The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

There is a bible app, and there is also the “blue letter bible” that can help you translate something that is confusing. And the bible project makes good synopsis for chapters after you read each books for more context. Best of luck my dude

IF a claim is about reality, then only IF whatever claims being made are consistent with what is observed of reality can such be considered rationally correct. This immediately dismisses ANY testimonials which entail components which are NOT shown to be aspects of reality.

@@destinfarr You are right about observations if viewed from an individual perspective given mental illness, hallucinations, lies, misunderstanding, misinformation, and various other factors which result in people claiming things which are not true.
However, I am speaking of what can be independently checked without appeal to our cognitive biases, since ideally the process of reconciling the contradictions will address the errors. Thus, IF a claim entails anything that is unknown, it cannot rationally be considered correct.
Our religious texts are the words of humanity ascribed as being something else which even believers should reject given the assault that such entails.
Why would you soil something that you denote as pristine with folly?
It would seem that the best that one could do with religious texts is to use such as lesson material for attempting to be better given the parade of horrors often found in religious texts such as slaughter, slavery, conquest, rape, and more.

Hi Josh..its been 9 months since you posted your comment so its unlikely you will see my response. But in the off chance you do I found your comment to be the most courageous and honest. It tells me you walk thru life by faith...and Im not talking about blind faith Josh.. God has obviously revealed Himself to you in ways and at times that only you and Him share..but what I hear you say is you don't have all the answers in life (no one does) but you trust God does.
Its believers like yourself God uses to do big things. The bible is full of men and women like you doing extraordinary things. Stay the course Josh God is worthy of your trust.

Any claim about reality which is not substantiated as being an aspect of reality is automatically not considered history, but instead is at best belief that has been held which would be history in that sense only.
The Bible has elements which are historical with lots of other aspects being fiction (such as the idea of deities) and falsehoods (such as the Noah's ark tale).
There is no argument that can be considered rationally acceptable with regard to reality IF such argument(s) doesn't have evidence (demonstrable cause/effect linkages) sustaining whatever claim(s).

It's truly interesting because a lot of these questions are already addressed in the scriptures, and in Christ they are moreso than words (The Law) because of the Holy Spirit that has been poured out for us.

Yes as Cliff stated “if you think about it more deeply”. That’s what this poor kid needs to do. It’s so sad, not to mention troubling to know these kids are growing up in homes where no one is teaching them about the greatest man who ever lived - and that that same man was Almighty God - here on earth as a man. Very sad. Also people living for money - wow - no wonder our world is in turmoil.
They need to think more critically, logically and reasonably and if they still come to the conclusion that a god is real then I would like to hear the musings that got them there. --- Its not their fault that they see money as the main goal as this, like religious indoctrination, has been drummed into their heads from a young age that the need to work and study hard to get a good job to provide for themselves etc that having money is seen as some sort of status

The Gospels fall on deaf ears of the hardened heart. People are so bewildered at the idea that they are being judged for things they didn't even mean to do (like blasphemy) because thats normal in society, that they think society is perfect. One of the biggest arguments in my opinion to open someones eyes who is ACTUALLY seeking truth is, "Where in the universe can we observe material coming from immaterial (absolutely nothingness)?" Nowhere. So how did nothing create everything.

A strong believer does receive signs God exists, me and my family have received unexplainable signs from outside our powers , from another dimension....and it is God cos we prayed, and asked and thanked him for the signs. My faith even helped my body heal faster than my doctor expected. 3-4 times faster. On one occasion the chicken pox appeared on my entire back and chest, I saw the doctor and in 2 days they completely disappeared "without " breaking out , without symptoms, my doctor said he had never ever seen chicken pox at age of 42 and was even more astonished that they vanished into nothing.

I was blessed with not caring about getting rich b/c I saw a lot of movies and I. Real life millionaires who weren't happy. I was blessed with a nonchalant attitude so even though I had anger issues I was able to get over it quickly, but I could never obtain w/e it was I was ultimately looking for. Something to make sense of everything. Then after I said God didn't exist and decided to study to find out answers, I found God. It was an extremely scary moment. Still working on it but like Cliff said, it's not blind faith, I have many reasons to believe. Thank you Jesus. I also believe in Jesus b/c he is the only deity who would live with his creations and die for them. Many parents would give their lives for their kids, the ultimate sign of love. So I believe since God is love he would definitely die for us.

When someone comes up to you with that skeptical argument about reality, it is easily defeated.
1) If you (the person with the claim) don't know others exist (which his argument requires is true), Why are you talking to them? Clearly you think it more likely they do exist by your actions. You don't believe what you bring up as real. You know it is more likely false than true.
2)If you (the person with the claim) can not know, because knowledge is beyond assertion, the best you have is most likely true. You not knowing for sure doesn't exclude you from claiming to know to the best of your ability to assert. The arguments Cliffe is presenting, still go through just fine. The best solution you can get should still be preferred to asserting no solution is able to be given. You don't know, but it doesn't effect the outcome in real life.
3) Given you (the person eith the claim) don't know, due to this level of skepticism, you are a solphist. Ok, then you can stop eatting, the food is fake. You can stop breathing, the air is fake. You can stop walking, there is no where to be or go. If you do any of these things, you deny your claim as valid by your actions. The claim is clearly false to you.
*You cannot live it out.* That concept is trash, throw it out. You adopted it to avoid Cliffe's conclusion, not because it is true. That is intellectually dishonest.
At worst you don't know, but should act as if it is real. At best, you should trash the concept, since it doesn't function. Great for teaching what not to think, but stupid for living.

Money is nothing - I live believing in nature as the whole source of power that is the very foundation of all life and everything....when I use the word nature I am referring to "reality" - reality itself in every essence - if god is that.... then that's what I believe in - I just don't use the same words and ideas as other humans who follow other humans who call themselves religious, etc - I don't follow society, money, the ignorant greedy society etc and their delusions of where they think they are right or wrong - the truth is everything - i do not have the power nor the intelligence of the true essence of god and his language of thought and methods of design to know. That’s why I value above all other things that we as humans can receive is experience and appreciation for what we experience because each little moment has a part of the complete truth in it. While some parts might be repeated through ones life, it’s not logical to think that we as individuals will ever have the whole truth while we are on earth

One quick observation for believing. Many people aren't aware of the fulfillment of the revelation 12 sign. Occurred February 2017. It would be interesting the odds of all the planets involved in that sign happening in proper alignment and orbits that was spoken of over 2k years ago. There were no computers around to calculate where and when planets will be in a certain location.
The ice age started as an affect of the Flood: the stars and planets are alined so perfectly that they don’t move out of orbit, and Earth itself is the only known planet with the perfect environment to support life. There is no denying the existence of a Creator.

@@leeman842 as I said, the bible is the claim not the evidence. Quoting bible verses is in no way evidence than quoting Bram Stoker as evidence of vampires.

I do not know if God is real, nor do I believe in him.
So if I live a good life and I'm cast into hell. So be it, I wouldn't want to be with a God that doesn't care if I was virtous or not.
God does care about virtue. The catch is He cares about HIS virtue, not ours. We are sinners and have fallen short of His glory. This is the message of the gospel. Christ came and died for our sins and when we live our life through Him His righteousness is given to us. We confess, repent (turn from sin) and follow Him. Our virtue and righteousness come through Christ, not through ourselves. Sin leads to eternal death and destruction. Salvation in Jesus leads to eternal life.
Man, you really don't want to be cast into hell. I've heard people say this and they aren't taking into consideration what hell actually is. It's a place where if you spent 5 seconds there you would immediately regret it.
Don't take my word for it. I'm just passing along the message from the Creator of all things. He wants you to come to Him. When you are by yourself, sincerely talk to Him and ask Him to change your heart. Tell Him you are unsure of things but that you are open to finding out if He's real. Ask Jesus to reveal himself to you and genuinely confess your sins to Him. You have nothing to lose and eternity to gain.
