Ewecus got me so well.
I hunted it down as Webber, it snotted me and drop kicked me. I sat there baffled and kept saying, “It DROP KICKED ME?”
I know this is 2 years late but you may be pleased to hear that the Ewecus I tracked RIGHT NEAR MY BASE got itself stuck in my Hound traps, and they stun locked it, so it would just sit there staring vacantly into space for a while and then 'ka-CHUNG!' another trap would go off. It was a beautiful experience.

I know I'm very late but I literally just died TWICE a few minutes ago from a Ewecus. I was so shocked by seeing the Ewecus and even more surprised that it drop kicked me. I swear, I did not expect that.
We all felt that pain didnt we? First time I learned about hunting, I started a new world and thought yeah, lets get some free meat! But well my first spawn was an ewe and It jumped me, killing me in the process lol

If I wanted nightmare fuel I probably farm a stack with Maxwell with 2 dualist a worker and a hambat with some armor and just fight for 3-4 days.
After that we won't need a reason to go nuts for a while :)

They really need to implement a feature where you can tame the ewecus. It would be quite interesting to have a pet ewecus. They also need to make a use for the phlegm so maybe you can throw it at mobs and immobilize them.
Would be cool if you could put it in the new characters gun and shoot it. Instead of heavy damage make it light and immobilize.

@@aykay521 Considering that you first need to find, and then kill Ewecus to even get Phlegm, and that it only drops few of these. I think it's balanced, powerful weapon, as a reward for hard task.

I just finished the first hunt and the experience was really fun! I just worried for a while because I couldn’t Hit the damn Koalefant, but in the end it reached an edge where I could kill it, the 8 pieces of meat and the trunk were definitely worth it
Hunts are some of the best things in this game, more folk need to do them more often!
You can use phlegm as bait, I put one in the middle of my pig pen in a little fence to keep the pigs out so the ghosts will kill them as werepigs during full moons and also to make it easy to start a pig civil war other days. Of course ANY food item will do including rot so phlegm is not very useful but it does have 1 use.
Edit: protip; build your pig farm in a graveyard w/ bait in the middle and on full moons the pigs who stayed out trying to eat the bait will become wherepigs and keep mindlessly trying to eat it, AND the graves will spawn ghosts that will kill the wherepigs.

@@TheBeard777 Easyer to obtain yes, but I think all baits are equally effective, besides putting it out too be seen acts a bit like a trophy display. ("look I killed a Ewecus") And its not as though there is much else to do with the stuff.
Phlegm would be good to create sticky traps or sticky bombs which could slow down enemies also it could be built around the base to slow down hound attacks or something. I can also see use for it as a fly trap which could trap butterflies and bees which the player could harvest time to time.
I believe Klei has some plans with it otherwise it would not be in the game.
It's been in the game for years already so there is that to take into account, however, with QoL updates now a thing I could see them adding something small yet additional for phlegm, yes!
Using a boomerang on the Koala can agro it immediately if you don't have the time or patience. The boomerang requires a plank, some silk and 1 charcoal.
My only problem with the boomerang is that I bonk myself in the head with it almost every time
I have a tip, if your wearing marble armor, you can hit it 7 or 8 times before you can try to run off, but with the marble on you can run just fast enough so that it can't hurt you and this makes everything a whole lot easier
I'm sorry but I don't understand. The marble armor decreases player speed, how can you it it 7 or 8 times and still get away without getting hit? Are you talking about the bone armor?
@@aludis no I mean the marble! if you do it perfect, you can start attaching it faster because u go slower! you can go just fast enough so that it cant get you, so as soon as it attaches, and you immidiently attach it, it will work! srry about spelling.

Phlegm is a hunger restoring food item that won't ever spoil! Characters who can deal with insanity well like Sigfrid can really benefit from this.

I like using a boomerang early game to get the agro of the kolefant without wasting too much time chacing them around :D

@@dadoomdragon5563 120 insulation isn't easy winter. I get the torch, but I wouldn't burn everything in a world you plan on using a ton.
id like to mention how easy it is to deal with the varg, especialy if you cant fight, just get a walking cane and luer it near a boss, then use a road with your walking cane to out run the varg, the varg will be out of reach pretty quickly and will auto agro on the boss.
I actually find it cool that Maxwell examines a Koalaphant and says, “they are distant cousins for the Beefalo”
Edit:I also think that if you don’t have a good old Wilson on your side, I think you should eat phlegm to go a little bit insane (to the point where rabbits become...black.) and hunt rabbits for a chance to get beard hair, nightmare fuel, or even monster meat for your meatball needs. Heck, monster meat can even be a filler to meaty stew! Very nice, if you ask me.
not worth it AT ALL to go insane just so u can waste your grass and twigs farming a unreliable food source. just make a spider farm

In my first DsT multiplayer experience, me and my friend hunted down a koalaphant and when we finally tracked it down we had to wait for it to fall asleep because we were too slow... Also, once we started fighting it, it killed my friend...

I remember the first time I saw a koalaphant.
Prepare for story time...
So I was really new to don’t starve and had no idea what I was doing. I found a suspicious dirt pile thinking it led to Chester because I knew about him. At the end I saw the koalaphant walking around minding its own business. I thought It was a sanity thing(like the rabbits) and when sanity was low beefalo turned into koalaphant. I hit it somehow and it chased me forever, I ended up not paying attention then I got stuck in the dark and died.

Phlegm could be used before sleeping in tent to get back the sanity plus health. Only way i can think of to make use of it.
One little tip about hunting is to use a boomerang, that way you won’t have to chase koelephants or whatever you’re hunting to the edge of the map. Use it once and they’ll come running and they’re simple to make too. One board + one spiderweb + one charcoal = a boomerang.

Once i found a varg on day 3 while playing with my friend, we restarted. No shit, i died 3 times to that thing tryna get my stuff back
There is SO much you need to do it this game in such a short time. How anyone has enough time to build base, diverse farms, hunt multiple animals, gather, survive, fight bee queen, bosses, cook, craft AND MORE
There's no reason for all this to be done ASAP! :D
Take it one step, one challenge, one task at a time - season to season!

phlegm can be used for nightmare fuel farming, to keep your sanity low as killing shadows raises sanity
and it is my second favorite food when playing as maxwell only second to green caps
Also some games will not spawn eweucus kinda like juicy berries and normal berries
Because of you I have gotten back into don't starve, made a server on DST and killed my first deerclops XD the best thing to do in this game is keep your cool and not get spooked by things so you don't panic and keep the rhythm of the killin' until you get through it XD so far day 32 in one session while also not having died (although some others may have). Could you point me in the direction of getting eggs on this please, as pengulls are a pain to deal with, and I have a bird in a cage atm and one tall bird nest (ironically in a huge meteor field), as I'd like to get onto the peirogi train asap as only had 1 between the 4 of us with deerclops

Omg I HATE hounds. That's y I always make sure I live by beefalos. When they come to attack me, I run around the beefalo which makes the hounds hit the beefalo which makes the beefalo attack the hounds when they then kill the hounds for me 😌

Still not entirely sure why Varg is sometimes referred to as "warg" I know the letter w is common is Don't Starve names, but the varg is the only example I know of.

i have the trunk but the nearest spider nest is a spider queen in the swamp biome near murms and tentacles which is only accessible through a worm hole about 5 biomes away what do I do it’s gonna rot
