    And you’re absolutely right I do need to make friends with those who have the same disease I have because they know what I’m going through. Nobody knows unless they’re going through it it’s horrible. It’s turned my life upside down just want to be normal and be able to function every day normallyso your interviews I’ve watched a couple of them and you really have helped me just by listening to you on one of your videos that you take medication and you’re doing better. I’m trying to prevent that but I just want to live a normal life and get better.

    Thank you so much for your interview because I got Addison’s disease and I’m not on any medication and I am trying to prevent it and it’s not easy. It’s really really hard and I don’t know if I will end up on it but I really appreciate your interview. It helped me out a lot, thank you. God bless you and take care of yourself eat good meat and vegetables and fruits and make your own homemade ice cream. You can do it in a way that’s very healthy. God bless you. I hope you stay well.🥰❤️

    Hi from the UK. Thank you so much for making this video. Newly diagnosed. Very up n down. Sorting out my diet. Yes i think it will take a while to get the dose right. And i believe we know our bodies best. How we feel. And what dose of meds suits us. As we are all differrent. With differrent health issues. Ages ect. Listen to our bodies. Reduce stress. Lots of good food. Water and sleep and rest. And dont push ourselves. Be kind to ourselves. Rest when your body tells you. Good days bad days. I have Addisons.xx❤❤❤

    Also, Jill battle has Addison’s and she is a fitness instructor. She provides free workout for people with chronic illness, especially adrenal insufficiency. She’s so helpful.

    Hello! Thank you so much for making this video. I have addison's(Primary, since 2012) and hashimoto's(hypo, since 2021). Everyone is slightly different and you're SO right about listening to your body; I eat 6 small meals per day, same with exercise- a few times per day instead of long workouts. Basically don't overexert yourself as that burns through your cortisol.
    Salt cravings are a sign of low cortisol; so if you are on the right dose you should only crave salt when you've had a stressful day/overexerted/are sick(or if you've had a really sweaty day). If you're craving salt- eat food with iodized salt- but if you're not craving it then don't(listen to your body). Don't eat too much potasium. Get your blood checked every 3 months. Manage your stress, and workload- don't push yourself. Any time you lower your dose your body will go through corticol steroid withdrawal for a couple days.
    You sound like you're doing Great, and you're honestly inspiring me to put more effort into managing myself. You're just wonderful 😊

    You can take frozen bananas and use heavy cream with Kiefer and mix it together and it’s like vanilla ice cream and it taste delicious to me and you won’t have all that sugar and you won’t gain weight from it. I’m sure it’ll be a lot better for you than any store bought ice cream that is really not good for you.

    This is so encouraging. I was just diagnosed about a month ago and I went from being on 100 mg of HC in the hospital to being on 20 mg now. I pass out a lot and am very symptomatic so it’s encouraging to hear that you’re doing so much better now. I’m trying to get my dose right and I’m
    hoping that I can start to feel normal again sometime soon

      Thanks for your kind words. It does get easier. You go from “how am I going to manage this for my life?” to not even thinking about it most days; sometimes weeks. All the best.

    Thank you so much for this video! I have done a self diagnosis and I believe that I have Addison's disease also. It has to be confirmed yet. In fact I have to present my doctor with this info I have to date, to convince her to start testing and refer me to an endocrinologist. Anyways I am glad to know now that I wasn't a crazy hypochonder, but that it was all really happening to me. Thanks for helping me on my way to recovery.

    Hi Jessica, I found and subscribed to your channel. It is beautiful & a blessing to see the progress through your journey. I’m 41 years old & a mom of 2. I have similar symptoms & have seen many doctors. Tried hormones & antidepressants with no luck. I really need an angel like yourself to ask you couple questions. Obviously not in comments. I’m not sure if you can see my email. I’m sure you are super busy w/ life etc. I live in CA. I need to heal this once & for all. I know your not medical doc…just a possible angel in my life. I don’t have a difficult situation. Just woman to woman I think you will understand. I looked up supplements however some made in Australia & quality is so important to me as well…I will find a way around that. However, if at all possible to get in touch with you it would be a blessing by God. If not I understand & wish you the best of the best & will continue to follow your updates etc. thank you in advance.

      Hey lovely, I am very happy to answer questions. You can find me on Facebook and then I am happy to chat through messenger. I have spoken to a lot of people this way. Many people looking for the answers they are not getting from their doctors.

    I have read that the medicine can make me feel hungry when I'm not. It takes a little bit of time after a meal for my body to realize I am full then if I am still hungry I eat some more. Thanks for all you do.

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I agree. I try to ignore the hunger unless it is persistent, then I eat more.

    Diabetes insipidus Can cause you to drink a lot of water yet still have normal salt levels. It can be as a result of problems in the brain (central DI) or the kidneys

    What dose of steroids do you take daily? Do you adjust it somehow to everyday challenges? You seem to deal with it perfectly!

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I definitely do not deal with it perfectly. Im sorry if I portrayed that. I do adjust for daily challenges/ hormonal changes. I basically take a 5 increment until I feel better unless I am passing out then I take a straight 20 and more until I feel better. Don’t underestimate the power of rest.

    If you exercise you likely have to increase more cortisol. The muscle building will burn calories and fat. The more you exert yourself the more likely you’ll need to increase the cortisol

    I wonder if fluid retention was responsible for the weight gain. Hypothyroidism can also cause significant fluid retention. I really appreciate this video and your honesty, it's really helpful. 💛

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. There did seem to be a lot of fluid in my knees and joints. It may have contributed.

      I had a bad reaction to florinef as well - it totally cut out my leg muscles from working . This was “acute steroid myopathy” bc florinef is a heavily florinated steroid . I had no option but to stop it, because I couldn’t walk . I have to eat a large amount of salt and am controlled on a mix of prednisone and hydrocortisone.
