  • this is a quick video i made while tuning a friends 306. this just shows the same as darrenjlobb's video, but to help show how the stage 1 is performed on the car.
    kkk turbo allen key is 2.5mm.
    lucas max fuel allen key is 4mm.

    @urbex2007 No, the only way to make use of the extra fuel is to increase the amount of air, returning the a/f ratio to 13 ish, Since he is increasing his turbo pressure, that means more air so he has to compensate for this by increasing the amount of fuel.

    yeah pretty much mate. as long as its a dturbo and not a HDI. there is only two types of fuel pump and this is the hardest one to do(lucas). and as you can see its pretty simple if you see it being done.

    I have a 75 hp engine with a small turbo or "soft turbo" without intercooler. It has no boost compensator. Where can i get one?

    Did similar to this years ago to my dturbo, with bosch pump. Really makes it more aggressive. It was a beast by the time we'd finished with it. Eventually the rear axle gave up at a set of lights and threw a wheel, with hub and brake, into a police officer walking 😆 🤣 had the car taken away cos they deemed it dangerous 😆 he knew what i did as the top speed screw wasnt there haha😊

    @icecage001 These don;t have ECU's, they are mechanical fuel pumps hence why you can tune them, rather than being electrical

    its very noticable mate. go some where with a straight bit of road. and do a 0-60 time. it will be about 11-12sec standard. do this and you will take that down to 9 sec. a few more things like free flowing exhaust and K&N replacement. and you will be about 8 sec. each engine has diffrent outputs. but yeah its very noticeable.
    in short its free power. doesnt cost you and it takes you half an hour to do. makes overtaking much safer as you've got more power to just get up and go.

    Hey man just looking there great video is that heat rap you have on your's there and do you think it makes much diff

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @kingding48 if you do the whole pipe like i did and made a blanket to go under the intercooler so the rising heat from the engine doesnt rise in to the intercooler yeah it make a diffrence. if youve been stood engine running for a while it which is where most of soak would happen it does prevent it.

    not by much. if you do a small turn say 5-8degree which isnt alot. u will feel a little more poke and better mpg as u dont need to plant it as much. 15degree and more and it will go down. but it all depends on how much u boot it. iv had 48mpg if ur like me and ur always sitting on the boost down lanes but do take it easy from time to time you will return. 38-40mpg.

    Your turning the wron way on the actuator. You need to turn it anti clock wise to raise the boost

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes mate you really need to adjust the boost pressure. as the standard boost maybe too low to get the best out of the fueling. but you shouldnt attempt to adjust the boost without a boost gauge as you can run too much boost can kill the head gasket.
    halfords normally have a boost guage for about £20 if it doesnt have the rubber pipe or a T piece with it ,go to B&Q and you can buy a box of T pieces for £3 and they have plent of "cut to length" pipe for about 80p a metre. have fun!

    ever screwed this adjusted in as far as it will go?
    My pump was on last legs and i tried it but it was sucking in air(shaft seal), eventually it just wouldnt start;I have a video of one of these pumps in bits.

    How do I screw the pump on a 1.9 non turbo xsara

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @neilpritch2010 in gear mate. so that your using the movement off the wheels to rotate the pump.

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you need to wind the actuator out (anti clock) as your shortening it. then tighten the lock nut back up. make sure you do the on boost fuel screw too or you wont gain much.

    just yo add if anyone finds this thread easiest way to find the screw hole for pump timing is to jack a wheel of the ground put in a gear and turn the that wheel took 20 seconds to find the screw hole that way lol

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Woohoo! Yea that's 4 different turbos alright well done! 2 of which were never fitted to the dturbo mechanical from factory and are used on the Hdi engine which is not part of this video

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you might be 180 degrees out so moving the car alot more. maybe foot or so. a good torch or a camera phone with a good light on it can help you see in side. it will look like a black spot as the diesel will be in the head of the bolt so it will be hard to tell what it is. keep trying. getting the cap off an on is the hard bit.

  • @nizmo7
    @nizmo7  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    take it from the T piece on the boost compensator pipe. go left of the cambelt and there is a hole. poke it through there and u will end up in the drivers side wheel arch. then take this behind the arch liner and behind the wing and poke it through to the door hinge. then you can either try and pull it thought the wiring gromit but i wouldnt recommend it as it mite upset the sh*te wiring. but just bring it in via the door shut. and loop it under the dash to where ever you want.

  • @nizmo7

    @urbex2007 you obiously know fuck all about this. black smoke on a diesel is the result of unburnt diesel. by giving a lucas or bosch pump a tune known as a stage one which is were the fuel amount is increased you are delivering a higher amount of diesel compaired to the orignal lean burn. this will result in more power and has been proven about a million times! the only reason you get black smoke is if you over fuel massively by turning more then 15 degree.

    @diggerspug306 mate your being an twat now. the 1999 is a hdi not a mechanical dturbo so that would be fitted from standard on the hdi. if you bought a 306 dturbo it wouldnt be fitted from factory. these cars are at least 14-19years old an have all sorts fitted to them by others in that time. just because one car had this doesnt mean its factory. if you think you know better do your own video.
