This is the story of my giving birth to my fourth beautiful baby, Auden. We finally made it to the end of my complicated and high risk pregnancy (Adrenal insufficiency, Hashimotos and Graves disease and several bleeding episodes, covid and bronchitis) only to be hit with more serious problems. Auden was sent to the special care nursery and I was stuck in hospital for the longest week in my life...

    I'm so sorry about all the arguing going on around you. It only makes your stress & symptoms worse. It's a very "bad" situation to be living in. The illness is bad enough but having to deal with people fighting around you can drive you to insanity. I will pray for you so God can somehow get you away from all this & give you His peace in your heart. So sorry😢. God bless you! 🙏 From someone who deeply understands! 🌹

    I liked so much what you had to say! I have secondary adrenal insufficiency & my Endocrinologist, my Primary Care doctor, & my husband are very supportive. Friends & family don't understand & unfortunately I have lost friends because of this illness. I certainly know & can empathize with your symptoms. Many of the symptoms you described I also have. I wish that you & I would be able to be friends & support one another. I wish you all the best & pray that you have more days that are positive & filled with more energy. I can't get out of bed on most days, no matter how much I try. I get up just to go to the bathroom & back to bed😢. There's a lot of brain fog & difficulty concentrating. I have to make lists for everything I need to do. Well, enough of my symptoms. I hope that anyone who suffers from this illness & is reading this will learn to accept their limitations & be kinder with themselves. This illness has taught me a lot about life & myself. May God help all of us who suffer with this disease. My ❤ goes out to you! Rose 🌹

    I've been going through adrenal fatigue (HPA axis stress dysfunction.) it's been horrific. This is a sixth year and I'm finally coming out the other side. No help from doctors, I had to find out things myself. crazy covid didn't help. Thankfully I didn't get the clotshot in my already struggling body. I have to take things very slow. it's been a crazy ride and cost me a fortune trying to get my body back. I'm using cannabis in coconut oil now and I'm finally feeling good again. I still get bad shaky days but they are getting less and lasting less. I probably will never fully get my strength back but I'm 77. so expected. I will admit there were times, because it went on and on, that I didn't care if I'd died, it was so horrible. But I am better so be strong, LOVE YOUR BODY especially when it is struggling. Treat it as you would a sick child, with tender love. it will respond accordingly.❤❤❤

    I have been diagnosed with Addison's for over 10 years, but had it for way longer and hospitalized with severe adrenal crisis and followed by coma. These were near death experiences. I have had numerous crisis' since and can't count them all, some were an ambulance ride and hospitalization. And some I learned to recognize the symptoms early and head the crisis off at home. The doctors won't treat you anyway and I have nearly died in front of them and they just watch your blood pressure. I am on stress doses of Hydrocortisone now due to pain from arthritis. I can say that even though you are on HC that you still have debilitating symptoms of Addison's. I have to balance my own electrolytes because I produce zero Aldosterone. And zero all the other hormones made by the Cortex. I have a good doctor 5 hours drive from here, so he can't help me in the ER. I am trying to educate my doctors and ambulance, hospital and ER with literature for that very purpose from the National Adrenal Disease Foundation. All kinds of things can put me into a crisis, like being out in the cold for an hour, or family trouble, or loud noise. I turned off the buzzer on my dryer because it sends adrenaline through my body. The list goes on, worry or fear. Or good things like being with my grand kids. It is all stress and I can take very little. I can not work and do the things I use to do like garden. This disease is all encompassing. Some people say they can life a relatively normal life after getting on steroids. I don't see how. I have zero production of hormones, from the cortex. I have to be my own doctor as my doctor who cares for me is so far away. I like connecting with others who have the disease so I can learn and better take care of myself. Thank you for sharing your life.

    I have unspecified adrenal insufficiency that's chronic. I had the and still have some hyperpigmentation. Anyhow, so making new friends and explaining can be difficult to get across. Like recently my new friends have said oh I get really tired. Maybe I should get checked. I think I have what you have. I don't wish it on anyone. I'll ask them. Have you ever had your hormones checked and they say no? I'm supposed to be on HR since I had a hysterectomy or partial hysterectomy or I'm supposed to take B12. Tada... It's a season of rest for me too and it's been so hard and I haven't had much help or guidance from my endocrinologist, but knowing that it's okay to rest and seeing you make it through this pregnancy gives me so much hope.

      @@JessicaHearsey That would be so helpfulf! Yes I was on 20mg of Hydro before pregnancy, and the first trimester I didn't really have many issues. At week 13 I started to crash and had to go up to 25mg. But since then my capacity has been so limited. So I'm not sure if it's normal pregnancy, AI, or one of my other health issues (although it does seem to get better with steroids). I had another crash a few days ago (at 15 weeks), but I'm scared to keep upping my dose. I've been taking 27.5mg and feel a bit better, but my endocrinologist has been little help. Their advice was to try to avoid increasing my dose at all costs, but that I could if I absolutely had to. They just told me to "do my best" so I've just been lost with figuring out my dosing and knowing if I'm taking too little or too much 😬

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What other symptoms are you having that gets better with steroids? I think of was taking 30 minimum daily. Sometimes more in the third trimester. This did make me gain quite a bit of weight but life was so much more manageable. Avoiding upping dose can be dangerous because as my endo explained to me that I would be naturally making/ needing more cortisol during pregnancy anyway if I did not have this disease so your body needs it.

    • @christyjm11
      @christyjm11 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JessicaHearsey I am worried about weight gain- particularly because I had a bad bought of infections and illnesses right before pregnancy that caused me to updose for months and I gained a lot then too. I had finally gotten back to my normal dose , started losing weight, and then got pregnant 😅 But I'll feel super out of it (sort of dissociated), have heart palpitations, nausea, diarrhea, extreme fatigue, brain fog, shakiness. But my endocrinologists don't seem to know much- so it's hard to know what to do.

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sucks that this is our reality. All you can do is up your dose and see how that makes you feel. The doctors can’t tell you how much to take because everybody needs different amounts and metabolises the medication differently. I came to the mindset that yup I am going to gain weight but I am going to do the best I can to be healthy (exercise and eat well) and then everything else is outside of my control, it is temporary and I am going to chose to be okay with it. It still sucked though. Those feelings of out of it… I describe it as not really feeling that I am there. What I found was that it can be helped with steroids but mostly it was a dip in blood sugar levels not because of anything I did or ate or didn’t eat, just another side effect of disease.

    I had my hormones tested and came out with a very low cortisol reading - I was originally diagnosed with hypoadrenalism and given hydrocortisone. But I didn't take the medication at all because I was worried about side effects - a year later I was tested again and the cortisol levels were normal. It turned out the hypoadrenalism was caused by a medication I was taking at the time - certain medications suppress ACTH. This was opioid induced and then resolved when I stopped taking the painkillers.

For example, my baseline BP was 99/66 (Before the IV injection) end of the test it was 109/69. So, clearly, it did go up but is this a normal/average/low/high result for ATCH test? If you could toss in your 2 cents it would be greatly appreciated.

    Yeah I think its a tragedy that main stream medicine has totally dropped the ball with thyroid and adrenal issues, in a backward way its encouraging to read the comments of other sufferers as I thought I was the only person with weird health issues and the rest of humanity was way healthier than me! I'm 58 I had adrenal issues my whole life and its ruined my health and also my life its takes everything, relationships, jobs and careers! I personally don't believe stress causes adrenal insufficiency I think that's absolute bullshit I think you are either lucky or unlucky you're born with bad adrenals like I was or you are not, I know lots of people who have very stressful lives and they revel in it they are not sick in anyway whereas if your adrenals are bad then you cannot cope with any kind of stress, not physical chemical or emotional, you can have all the spa days you like but it won't make one tiny bit of difference, you can be as healthy as you like but it will not make any difference whatsoever I know I tried everything and I just end up where I started, lifestyle changes are a good thing for overall health but if you think its going to fix your adrenals issues then I'm sorry to tell you that going to be disappointed, it won't! I believe the only thing that will "help" with the problem is firstly talk to a professional endocrinologist never a General Practitioner GP's are not suitably trained in this area of medicine, they couldn't spot an adrenal crisis from a mile away! If you are trying to deal with this through your family doctor then you are just wasting your time in most cases unless you are very lucky so that route is a bit of a long shot IMOP Its like all things if I had a heart problem I would insist on being referred to a specialist cardiologist someone that specialises in that subject because its far too complex for your average GP First you need a full work up by a "good" endocrinologist and figure out exactly whats going on and that's what I am trying to do now as I am tired of trying to self medicate because as Ive gotten older I can no longer cope as well as I used to so I need to get this fixed! I have symptoms of Addisons & Cushing's so could be cortisol insensitivity I never had black gums or fat belly, I do have very small amount of belly fat that I cant shift plus some fatty tissue at the back of my neck, I sometimes have a rounded puffy face but not always comes and goes, also I have skinny legs, I have GERD, IBS, Candida flare ups, eczema, hypothyroidism, depression, brain fog, libido all over the place, I have sore sandy eyes, I have earwax issues blocking my ears all related so I'm told, also my memory sucks and I'm getting the heart pumping thing every time I climb the stairs or lift something heavyish! Sorry to hear so many people suffering and more importantly not getting treated properly it's tragic that lives are wasting away when I believe this is fixable! Take care you guys x

    One thing I do not understand. I have heard so many women say that they have lived with Hashimoto’s for decades before they were diagnosed. I had symptoms of Hashimoto’s for four months they were excruciating. I wasn’t able to work anymore and I went to my doctor told him all my symptoms he tested my TPO antibodies and Bam. They were 37 times higher than they should, so there it was just like that.

I am so surprised to did not have a adrenal crisis having the flu and not being on your stress dose or any dose of hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone. I am not sure if you know about NADF it's the National Adrenal Disease Foundation but they are a great resource! I hope you continue to feel well!

      I am still not sure when me passing out or “shutting down” becomes an adrenal crisis. What I mean is, where is the line? When does it turn from one to the other? I am pretty sure I had several adrenal crisis’ before diagnosis. Especially in the hospital when they couldn’t figure out how why my blood pressure was dangerously low and I was essentially dying. Yes I agree. A lot of my viewers do confuse adrenal fatigue with Adrenal insufficiency. Not even comparable really is it? Thank you for your comment. I think it is important that people know the difference. I even get people I talk to in day to day life that confuse it too. Thanks for the well wishes.

      @@JessicaHearsey that's why it's so important that we educate anyone who will listen! My son also has Addisons Disease and as you know sadly his story is similar to your story. Doctors just don't know and it can be so upsetting. I am glad you are living a healthy normal life and listen to your body. My son does as well. He has a very physical job and just works with the cues his body gives him like when to take more hydrocortisone. I am grateful for people like you sharing your story. Best.

      Recommend pregnancy? Or the supplements? I’m not a doctor but I definitely would recommend these supplements especially if you have both parts of MTHFR mutation.

    So few doctors think of endocrine problems, and it is common for people with them to have gone through a plethora of medics and being told ther is nothing physically wrong before anyone thinks of any endocrine tests. I think medical students and general doctors should be made much more aware of this.

    I wish I was as confident as you about weight. I did fine for about 10 years and then lost the battle. It's stabilized now but I'm heavier and can't lose it like I used to. People who are prone to weight gain and age and gender etc are all factors in this regard. My #11 - The weight messages re adrenal insufficiency are different for each of us, with a wide swing of outcomes. Please don't weight shame.

    • @JessicaHearsey
      @JessicaHearsey 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hope I am misunderstanding your comment. Are you stating that I am “weight shaming?” Or are you telling people not to weight shame? I am not confident about weight. I just don’t want to make excuses for myself. Just because it is harder doesn’t mean I am going to give up on this battle. I swing a lot. Please don’t assume that I am not struggling with weight. I also have hashimotos and Graves’ disease at the same time which means my weight fluctuates hugely. The point of this video was to state that people shouldn’t tell you, that you are going to gain weight just because you are on steroids. I haven’t reached the 10 year mark with steroids but I have had graves and hashimotos for over 10 years. Weight has been a constant battle for me but I refuse to settle. I have just had my 4th baby and let me tell you. If I can maintain my weight… anyone can. I’m sorry that you are struggling with this but we all are…

    I’m having similar symptoms! My Dr won’t listen, just blows me off! Why is this such a familiar story with doctors these days? 😮What is happening to the medical profession ❓

    Thanks for making this video. I've been going thru this for many many years and feel I'm at my end. Starting to get these "thick" toxic headaches now and feeling EXTREMELY unwell which I didn't think could get worse than my normal flu-like feelings. My flanks hurt, lower back hurts, my legs don't work like they used to, I can barely get up from the floor. I feel so weak and fatigued, can't get enough salt, constantly dehydrated no matter how much I drink. Just got done asking a Dr about adrenals again and made sure I mentioned that I don't go to the Dr anymore unless it is extremely bad because the stress of getting over another failed visit where no one helps me is too much for me to overcome...so for her to please know this is serious. Well, I had nausea, diarreah, and weird thigh pain on both thighs along with ab pain and lower back pain and exhaustion for this dr visit. They did just normal bloodwork (CBC and CMP) which came back pretty much normal and now nothing from them. Western Medicine has failed me completely. My body feels like it's dying. I really hope this is the end, tbh. I have "adrenals/hydrocortisone" written on my body in the event I go into a coma and also a letter next to my bed saying "eff you" to all the drs who refused to help me. This is torturous. I know some of you can identify with this post.

      If you can, order an at home cortisol test. Bring the results to a doctor, or sometimes the company will send them. I used Let’s Get Checked, but it’s a blood test. You can also get saliva tests and possibly urine tests. My doctor referred me to an endocrinologist, when he saw the result. If doctors won’t order a test, you can do your own, if you can afford $50-150. Mine was about $75.

       I have and it shows adrenal fatigue. Only drs don't recognize it and my NP just had me taking supplements which dont seem to help. Prob is my sodium is actually sometimes above range these days and I'm wondering if it's bc I drink so much salt water to help with fatigue or if it's something else. I just don't know anymore.
