      The chain spreader screws were screwed into the unit itself.
      I took a chance and removed them and then installed the spreader.
      Your video is top notch.
      Thanks

    Many many thanks to the guys below whose comment helped me find those crazy spreader screws sealed in corner of spreader bag. I missed that. Saved me a long ride to town. I had given up on 'em.

    THE CHAIN SPREADER HEX SCREWS ARE SEALED IN THE CORNER OF THE BAG THAT THE CHAIN SPREADER CAME IN. THEY ARE NOT IN THE BAG WITH THE REST OF THE HARDWARE.

    Thanks, about aligning the holes on the same side.
    My chain spreader is different than yours and looks different in the manual. Mine was made March 2024. It has bolts in the unit that I can take out and reuse. The spreader is more of a sprocket cover than anything else.
    Why is there so much cable, almost as much as there is chain? I can't get the chain to go around the sprocket, there is just not enough. Only if I shorten the rail, but then the rail would be too short!!!

    I just bought the identical garage door opener, installed it, could not get the garage door to work in either direction. I had power, and lights and safety sensors installed, remotes came preprogrammed, still nothing, took the garage door back ,exchanged it and got another one ,installed it and identical problem! Any suggestions? 🤔

    Did you propgram the outside battery remote pinpad ? I installed one of these openers about 2-3 weeks ago and it came out great..I followed the instructions that came with the remote keypad in its own seperate package and seems to have worked ok..I was outside the other night and thought I would just push the enter button on keypad to see how bright the keypads light is and the garage door opened..I did not enter the 4 digit pin # I had supposedly programmed into it.. any idea(s) ? I have checked and also tried a new battery and did the sequence again and it's the same.

    So does this unit not have motion activated lights or is mi e just not working. I replaced my chamberlain which the lights come-on when I walk into the garage if the doors already open. No if I'm coming in I have to have a flashlight to get to the button on the wall.

    • @CarsandEspresso
      @CarsandEspresso  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it has a motion sensor... if you break the door sensor's line of sight, the lights will come on...

    If a part is not listed in the "Parts List" the Manufacturer hasn't done their job correctly and multiple consumers like this poor gentlemen will continue to get confused and frustrated. How do you know that the screws in the "Chain Spreader" packing go with the Chain Spreader? ASSuming are we? Are they 8-32x7/16" - NO!
    Maybe the instructions should be reviewed by the Engineers...
    Note Instruction #6 from Assembly Step 2 - Attach chain spreader to the motor unit with two screws...Which screws? Who knows, maybe its the two screws not listed in the parts list and who knows there size? LOL!

    I missing those screws for the chain spreader too. Ridiculous. Wasted a lot of time. Now My issue is the door wont close and the open for the wall does not doing anything. The door acts like something is blocking the sensors.

    • @CarsandEspresso
      @CarsandEspresso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I had the same problem.... the sensors aren't aligned well... I kept messing with them until it worked... and for a while, I could swear the shadows on the sensor were messing with it... but it went away... good luck

    • @omarq1414
      @omarq1414 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@CarsandEspresso you were right. Sensors were misaligned about 1/4 inch. After I got them more zeroed in, it worked fine. I think craftsman should fixed the missing screw issue. It's a known issue. They have gone downhill in my opinion and experience.

    • @perryreyes1104
      @perryreyes1104 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I had the same issue today when installing mines. Motor wouldn’t work when pressing the button. After playing around with it for hours I finally figured out I had to manually program it first at the motor.
      On the motor
      Press the program button which is located in the middle of the arrows then the top arrow should light up. Then press and hold the top arrow till your desired hight that you want your door to stop then let go of the button. Then press the program button again then the bottom arrow will light up then press and hold the bottom arrow till your garage door is completely closed then let go of the button. Then press the program button again, it should start beeping and it will automatically go up then down. After that my motor finally worked when pressing the garage door opener.
