no issues. But the one thing it lacks is Hyper Threading, which most of the times helps but sometimes is a non factor for gaming. But my main point is, you'll get great FPS with that combo, but it newer titles you might get some stutters. Honestly I don't think it's a big deal. My favorite Budget Chip right now is the Ryzen 5 1600AF. Dude I know they are hard to find right now, but for $85, you get 6 cores/12 Threads, 3.2 Ghz Base, with PBO of 3.6 Ghz, I've heard some people getting them to 4.1 Ghz when manually tuned. Now you won't get as high a frequency with that chip as the 7600K, but having more than 4 Cores, you'll notice that games play smoother. Plus for things like editing, or code compilation, 3D work, it's just an absolute amazing value. Thanks for commenting and watching, I really appreciate the support!!!

@@sagatbob7364 Hey man thanks for the support!! It depends, what games do you play the most? Also keep in mind that NVIDIA is putting out new cards this Fall. It's obvious they are doing it to count AMD having GPU's in the new consoles if they do launch, and also AMD has big navi coming as well. But I think NVIDIA cards NEW are the best.

Sagat Bob sorry got side tracked. I got a 1070 for $200 and it’s phenomenal for gaming. If you can find a 1080ti for $400, that card is still one of the best and will be for at least the next year. But when RTX becomes more prevalent in games it just won’t have that feature. I’m prolly gonna wait to upgrade my GPU till the fall when the new RTX cards come out. I game but I edit more than anything, and having a good GPU speeds up my renders. And as you can see from the way I edit, well not this video, but my newer videos. I run a ton of effects and transitions and you need to render all that stuff. Check out some of my newer videos you’ll see what I mean.

Thanks for the comment Artour! So you have two options. I would get the cheapest B250 or H270 board you can find, or Sell your CPU for as much as you can and upgrade to a Ryzen 5, and get a cheap b450 motherboard. The motherboard I used in this build I actually screwed up big time and bent a ton of pins, LOL. It was a nice z270 board too. :( I'm going to try and fix it. I hope this helps. The same prob my mobo pins got bent after I bought it 3 years ago when I'm still building it, but it was still working just fine, but 2 days ago when I turned my pc on it's not showing any display, and the technician said it was probably the mobo because of the pins are bent. Well, it took 3 years before it died so it's fine I think.
I want to sell my Cpu too but it's hard to sell it here coz I live in a province so my only option is to buy a new mobo.
Anyway thanks for the suggestion I guess ill just go for the cheapest ones. I was actually planning to buy the same mobo that died but it's still a Lil bit pricey.

@@artourarmstrong4349 Dude thanks for the support. Since the board is broke anyway, you can't screw it up any worse, so try bending the pins back into place. I know it's hard but try your best you might be able to get it to work. As long as you can seat the chip in and get it to boot, you can use it then and sell it. Hey man. Dude right now is a great time because the Ryzen 5 1600 AF is only 85 bucks. It's a six 6 12 threaded CPU and it rocks. Pair that up with a 1650/1660 Super and you'll have a baller ass system. And the great thing about Ryzen is the AM4 platform will be around for a little while longer, so your upgrade path has so much headroom. I just did a video on the Ryzen 5 1600 AF, you should check it out.
Your system isn't bad...but your about due for an upgrade. The best part is you can sell your existing stuff on ebay to help fund your next build. That's the great thing about PC building. Let me know if you need anymore advice man, i'm always around.

And I did a video where I paired that Pentium with an RX 570, and honestly got some really good results. It also depends on your budget. So you can go a few different ways. What motherboard do you have?

@@mrbubble9618 See I bought a z270 board first, I broke the rules LOL always buy the CPU first. But my plan was to buy the Pentium just to hold me over until I could save enough for the 7600k or the 7700k. You could grab a 6th or 7th gen i5 or i7, but Intel can be really expensive used. That would help temporarily. But I would just save your money, get a Ryzen 5 1600 AF a cheap B450 mobo and a good budget GPU and call it a day. You'll be happier in the long run.

Patrick try 4.8ghz @ 1.25 volts. Got it stable doing a 24 hour stress test. Room temperature is at 28 degree celcius. Using be quiet dark rock 4 air cooler rated at TDP 200 watts. My temperature logs return stable temps of 68 degree celcius after 4 hours. Averaging 63 degree celcius. Frankly I think I got the good chip of the silicon lottery. Try yours and see how it goes. My thermal paste is grizzly krounaut. On a side note this is my profile one which is Low overclock. When I need abit of extra juice during encoding I push it to 5 ghz and max temps is at 69-72 degree celcius max. Living in the tropics climate it probably affected my system to be bit hotter. When in the night time I sleep I on the air condition to 25 degree celcius and queued projects to run encoding till the morning that I wake before going to school. At least that’s what it used to be now my school is also my computer haha. Try it bro to see if you got lucky with your chip
