I just installed a new one with battery back up for when the power goes out. I love it. I will never by another one with out battery back up. There is nothing hard about installing one, but there is a lot to connect up, and program. The main drive, wired push button, wireless outside keypad, 2 safety sensors and the 2 remotes. For the average person figure on 3 to 5 hours at least. I watched a pro do it in one hour.

Thank you for posting the video on installing the Cressman garage door opener. I had an older Cressman garage door opener, but I couldn't get it to link with my new GMC 2022 with the home link, so I actually took the Cressman garage door motor down to my GMC dealer with an extension cord, and one of the salespeople help me to get it to work.

I like the motorcycle helmet when winding the torsion springs. As torsion spring winding videos on TH-cam are littered with comments about people who have had their face or body seriously damaged because of incorrect procedures. However I would also add wearing a thick jacket, as winding those springs in a t-shirt is asking for trouble if something goes wrong.

Ive watched people tighten without any protection. I guess they dont mind a busted jaw or severe head ache. Only once in my life i saw a guy try only 1 bar and that spring went zoom around and around. He was lucky that nothing hit him but from then on they scare me. If the springs need adjusted i will pay someone else just to tighten. I love my pretty face and my last 14 teeth.

Great job! Thank you for the attention to detail. You said it brother, people just don't give a crap any more. They just want to do the job; however it turns out, and get paid! So many unprofessional people and companies out there now a days.

    • @ChrisGoorbarry

Glad I could help! And literally bro.. If I can do something myself I will.. And most likely there's a how to on the internet!

Im sure no professional but i do any job and cheap. I say dont pay by the hour just let me spend all the time i want and it be done right. Some jobs only get 100 for 2 day job and other jobs get 100 in 2 or 3 hrs. Want it done right then piss on hour pay and enjoy doing it right. Another person sees the good job and now experienced so next 100 made faster. Myself i figure my time is free and enjoy tinkering with things. Instead of watching tv i rather do these things and make more then i had when i woke up. Slow and steady and puff a fat joint. Life is short so why rush and make it shorter.

I have installed a number of these and have found the track does not have to be level. Some angle up and some down. They all work just fine just as long they are not crazy off from level.

Just installed the same one a few days ago. Nice work, except you did not show the testing of the reversing safety feature where you use a 2x4 piece of lumber to show that the door reverses on its own after programming up/down and then sending the door down...This is where the door hits the flat edge of the wood, indicating an obstruction, and is supposed to automatically reverse back up to release its pressure off of the obstruction. Mine did not work. I re-programmed it, per the instructions, three times and it never once worked. Did you have this issue, or did you test it at all? Thanks for the video!

Anyone thinking about doing this to your garage, I recommend a serious look at a jackshaft mounted unit instead. For $150 more, you get a simpler, more quiet and space saving garage opener. Such as a Liftmaster 8500 or Chamberlain RJ070.

@@ChrisGoorbarry everything you can do yourself is worth it. Auto to home repair is always better if done yourself. You know it was done right even if it takes 3 times as long. Whats better, watching tv or doing stuff yourself and saving hundreds or even thousands each year? If teen kids then projects like this become a family project and time together. 100 saved is 100 less you gotta work for.

I think you completely screwed up.. the side rails for the track are off why don't you measure from the ceiling. That thing you call the roof, and make the sides even

I would suggest watching someone who isn't mounting a garage door opener for their first time if you want to learn.
However, This video is great if you want to watch someone else read the instructions on how to install a garage door instead of just reading the instructions yourself.
