    This is the "REAL" Journey......Before they went commercial (Not that I blame them $$$$$) but their pre- Perry stuff really showcases what great musicians they really are.

      I like this early progressive Journey but they as a band would have faded into obscurity if they had not brought Perry into the band!

    R.I.P. George. This song along with "Nickel & Dime" and "Midnight Dreamer" are among three of my favorite Progressive ROCK era Journey songs. I always knew Journey was going to break it big. I was sure journey would fly by and bury Pink Floid. I just never thought in a million years that it would happen by selling out to bubble gum top 40.

      Agree 100%. Saw a few of those historic Journey concerts at Winteland. Golden Gate Park with Yesterday & Today (March of '75), during my early teen years. They rocked back then...along with their first three studio LPs!

    My favorite song by the real Journey. Actually, the entire album is phenomenal. Real rock, then Perry came along, and they went pop. 70's were about rock music and they had it down.

    Prior to Steve the fairy Perry they were a great Fusion progressive rock band. I saw them open up for Emerson Lake and Palmer in 1976 what a show😊

    • @edljnehan2811
      @edljnehan2811 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @kathydigi3537 because he is and because I can. Would you prefer I didn't call him that and just called him a fruit?? Let's see the problem with that is fruit doesn't rhyme with Perry. Now if you have any more complaints tell them to your wife hahaha

    • @kathydigi3537
      @kathydigi3537 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I don’t have a wife or a husband ! Why would you call him a fruit . From what I know he likes women . He was with Sherrie for almost 6 years and fruit is very derogatory term . You are a bit off .

    • @edljnehan2811
      @edljnehan2811 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @kathydigi3537 I think he was a switch hitter so really there's not much difference. He ruined Journey from a musicianship standpoint destroying a great progressive rock group for pop bubble gum. Did he write that song Sherry is a tribute to your wife or something?? You say I'm a bit off, I say that's putting it mildly hahaha

      @ that’s what Herbie wanted and he wanted Steve .
      He wanted money and they had no labels . You
      Might be right about Steve as he had
      only a few girlfriends and was very much against having kids . I never thought of that . Silly of me .

      Probably some truth to that. If you listen to the last Santana album before the parting of ways this sounds like a natural progression from Santana's work. Whereas Santana probably stagnated EDIT: "Caravanserai" I've got the vinyl album and I still cant spell it without looking it up...("Song Of The Wind")

    • @Rekeza
      @Rekeza 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ianburton8050 this is solely credited to rhythm guitarist George Tickner, who wasnt a part of Santana. Not sure his true contribution but I see no reason to solely credit him unless he did write it, since it's the only song on the album with 1 musician credited to it.

    • @ianburton8050
      @ianburton8050 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rekeza It may be a bit like "provenance" in painting... the signature on the bottom is definitive but the influences are less clear. And it depends on how complete it was when Tichner brought it to the group.
