I cannot tell you how much of a masterpiece this episode is. The storytelling the pacing everything about this episode gives me chills and there is yet an anime or show to give me the same chills
I still get hyped with Porco thinking why is a bunch of humans out to kill him instead of running. Aha they really have no idea the monsters they’ve created lol. You put humans in a situation where they had to adjust and evolve to fight titans while the rest of the world are scared of them. They accidentally created elite soldiers specialized to kill them and it’s hilarious.
"It's going to be filled with Eren murdering people and I never thought he'd be the type.." Eren season 1: "I'll kill every last one of them" Eren seaosn 3: "If we kill all the enemies over there... will we finally be free?" seems like he's always laid out his priorities pretty clearly, mostly it involves lots of death.
@@leeking6939 they didn't know, but also, there was no way to guess they could be turned back by freeing Ymir, so as far as usual knowledge goes, killing them was a mercy. Being trapped in the body of a Pure Titan is a fate worse than death.
something you will miss when watching dubbed is in season 1 when armin asked eren why he would wanna go outside if it meant certain death, and he responds "BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN THIS WORLD!" which they for some reasons changed in the dub to the cringey line "BECAUSE THE WORLD IS MY BIRTHRIGHT!" but the change was dumb because it connects him unknowingly to his mother who says that eren is already special because he was born into this world in season 3. and then theres the connection with willy where he says the same thing.
@@brendanoconnor1550oh for gods sake. now theres no connection to eren and his mother. or with all them together. what are the dub writers freaking doing! THEY MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF HAVING THAT LINE FOR ALL THEM!
I usually watch or rewatch an anime in sub or dub (whichever I didn't start with) and AoT is one anime I will never recommend the dub to friends. For some anime like Death Note or Steins;Gate I would recommend the dub, but it really should be just sub only for AoT or any anime that is plot-heavy. AoT dub has introduced some inconsistencies, omitted some important details, or even introduce plot holes. An example of this in the dub is Reiner calling the Female Titan "Annie" when they should have no idea she had already been captured and they were isolated to check if other members of the 104th were with her. I can't really fault the dub writer/director as they have to change words to still kind of match the sound to the lip movements of the characters, and they also had no idea of future events from the source material when the manga wasn still ongoing back then.
The one important thing to understand from this show is that this isn't your usual show where you just simply support the main cast and assume the opposite side is full of lies and evilness, so people like Tybur aren't necessarily lying

Attack on Titan's penultimate arc has taken some of the biggest risks in storytelling I have seen thus far and the anime's production company switching studios for the production of the final season is quite the risk for any animated show to take. Not only does this section of the story take place 3 years after the main characters traversed outside of the walls and reach the sea (the final section of Season 3's finale takes place a year after Wall Maria was reclaimed), but the narrative switches to the POVs of the group that had been the antagonists of the series to dive into their lives, their outlooks on the situation, the backstories of their youth, and seeing the development of future Warrior candidates that are unaware of the truth of their fellow Eldians on Paradis. This season is basically the story that Hajime Isayama had been building up to tell: a story about the consequences of war and conflict on people's lives. We, as an audience, have spent a good chunk of this story seeing events play out from one side's perspective and now we are tuning into the other side's perspective, erasing the black and white perspective of the conflict of the narrative. As I was reading this series during this part of the manga's run, I was continuously surprised and amazed by the developments of the plot, the multiple revelations the characters have, and the culmination of the story's themes and messages. Having rewatched the anime twice since the airing of its final episode in both Japanese and English, I can honestly say that this has been one of the best shows I have ever seen.
@@ibrahimmustafa2481 I haven't read Berserk yet, so hopefully I'll get to reading it when I can. I have heard tons of praises for the manga, so that's at least exciting to look forward to.

S4 is something else, I've never been someone to watch a show with my mouth wide open/jumping out of my seat/shooting my arms up. But this season does that to me every episode.
Now Eren and his comrades came from the other side of the sea and killed a number of innocent people just like Reiner, Berthordt, and Annie did. Gabi got the same feeling as little Eren had had.
I literally feel such emotions watching these 2 episodes and did so even watching you react to it! I can't wait for your reactions to some of the further hype episodes
That is why you need to reset you mind. Which side is good? Which side is bad? It change now, it's not the same as it once was. Eren had change since the last ep of season 3. Eren is no longer as Eren we once knew.
The end of the Eren-Reiner meeting made me so hyped... it was crazy! One of the greatest scenes of this season, according to me! Each episode is crazy for this part! EACH EPISODE!
Eren is no longer an unthinking impulsive guy rushing into fight with fists swinging. He baits, he analyzes and calculates, and goes for minimal effort lethal kill now. Also, new scout fights mostly with firearms and missiles now.
I had the same reaction watching this episode the first time, and it's bittersweet to me seeing you all hyped up, because I now see this episode in a very different light.
Keep in mind that in the first chapter of shingeki no kiojin Wit Studio changed Eren's dream, for this reason at the beginning of Chapter 88 (the one-hour special) Mappa corrected that mistake. Mappa made that correction due to the importance of Eren and Mikasa's dream for the end of the story. In the first chapter of the manga it is understood that the dream that Eren mentions having had is about Mikasa and him, what was shown in the first chapter before Eren wakes up (titans, toys and corpses) is a change made by Wit Studio and has nothing to do with Eren and Mikasa's dream shown in the first chapter of the manga.
I love seeing other peoples perspectives during this episode. Personally, I was mortified the whole time. I was barely able to focus on the characters return, I had so many questions. Were our friends in on this situation? Mikasa sounded disappointed with Eren? What Willy revealed is that the Island of Paradis was never a threat, so long as the founding titan kept being passed down to Royals the Island would never attack but now that Eren has it, the actual threat of world ending is real. Why is Eren so okay with becoming bad guy #1? Etc By now I was soo deep in the Marley koolaid I didn't want them to get massacred either.
I don't know where there should be tens of millions of titans. With simple math you can calculate the scope of the three walls(the distances between them are known) and if you assume the colossals are 10m wide i just calculate approx 700k (without the districs). Proove me wrong 😁😋
You are right that Eren has chosen as Reiner did. I think like Reiner he wants to be judged. The fandom is hugely split in this judgement. I don't think the show wants there to be an easy answer.
One of the themes of AoT is assumed guilt, people believing themselves guilty for everything based on a thing that happened. A thing that was usually the result of many people's choices leading to it. Reiner is a very solid example of this, he believes himself guilty for all that happened in Paradise despite that being silly. There is absolutely no evidence Marcel succeeded in influencing the military, in fact in episode 3 of season 4 the reason they give for picking Reiner is his perseverance which is a quality he actually has. Also if Reiner had turned back with the others, they would of just sent more warriors. The military keeping Porco back as a back up Jaw makes actually way more sense for why they didn't pick him, he is very similar to his brother.
What was Rainer supposed to do? His family was held captive by Marley , if the Marlians doubted their loyalty , then all of Rainer's relatives went to paradise in the form of titans , and Rainer himself was eaten by a candidate for warriors . Rainer really considers Jean , Koni , Armin , and Eren to be friends , and it was very painful for him. Reconsider his confession , reconsider how he taught Eren to fight , how he saved Armin from Annie , how he risked his life to save Connie

Please watch Solo leveling it's great anime
Where s4 really begins

You look beautiful today 🫶❤️😍

If I´m ever to show AoT to someone I show them S4 first and then S1-3 to see if they root more for the Marleyans
that would completely ruin the show for them lol, the entire plot of season 1 and 3 is figuring out where the titans come from and who's the enemy
That is the dumbest thing anyone could ever do
