If you want to know more about Venom (the alien that took over Eddie) watch the Venom films before No Way Home. It’s set in its own continuity with another actor playing the character. Spider-Man 3 at least was comic accrete to the origins of Venom. Bonded to Peter, changed him, Peter rejects it and bonds to Eddie to become one of Spidey’s greatest foes until they made peace and Venom becomes a anti hero. @VKunia
people didnt like the amount of things happening in the movie, like a cluster of things happening all at once. kinda overwhelmed the audience i guess, but i love this movie cause i grew up with it@@emma6648
Even with all its flaws and silliness, the quieter moments in Spider-Man 3 really works. When Aunt May and Peter is talking and that end scene about Peter learning how to forgive was great as well. And the end shot of Mary Jane and Peter just hugging, just relieved from all the trauma and pressure that they had to go through, it was not happiness, it was pure relief, that was a wonderful way for the series to end.
They werent trying to write a cool or edgy spiderman really. It's more how nerd Peter thinks a cool and edgy person would act since he is such a hardcore dork. He is genuinely such a nice person that he cant really perceive it anyother way
I always got the impression that Peter grew up regarding Saturday Night Fever as the ultimate Edgelord Movie. I mean, he was raised by elderly people and his aunt is a downright saint, so she'd certainly not want such a "horrid" movie in her living room.
The ring falling forever I believe was done to show just how fast spider-Man can actually move. Like he had enough time to do all that and then dive to get the ring. To the audience he's moving normally but in comic reality it's moving at super human speed.
It’s the same concept they use thematically for superman and the flash, and characters in the DBZ universe. What the camera shows us taking several minutes may in fact be only a handful of seconds since the camera is allowing us to see in a dilated time effect which those characters can perceive. The slow motion eye tracking from superman watching the flash is a prime example… They also explain it in greater detail during a fight between Krillin and Jackie Chun in DRAGONBALL…which perfectly explains how it was indeed 5 minutes til Namekians exploded despite it being several episodes…

It seems to me that Harry never questioned the "cause" of Norman's death. Just the circumstances. He didn't WANT to hear that Norman was insane, so the easy thing was to just BLAME Spider-Man/Peter. But now Bernard is telling Harry very gently that Norman caused his own death and that Harry's anger is misplaced. I mean a person may KNOW that their relative got themselves killed, but they won't want to hear that from the person who was fighting their relative.
Early drafts of Spider-Man 3 had Harry knowing the entire time. His butler would've "told him" but another wide shot would've revealed that he was alone and he was in Harry's head the entire time.
Yeah it's not exactly unrealistic for a family friend to hide the fact from the son that the father took his own life. People always pretend Spider-man 3 is full of plot holes, it's just dumb audiences.
Jealousy was also involved. Peter was the smart, hardworking type son Norman wanted he would often praise him infront of Harry. Harry never got that acknowledgement and now he never will. He blames Peter for taking his dad away in more ways than 1. Also he was mentally unstable (he keeps seeing and hearing his dad who tells him Peter is responsible for everything)

Who wants to bet that Eddie yelling "What the HELL!!" was added in there by writers just because Topher was also Eric Foreman?? That was Eric's favorite line, too.
During the hospital scene, Harry told the nurse that Peter and MJ were his best friends and that he'd give his life for them. Harry died doing just that, and after rewatching this film I came to understand just how much impact his death was supposed to have, even after all he did to Peter and MJ.

Despite Avi Arad ruining Sam Raimi's vision for this 3rd film, At least I finally glad to see Sandman because he is another cool Spider-Man villain while feeling sad for Flint Marko's daughter Penny having illness issues, But still, I wished Avi Arad didn't even freakin ruin this film for the trilogy, Awesome reaction Vkunia.
What I love of Bully Maguire is that he's gotten incredibly full of himself, he's out of control, he's manipulated by an evil alien symbiote feeding his worst impulses and even with all that his image of what a "cool" person is like is so dorky that he STILL looks like a fucking dork. Also "this is like a soap opera": that actually fits, honestly. This was SUPPOSED to be the genesis of the supervillain team The Sinister Six, which, at times, was composed of Sandman, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Electro, Venom, Rhino, Doctor Octopus, Lizard, Shocker, and Vulture (not all at the same time, of course, but there were always six at a time, with some members coming and going).
Venom is not a disease, it is a symbiote. It has its own consciousness However, it needs a host to survive and in return it augments the host's powers and emotions.
the fake French waiter is Evil Dead film series star Bruce Campbell who also had a cameo in the latest Dr Strange movie as a hot dog vendor on the sidewalk of an alternate New York City.
I wouldn't say that this is what the writers think is edgy, it's more that nerdy Peter has a perception of what a "cool guy" is, and that's what he becomes.
@1:53 - “Why does she look familiar.” Vik, imagine her with her natural red hair and starring opposite Chris Pratt in Jurassic World. Yes, that’s Bryce Dallas Howard
Trivia time: On the day they were shooting the skyscraper scene, she'd just found out she was pregnant. They went ahead with full safety precautions, and Raimi looked around at one point to see Ron Howard just...there, keeping an eye out for his daughter.
What I like about Spider-Man 3 that I think might just be me is that it feels like an inverse of Spider-Man 2. 2 worked so well for people because it put a lot of emphasis on Peter's very human problems plus the fact that his personal life was falling apart partially from his difficulty managing his dual identity, so it made it somewhat relatable. What I feel worked for 3 was that now Peter's life is going TOO well, his personal life is going great, he's becoming successful, everyone loves Spider-Man, and it made him a bit too uppity and insufferable to his friends who now weren't doing too good. **Mostly** because of him. It's basically when the bullied nerd outcast becomes the popular guy and loves the feeling a bit too much. Then Venom happens and it's like a massive slap in the face. Thats just my opinion though, lotta people don't like it, Bully Maguire funny haha, to each their own and all that.
The symbiote brings out the aggression in it's host, thats what they tried to portray with "bully maguire" and ended up doing it in a really cheesy way. Spiderman didn't get the more monstrous characteristics because it wasn't a full joining, peter is supposed to resist it's influence, unlike Brock who embraces it. Venom in the comics is the name for the joint entity of Eddie Brock and the venom symbiote.
While this movie is.... very very strange, I do love it in all it's Sam Raimi goofy weirdness: it's like an old kids cartoon come to life, and I love it for it.
The one who is with Gwen is Andrew Garfield's version, in The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2. A lot of people don't like those films, but I really recommend you watch them to decide for yourself. (I have a soft spot for them personally) Regardless, amazing video as always, probably one of my favourite vids of yours yet. Keep up the good work!
I think I heard once that, aside from this movie meant to have been totally different (studio interference messed with the script), Bully McGuire's "edginess" was a realistic take because this version of Peter would find the emo-like behavior to be edgy, so it's true to his character. It's odd, but it oddly works :P Oh, also, all the dancing was "practice" for the night in front of MJ.
The ending was different. Eddie would've stalked Peter into his apartment (while he's showering actually after the church) and would've been consumed by the suit. You can still find some of the scrapped footage on TH-cam. Also Sandman would've almost killed Peter but his daughter would've begged him to let Peter go
Now that you've seen all of Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, all you need to see now is the two Amazing Spider-Man's with Andrew Garfield, and the two Venom movies, then you're ready for No Way Home! And yes, you should also watch Into the Spider-Verse as well. I love your reactions, sweetheart! Makes me smile and laugh every time.
What's interesting is that despite all the complaints about Topher's Eddie/Venom, this version is actually lifted nearly bit by bit from the comics, the original depiction of Eddie was not as the huge brute he later became known as, but much like here he was a competing photographer who felt wronged by Peter, even the church scene is accurate, except that inthe original Eddie was asking God for forgiveness, not to kill Peter.
Wasn't it originally he was asking for revenge, or a way to get back at Peter? Not murder but something to hurt Peter? And that is where the symbolism of the symbiote being 'given' to him comes from? Or am I completely remembering wrong?
Harry wasn't a supervillain until he took the Goblin Formula like his father did. The green smoke chamber is what enhances his strength, agility and durability, at the cost of his mental health. Venom is its own personality, it is an alien symbiotic organism that can enhance its host. Contrary to the movie's depiction, Venom isn't evil but more like an anti-hero. Carnage is another one of these symbiotes, that one is pure evil.
In the comics, Peter was with Gwen first, then she died and he ended up with MJ... Also, did you notice that the maître d' at the restaurant was the same guy who wouldn't let Peter in the theater in Part 2 and the wrestling announcer who gave him his name in part 1? (Bruce Campbell, buddy of Sam Raimi....They did the Evil Dead movies/show together among other things)
Fun fact (That I learned from a CinemaWins video on this movie): The little girl who Jameson buys the camera from in the final battle is actually a family member of the director, Sam Raimi. I can’t remember if she’s his niece or daughter though.
16:20 "Oh my God! He's roasting him so hard." They gave this actor, Bruce Campbell, cameos in all three of this set of Spider-Man movies: first he was the wrestling announcer who gave Spider-Man his name, then he was the usher who wouldn't let Peter in late to see MJ's show, and now he's this maître-d'!
I always liked for Tobey’s Peter who is probably the most nerdy the characters ever been, that just because the symbiote wants peter to be cool doesn’t mean peter knows what that looks like
Coming off of Spider-Man 2 (which is perfect in almost every way), this movie is really weird, but there is still so much good to love about this movie. The camerawork, music, and action are all exceptional, and a lot of the slower moments work really well.
32:18 The script originally had Harry simply looking at a picture of himself with Peter and MJ and deciding to put his desire for revenge aside for his friends without any prompting. It would have been a lot better to stick to that version of the scene.
I think it probably would have been better, but I don't mind this version too. I think you could explain the fact that Bernard didn't say anything initially because he wanted to leave Harry's image of his father intact. And Harry probably wouldn't have listened anyway at that time, blind with anger.
You're right. It is a drama. Spider-Man is a super hero but his stories are always gonna be dramas. About a boy learning the responsibility of becoming and man through being Spider-Man lol That part where Harry remembers everything and he's like "My father die right" and they edited it where peter was like "yeah" always gets me 😂
The whole thing about "Bully Maguire" is that the symbiote is amplifying the darker aspects of his personality. But Tobey's Peter Parker is such a massive dork that he even comes off even dorkier when he's acting like an arrogant jerk. That's why it's so cringe when he's strutting and dancing, and I think that was the biggest problem people had with it. The symbiote is supposed to make Peter dangerously aggressive, but it's so cringe that he never comes off as particularly dangerous.
Sam Raimi the director behind all three of these original Spider-Man movies didn’t want to do Venom but the studio demanded he put Venom in screwing up this movie because he wasn’t a fan of Venom and had no idea how to do it, resulting in over crowding this movie.
That’s the main problem with many comic book films failing with tons of executive meddling. The studios needs to trust the directors and writers more and take their time to develop their franchise.
The original ending had Gwen being kidnapped by Eddie and getting held hostage by Venom and Sandman. MJ is the one who went to Harry and convinced him to help Peter. But Raimi decided it wouldn't work and that MJ had to be the one kidnapped. Kirsten Dunst said she was upset because that meant she had to get kidnapped at the end of the movie again for the 3rd time in a row.
35:37 the key element here, no pun intended, is that the explosions were incendiary rather than kinetic (fireballs not shockwaves)…we saw how water can at least slow him down or defeat him but allow him to dry out and come back The fire here would have easily been hot enough to melt the sand particles… And what do we get when you melt then cool sand?
I literally discovered the whole Green Goblin McRib thing *two days ago* and I watch this video and you're referring to it. I'd was so nearly completely blindsided by that.
Alot of people dont understand "Venom". The "Venom symbiote" is only called that because it references the bond the suit and Brock made as he called himself Venom. The name Venom in particular means the specific combination of the symbiote and its host. You cant have Venom without one or the other. The original Venom was of course Eddie Brock but theres also been Mac Gargan (Scorpion), Flash Thompson (Agent Venom), and several other less notable versions. So when people say "Venom" and they mean just the suit, its incorrect. The better term is the Venom symbiote
It's kind of insane how many people are shocked at Peter still being incredibly dorky when he's got the symbiote. Dr. Connors explicitly states the symbiote enhances the characteristics of its host. Peter is a dork who from the beginning of the movie was a bit a full of himself. The symbiote enhanced that. All of it. It's why he's so incredibly dorky while thinking he's the sh!t. I think going into this movie from the angle of "let's see the memes" is a huge disservice and severely warps the way you view the film. The dialogue isn't any less corny than in the last two of the trilogy, you're just not watching for the actual story this time.
"How do you fight sand? It's rough, and course, and it gets everywhere!" .... Ho V... No... you didnt .... ! XD XD XD I see what you did there lmao ! Love it

Seeing every meme in live action for the first time is really epic
While this movie is.... very very strange, I do love it in all it's Sam Raimi goofy weirdness: it's like an old kids cartoon come to life, and I love it for it.
The one who is with Gwen is Andrew Garfield's version, in The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2. A lot of people don't like those films, but I really recommend you watch them to decide for yourself. (I have a soft spot for them personally)
Regardless, amazing video as always, probably one of my favourite vids of yours yet. Keep up the good work!
I love the first Amazing Spider-Man but wish The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was good
@@questworldiangreenknight7455 TASM2 has a lot of the problems this film has. they both could have been saved in the edit but weren't.
I think I heard once that, aside from this movie meant to have been totally different (studio interference messed with the script), Bully McGuire's "edginess" was a realistic take because this version of Peter would find the emo-like behavior to be edgy, so it's true to his character. It's odd, but it oddly works :P
Oh, also, all the dancing was "practice" for the night in front of MJ.
This MARY JANE is a huge red flag
😂
My theory is that Asian guy that was shining light in Peter Parker’s face was Martin Li before he became Mr. Negative
The writing is weird, which makes it more quotable and iconic😂
"GET OUT OF HER LIFE!" *Next scene* "He just needs to talk to her and work it out."
“The third one was…a choice…”
About as apt a description as I’ve ever heard…
What's interesting is that despite all the complaints about Topher's Eddie/Venom, this version is actually lifted nearly bit by bit from the comics, the original depiction of Eddie was not as the huge brute he later became known as, but much like here he was a competing photographer who felt wronged by Peter, even the church scene is accurate, except that inthe original Eddie was asking God for forgiveness, not to kill Peter.
Yeah him asking god to do that felt really… off
Wasn't it originally he was asking for revenge, or a way to get back at Peter? Not murder but something to hurt Peter? And that is where the symbolism of the symbiote being 'given' to him comes from? Or am I completely remembering wrong?
When she said, "get the mcrib" I about died 😂
@19:30 i just know in my soul you were about to say "uh ohhh hes black" and i feel robbed of the laughter that would've brought me
Harry wasn't a supervillain until he took the Goblin Formula like his father did.
“It’s course and it gets everywhere” 😂😂😂
So um... do people still not undersand that the _Symbiote_ is making Peter an asshole? Guess not...
"What are you waiting for? Chinese New Year?"
I use that line literally everyday driving in traffic.
"how do you fight sand?" yea, sand will turn you into Darth Vader as well
I hate sand
I always liked for Tobey’s Peter who is probably the most nerdy the characters ever been, that just because the symbiote wants peter to be cool doesn’t mean peter knows what that looks like
THE LEGENDARY BULLY MAGUIRE WAS BORN
I mean. Norman wasnt super into blowing ppl up and flying around in an elf costume till the green stank shower either 😂
Coming off of Spider-Man 2 (which is perfect in almost every way), this movie is really weird, but there is still so much good to love about this movie. The camerawork, music, and action are all exceptional, and a lot of the slower moments work really well.
It was a better direction to go in my opinion.
About sand: "It's course and it gets everywhere" 😍
You've come a long way Vic 😁
Peter: Marco
VKunia: Polo
🤣🤣🤣
About a boy learning the responsibility of becoming and man through being Spider-Man lol
That part where Harry remembers everything and he's like "My father die right" and they edited it where peter was like "yeah" always gets me 😂
My favorite part! 14:20 She just sounds slightly irritated and it's hilarious! 😂
Watch the Editor's Cut and you'll talk later.
The way u said at dinner he be like YOU KILLED MY FATHER was hilarious 😂😂🤣 your face
J. Jonah Jameson listening to the music during the Bully Maguire dance scene: "Not quite my tempo."
"How do you fight sand? It's course, and it gets everywhere"
😂😂
10:07
And that is Steve Valentine. He played the part of Harry Flynn in Uncharted 2, one of the greatest games of all time.
28:00 I like that iconic legendary dancing 🤣❤
vicki wouldn't even know about the twist of bruce campbell as mysterio 😭
(not joking) I can do the Bully Maguire dance perfectly. I had to watch it on loop for about 40 minutes straight but I can do it flawlessly now.
35:37 the key element here, no pun intended, is that the explosions were incendiary rather than kinetic (fireballs not shockwaves)…we saw how water can at least slow him down or defeat him but allow him to dry out and come back
The fire here would have easily been hot enough to melt the sand particles…
And what do we get when you melt then cool sand?
I literally discovered the whole Green Goblin McRib thing *two days ago* and I watch this video and you're referring to it. I'd was so nearly completely blindsided by that.
Also just FYI, your description on this one is for Deadpool 2, you might want to fix that.
„I want more Tobey Maguire SpiderMan“
-Patience 😌
"You know, i guess one person can make a difference"
You made a difference and the entire world miss and love you so much STAN LEE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved Spiderman 3. It was funny watching Peter going crazy with the Venom suit.
36:10 The 2 big weaknesses of the symbiotes are loud sounds and fire.
"How do you fight sand? It's rough, and course, and it gets everywhere!" .... Ho V... No... you didnt .... ! XD XD XD I see what you did there lmao ! Love it
Lol you mentioned Tobey not wearing socks with his boots. Tom Holland said gets his boots on by putting plastic bags over his feet so they slide right in. BUT it does give him “mad sweaty feet” to quote him.
30:15 Actually, the symbiote doesn't have name at all.
Venom is a combination of the symbiote and Eddie.
The symbiote isn't a disease!😂
The Sandman:
Anakin Skywalker: ***Sweats Profusely***
Sandman: 'I killed your uncle.' Spidey: 'Hey man, it's cool. Be on your way.'
