Movie Summary:
Mischievous youngsters Spanky (Travis Tedford) and Buckwheat (Ross Elliot Bagley) lead an anti-girl organization, and they pick their buddy Alfalfa (Bug Hall) to represent them in an all-important soapbox car rally. When the boys then find their driver canoodling with schoolmate Darla (Brittany Ashton Holmes), they decide they must break up the couple. Unfortunately, while Spanky and his pals are busy meddling in Alfalfa's affairs, their prized race car is nabbed by two young toughs.

Little Rascals goes all the way back to the 1920s and 30s. Hal Roachs Our Gang short films. Silent films and early talkies. Froggy's voice in this movie was dubbed by EG Daily, the voice of Tommy in Rugrats and Buttercup in Power Puff Girls.
But in the originals short films was the real voice of the boy actor.😊

Darla is so adorable like a baby doll. They're all adorable and funny.
The kid who played Buckwheat was also the little boy in Independence Day and he was little Nicky on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The lumber guy was George Wendt (played Norm on Cheers), Miss Crabtree was Daryl Hannah (she was a big star in the 80s), Reba was AJ Ferguson (country music star)
I can still quote this whole movie start to finish my little brother and I used to watch it so often when we were kids 😂
I never realized until the last time I saw this, but Darla stole the racer from Waldo and left him on the side of the road. Thats why he says you'll hear from my lawyers😂

I refuse to get rid of my original vhs copy of both movies with the hard plastic, book-style cover. They’re on my shelf with the rest of my throwback childhood classics.

It's been YEARS since I've seen this movie! Thank you for watching it. I was around 5 when this movie came out, and I had an absolutely HUGE crush on the girl who plays Darla haha.
I quote this movie all the time. I am a 70s baby. Watched them on Sunday morning. My kids and I watched this everyday for at least a week. Great reaction to this.
This movie never gets old. Definitely watch it takes two. The ballet instructor was in all 3 Back to the Future movies, Dennis the Menace. Waldo unfortunately isnt related to Mukuley Culkin, he was actually in full house as one of Michelle's friends. Froggy's voice was actually done by voice actress E.G Daily.
Don’t know if you’ve seen these yet but sister act 1 & 2 and Sarafina are really good ones to watch. Especially since you love music.

This movie is a tribute to the original LITTLE RASCALS/OUR GANG comedy shorts that were made between the 1920s - 1940s. So much that was referenced in this film came from the original films.

Had to pause the video to comment this. The little rascals movie was based off the 1920-1940 show of the same name. A the kid with the glasses aka froggy that’s not his real voice but a voice actor.
The original name was not The Little Rascals. It was Our Gang. The creator and producer Hal Roach sold the name of the serie to MGM in 1938 I think. But when in the '50 Roach developed for tv ( originally , the serie was made for theaters ) the short films he produced before MGM , he had to change the name for The Little Rascals , because MGM had the rights for the original name.

I'm a southern Belle from Alabama and of course i grew up on country music. But I'm a singer and musician and have a great appreciation for other genre of music. But you have to live under a rock to not instantly recognize her face. To many of us, she is a much bigger deal and wonderful surprise seeing her in this movie back when we were kids when this movie came out.
I was 7 years old when this movie came out and I loved it. And I was already a huge Reba fan. I of course liked the other special guest actors like Whoopi and Daryl Hannah showing up in this movie. But Reba is a much bigger deal. She's royalty to country music. Atleast now you have some clue as to who she is. I really hope you will check out her music. Nobody should be deprived of hearing this southern angels voice when she sings.
Not only that but she is a hard working woman with a big smile, big voice and big heart.
On another subject, Mary Kate and Ashley being in this was also very awesome, I just wish we could of seen more of them. They are only 1 year older than me and will turn 38 in June this year. I loved them on full house and in some of their movies.
But the best movie they were in as kids in my opinion was IT TAKES TWO. It's a romantic comedy with some heart warming moments in it. And it has freaking Kirstie Alley in it as well as Steve Guttenburg (from 3 men and a baby movies), and Jane Sibbett who played Ross Gellers ex wife in the show Friends.
This movie is a hit and you must watch it soon. If you love Mary Kate and Ashley, then you must watch this movie.

I used to watch this all the time bc it was one of the very few movies that my grandma owned... it was a VHS too! mind you, I'm only 22 so this wasn't all that long ago 😆

I remember I once thought The Little Rascals was a live action adaption of Rugrats 😂. I think I thought Alfalfa was Tommy, Spanky was Chuckie (don't ask me why), and Darla was Angelica. I guess I never thought about who represented Phil and Lil. This was before I was aware of the what this movie was an adaption of.

This is one of Mariah Carey's favorite movies. Sometimes you can see her doing that hand movement under the chin thing. She thinks these kids are adorable. It's how I found out about this movie in the 90's - she talked about it.

Oh my gosh, holy nostalgia! I was obsessed with this film as a little kid. My sister and I knew it by heart and we'd record ourselves acting it out xD It's so cute. I don't know if Mary-Kate & Ashley were the biggest stars in this film at the time, but they were definitely up there and I'd say they were probably the most popular ones. Full House was still going at the time and everyone was obsessed with them. Of course, Whoopi Goldberg, Reba McEntire and Daryl Hannah were also in this film, so it's hard to say. Oh, and by the way, the kid who plays Waldo was in Full House with the Olsen Twins. He played Derek, one of their character Michelle's best friends. Oh, and It Takes Two is great! :)

What is so funny and a bit creepy is that Bug Hall aka Alfalfa was like twice the age of the girl that played Darla. I believe she was about 5 and Bug was around 9 or 10. While its realistic for a 9 or 10 year old to show interest in girls no boy that age would show interest in a girl so much younger.

If you are looking for more classic 90s kids movies, I used to watch Richie Rich all the time and I’d recommend you watch it (if you haven’t of course).

Love to the dog, Petey! I'm not sure if pitbulls were stigmatized as much in the 90's as they were in the following decades, but I'm glad that they kept that in there. Nanny dogs a lot of people call them, because they can be very good at protecting children. Sucks that some breeds get demonized, when it's all about how the individual dog is raised.
