Alright, let's clarify something that I honestly thought many folk knew about already but I guess not...! :D
In solo DS, it's okay to wear two armor pieces usually.
In DST, damage is distributed two both pieces of armor at the same time and still calculates mitigation and actual damage taken differently. In other words, just use single pieces of armor in DST and know you'll be good with double in DS.
You will damage both pieces of armor if you get hit while wearing them, meaning you are lowering the durability of two, separate armors at once. So, again, in DON'T STARVE TOGETHER it is a slight no-no to wear two armors but you'll be better off doing so in solo DON'T STARVE.
I know they want to balance the game around multiplayer so that everything isn't too easy, but it really aggravates me that armor protection doesn't multiply in DST like it does in vanilla.
OH MY GOD, ALL THOSE YEARS I'VE BEEN JUST WASTING ARMOR? WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LOGS?!
O, thx u. I really dint know how the armor works in DST Dx
Huh I really didn't know that. So I've been basically doing it wrong the whole time, struggling to have both head and body gear at the same time. Quick question though, does speed stack? Like the walking cane and amulet? I'm sure you mentioned it in one of your videos but by Wilson's beard, I can't remember...
Emma,
Yes, speed does stack!
Beard: No, you cannot stack armor in DST.
Me, who's been using helmets and armor at the same time:
D:
Same
My dragonfly fight maaay have been a tad bit wasteful 😆
You should do *all things (insert biome name)*
I agree (insert biome name) is great
I agree, You should also do All things (Insert biome mame).
Wes: Who are you? (Sign language)
Grass suit: I am you
but better...
you can burn the grass suit after all
yes burn the mime (and dash) for bone shards
Man I love how fast you publish these good and informative dst videos. You help me and my friends to get through this hard and good game. Thank you.
Ur name is tjark?
scailmail: *EXIST*
new update Willow Players:Well now looks like i hear op
0:26 "...But you'll need 2 grass and 2 twigs to craft it anyway."
Uhh... That's not 2 grass. That's 10.
2 is the new 10.
Let's just say Beard is teaching us binary system along with DST guides! xD
@@edinaldoc1 2 is decimal and binary is just 1 and 0
@@Chilldudenocap That's exactly what i said
Beard said "2 is the new 10", and 2 is the decimal value equivalent to 10 in the binary system
Doesn’t matter. It’s still useless either way
Combat 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Can you do a guide on having friends on DST?
We all fail to have friends on DST when it clearly says Dont Starve Together.
This is the most sad comment going
Yeah, but where's this guide though?! Cuz like... 🥺
@@evelynknight5627 I've been waiting for a year😢 and still nothing.
@@FlawedNicely try a year and a half 😔
Add me I can't find anyone to play with in this game

With the night armor, hits from the baddies will hit you physically and emotianlly
You're gonna get bonked, have no doubt there.
But what if I could tell you how to save some hair?

Can you do a video on magic please
Pls, all kiting patters of baddies
The Beard 777 I don’t even play this game just here for the amazing voice work telling about things I have no use for
Thanks for all the guides Beard!
I'm not very good at Don't Starve, but these things help me a butt ton!

Do you know what, this is a youtuber who listens to his comments nice XD.
Yeah tat was funny I shoulda commented that
Thank you for an awesome guide! Two suggestions for guides for a noob like me:
A guide just like this but for food. Some recipes that you usually set up, meat sources etc. I'm currently playing Wigfrid and I make honey nuggets and honey ham, as well as jerky ofc.
A guide for important structures to get in your base. Took me ages to realise the Prestihatitator even existed, let alone what it was.
Was just looking for this in the guide and I was so happy when I found it, my sister and me love your videos
Actually, as some extra info on armor stacking:
Armor does kinda stack in DST, but not in the same way as it does in DS
In DST, armor only stacks when it comes to durability, not protection
So, for example:
If you're wearing a Log Suit with 100% durability, and you get hit by a Deerclops (75 damage), you take 15 damage, and your armor takes 60 damage, which corresponds to 19% of its durability
On the other hand, if you're wearing a Log Suit and a Football Helmet, and you get hit by a Deerclops, you take 15 damage, and your armor takes 60 damage, but, since you're wearing 2 pieces, the damage is divided between them, so the Log Suit takes 30 damage, and the Football Helmet takes the other 30 (which corresponds to 9,5% of their durability)
So yea, wearing the 2 pieces of armor together does not waste more armor than wearing them separately, but it also does not increase your protection
The damage still gets distributed between the two making them essentially last a lot shorter than they would otherwise so again;
In solo DS, it's okay to wear two armor pieces usually.
In DST, damage is distributed two both pieces of armor at the same time and still calculates mitigation and actual damage taken differently. In other words, just use single pieces of armor in DST and know you'll be good with double in DS.
Wait armor doesn’t stack…?
Iv wasted so many logs and pig skin…
Oof
Yeah I never knew that either thats kinda stupid in all honesty
Well, you didn't exactly waste them
Armor does stack in DST, but not in the same way it does in DS
In DST, armor only stacks in terms of durability
So, when you use a Log Suit and Football Helmet together, the damage taken will be divided between them, so they'll last longer than if you were wearing them separately
same I never knew...
Yeah damage resist dont stack but at least the damage splits so there is that
I dont even play dst but watching your guides is just so intertaining
Marble Suit-For the people who are just too lazy to kite enemies, like me. (Stands there and attacks)
"I WILL GO AGE OF EMPIRES VILLAGER ON YOUR ASS!"
Marble suit only for dragonfly, tanking is not the best
how do you keep putting out well-edited and scripted video's every day, respect.
Work ethic, that's pretty much it actually.
Great vid as always beard!
Thanks you for this video this has also made me feel better in life
I love how he says "and its magical"
Thanks for putting me in Beard!
A guide on what to place in your base and any biomes that would be ideal for baseing year round would be awesome
I just wanna say you are really efficient, not only your videos are really good, you do them really quickly, are you a professional editor or something similar? Great job man!
Self-taught editor and all. It helps to have a steady work ethic too!
The tankiest you can POSSIBLY be is Wolfgang full stomach thulcite crown and night armor/marble suit and a dish to give extra defense and garlic powder
oh i see your channel aged well, good job man
1 grass

There are probably plenty of videos on Krampus and naughtiness, but you are by far my favorite DS/DST channel so please make a video on it !
I've been teasing a Krampus video for years... Man, I'm lazy.
@@TheBeard777 says the dude who has been spewing out quality content pretty much every day for a good while! I would call that anything but lazy
Hey beard can you do a magic video on allthe magics? Thanks if you do!
He already did, I believe.
Damn You Are Fast With This Videos!
"So you not only have an armor that makes you invincible, it never *breaks* and can be refueled efficiently.
Again, it's frickin *broken* ."
* CONFUSED SCREAMING*
Da shell helmet thing+bone armor=Omni man invincible
Thank you !
Nice right when i got back into the game
You should do all hats now, my bearded friend
Okay, I think I have a some-what way of using the grass suit viably. What if, In DS, along with a battle helm/football helmet/thulecite crown/anything with decent damage absorption, you use a grass suit as well? It would stack the effects, I’m pretty sure. Although, I usually just use the body-slot for a storage item (If I’m lucky, a Krampus Sack).
You're right but do you really want to go through all that just for a grass suit?! XD
The Beard 777 meh, I said some-what viable, and it’s not like I’m doing it. I’ll keep my extra storage, thank you very much, grass suit.
Also thanks for responding.
Thks, this video helped me with my props
You should make a showcase or review the different fire types
Kiting paterns to all baddies whoud be a cool idea
Discounts don't add up. Alrighty then, marble suit for tanking, helmet for venturing out!
You made a guide in armors and weapons, what is next? The tools guide!
JUST The thing i need 👍
i ttried to get some knowledge on dst - now after two days of guides i feel like i fell down a fucking rabbit hole... but at least a entertaining one. love your videos
Well then, happy that you are learning and thanks for watching! Good luck with your game!
@@TheBeard777 i need that luck so much- so far i always died to the hound attack on day 10 :D but next time i will be prepared- ham bat and football helmet here i come :P thank u for the reply and haave a great start in 2021

Could you do a guide on base design or location?
I think he already did that
That was quick
Hey beard, could you please do a guide on how to get to the ruins/how to find them?
Have a whole series of cave guides that lead to and through the ruins friend!
Hey beard iv been supporting for about 2 years now and...IWuvUrVids
3:15 best part XD XD! Can your next guide be on tools?
Thank you so much for showing my comment
What about wigfrids damage nullifier, does that stack with armor?
Hello Beard! Can you make a video about preparing winter but not tutorial, we (for new players) need gameplay with your best tactics
Asking for a full playthrough of Winter/Winter Prep or something seems a bit outside the scope of the channel, I think the tutorial works fine. As a fairly bad player myself though, this is all you really need to do in order to get through Winter:
#1: Make sure you have a food source. The simplest way for a new player to survive Winter is just to keep a Crockpot on standby, and make Meatballs using the abundant ice in wintertime. (1 of any meat item + 3 fillers like Ice)
#2: Make sure you can stay warm. Thermal Stones are easy to make and everyone in Winter/Summer should carry one. Certain characters like Wilson and Willow can fight back the cold. Ideally, you want to shave a bunch of Beefalo while they sleep so you can make a Winter Hat (or better yet beefalo hat), but Rabbit Earmuffs can also work if you're not experienced enough, and even without warm clothing you CAN still get by on just a thermal stone. *Make sure you always have enough logs and grass to place a temporary campfire if you ever start freezing.*
#3: Prepare for Deerclops. The easiest way a new player can deal with him is to just leave their base during the last few days of Winter, that way if he does show up you can just run away.
As long as you do those three things, you can survive Winter and it's a lot easier than it seems. Winter's true challenge is taking advantage of all the things that happen during it (eg. getting a Walking Cane, getting an Ice stockpile, killing Deerclops...) but surviving it just takes a little know-how.
2 Grass and Twigs to craft a Grass Suit? You sure can read Beard.
Time is 0:22
Flim flams slips on the green jam.
Sir, since your guide is so easy for newbies to understand, have you thought about making a video about methus puzzle for simple solutions.
That snail hat reminds me of snail bob
I think kiting guide would be fun
Who needs armor when you can play as Wortox and just ignore everything by teleporting away from all your troubles
not everyone mains wortox
Bone helm make you insane without any downsides lol
Except for the fact that you're insane so nightmare creatures are going to be constantly spawning...?
Do a guide on non armor clothing pieces
Hah , we are moving like a tank 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh my god , i have laughed for 2 hours
There seem to be more things you need to prep for in each season than there is TIME to prep beforehand. Where the heck do you start??
Two grass and two twigs to craft a grass suit? Hot damn!
2 is the new 10!
that GoT reference was golden
the tankiest you can be ie thulcite crown and armor unless if u like free hits with the crown and the skeleton armor er not the thulcite suit the nightmare armor and marble suit
Wait a second, I didn’t see or hear about the Weather Pain in this vid.
It feels so unnatural.
The weather pain isn’t armour? Right?
Just imagine of how cool it would be if the other cactus arm so the enemy takes damage as Wellers you I’m basing this off of the Minecraft forms of Chapman but I know there’s a cactus in the game as well as Minecraft
Best base locations next
oh yeah yeah
Marble suit: It cripples your mobility, so you wont be able to run away from anything... but why would you need to?
i think football helm should have 75% damage reduction so it makes the battle helmet better in comparison and log Armour not useless unless in early season changes like winter before you get a puffy jacket, unless they make a bag that can go on your head, there isnt any point in creating a log suit when a helmet with cheaper materials, the same durability, the same protection, and the ability to wear bags in combination with it with the added bonus of a 20% water reduction exists. it needs some sort of pay off because its basically better in every way compared to the log suit unless you need specific items on your head like an eyebrella.
Your the best
Hey beard could you do a video on traps. Fire farm and such as most people here including me has as much know how on traps does a porcupine does on heart surgery.
4:06 nice game of thrones reference
Hey you forgot Slurpers, clearly the best headgear of them all
No armor.
"I have no idea what the next video will be but can you put my comment in it anyway?" made my day :D
so what happens if I use 2 armor
example (logsuit + Football helmet)
for example 10x hit football will destroy the item
and if I use Log + Helm
then it takes 20x hits to destroy the armor or remains 10x even if I use the log + helmet together
please help
@thebeard777
I'll say a dumb question probably asked already but when will you do a hamlet guide?
0:27 2 grass for a grass suit, seems legit
Nice
Bone armor is OP !
Vortex Cloack : I'm about to end this man's whole Carreer
Bone armor is light-years better than the vortex cloak! :D
I must be so lucky cause the first time I ever fought a snurtle, I got that armor lol
Noice!
question: Would there be a guide on all hats?
Does the bee queen crown effect work on Walter? Or not because he doesn’t believe in fashion
Can you do a video on the 3 ruins in the caves
I have a series of guides on the caves and ruins already!
The one dislike was the grass suit
You should do how to make a base or how to survive
Con you do a tutorial about how to build a base?
Hey @The Beard 777 I have a question. I like to play as Wigfrid due to her combat abilities and she can craft that helmet which she can also give to other players and it's pretty good. So considering that armor doesn't stack in DST, it would be useless to wear both her helmet and a log suit for example? So I should wear either only helmet or only chest armor.
It would be somewhat "useless", yes. You could do it and be alright but I would really just stick to one armor at a time.
Can do do a “check-list” for autumn?
What tool tips info mod thing is he using that shows values
Are u going to make a cosmetic guide
The new update includes the inventor which has a new hat it's the damage numbing of pigskin helm yet 600 durablity instead of 400
Can you do a video on magical Don't Starver Together objects?
Likely soon!
Now that you have made an armor and weapons guide, maybe you could talk tools?
Scared and military biome tutorial please
Can you make a early game guide?
