- ⭐️SINGER finally watches SCHOOL OF ROCK (2003) for the FIRST TIME! 🎶
------------------------------------
Movie Summary:
Overly enthusiastic guitarist Dewey Finn (Jack Black) gets thrown out of his bar band and finds himself in desperate need of work. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite private elementary school, he exposes his students to the hard rock gods he idolizes and emulates -- much to the consternation of the uptight principal (Joan Cusack). As he gets his privileged and precocious charges in touch with their inner rock 'n' roll animals, he imagines redemption at a local Battle of the Bands.

“I’ve just been informed that all of your children are missing. So.” Is one of the greatest line deliveries of all time
Absolutely agree. More like: "I've just been informed that all of your children are missing! So...😃"
the smile of resignation on her face was awesome.
To me, this is THE jack black movie. I was the same age as the kids when this came out and I remember thinking they were so cool.
I think Jack Black has stated that out of all the movies that he has done, this is the one that he feels is his best one.
You can really feel the dedication and his love for music
I loved him in King Kong. Movie would not have been remotely the same without him.
The insinuation of the little girl crying in the principal's office at the beginning is that her parents hit her, unfortunately. The poor principal is just stressed!
After this movie , actual Schools of Rock opened all over the US! Still going strong- thanks Jack Black!
The kids are all real singers and musicians. When Andrew Lloyd Weber restaged Jesus Christ Superstar in 2017 with John Legend, Zach on guitar led the stage band!
Yep there is one close to my house in Texas!
A fact about this movie whenever jack black got upset Miranda's reactions were genuine because she wasn't expecting it
"I've just been informed that ALL your children are missing." Joan Cusack is a comedy genius. 😂
Sadly the lad who played Freddie pasts away, he got in an accident on his pushbike at about 20 years old if I remember right, Jack is amazing, mu kids grew up with this film and now my grandson is obsessed with Jack, x
he was actually 32 just fyi, but either way it’s awful of course.
Oh No! Freddie passed away!
"You're tacky and I hate you"---one of the best cinematic lines of all time!!
😂
That part cracks me up everytime😭😭😭😭😭😭
"Bros before...Women". That was classic. Good on you Senor!
Tenacious D is Jack Black's band (him and his best friend), the movie you're thinking of is "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny" and you should DEFINATELY watch it!!
7:29 Okay so I can only answer this question because I’m taking a history of rock music class and we just covered this topic last week but MTV did change how people listened to rock and for many rock artists it ruined rock n roll. Once MTV began broadcasting, a lot of artists began making music videos for their songs and many of them were huge hits with viewers but others not so much, and a lot of rock artists hated that they (whether they were solo artists or in a band) started falling off because they weren’t putting out videos. They felt that rock music was supposed to be listened to and people needed to use their imagination to enjoy the songs but music videos ruined that aspect of the genre. Fun tidbit, the first song/music video that was ever broadcasted on MTV was Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles 1979 and MTV began broadcasting August 1, 1981 :)
nah, the rise of rap killed rock and roll, not mtv
I think there was a few different things that are responsible but Google is your friend. I'm sure you can find some answers on there.
I love this movie. The kids and Jack Black have performed many times over the years. They made true friendships
I LOVEEEEE how much he respects Rock n Roll🤟😂❤🔥WE STICK IT TO THE MANNN
A movie that has Jack black in it and is different than most of the movies he’s been in would be “the holiday”. It’s a great movie. I’d totally recommend it. ❤
School of Rock is a movie about music, but definitely not a musical. Musicals are when the characters are telling the story through music (usually singing) and they suddenly burst into song while doing non-musical mundane things (think Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd). In this movie, the characters are performing music within the context of the plot. Jack Black’s most well known musical is Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny. I usually don’t like musicals but that is one musical that I really like!
All of the Spice Girls came before Ice Spice
When I clicked the video, I didn't think I'd encounter spice girls disrespect. They live in the same realm as the cats pajamas 😢😭
He should watch Spice World
@@pamelawilliams3144classic!!
when he said that, I almost collapsed 😅 these uncultured people need to be educated!
is he an actual singer lol i thought professionals take courses and learn about the pioneers of music and whatnot
I watched this film for the first time two days ago and omg I wish i saw this when I was younger it is amazing!!! made me fall inlove with rock all over again
If you loved this, you need to watch the School of Rock Reunion. Jack Black and the cast took over a club to play a reunion gig!
One of the greater movies of my childhood, for sure. Such a shame that Kevin Clark, who played Freddy, passed away a couple of years ago at such a young age.
🤚🏼I pledge allegiance to the band of Mr Schneebly. And will not fight him for creative control. And will defer to him on all issues related to the musical direction of the band.
Your Diddy part made me spit bong water in my face
I’m fucking dying right now 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Yikes bro got hit in the face with the forbidden cocktail 😂
There really is a School of rock
Oh how I love Jack Black! Such a good actor! He always brightens my day! His voiceovers are so good and Tenacious D is great!
Tenacious D is jack black's comedy rock duet that he does with Kyle, who actually plays the guy who says "isn't that a song?'' when Jack quotes the song by Whitney Houston. But Tenacious D had a tv show and movie as well.
Tenacious D is a band, my guy! Have you never watched "Tenacious D In The Pick of Destiny"?
Jack's been doing TV and movies and Tenacious D since 1982. He' been a side character in all kinds of projects you wouldn't believe. Like he had roles in the X Files, Waterworld, and Demolition Man!
You want Jack Black recs: The Holiday, Walk Hard, and Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle
And King Kong!
Such a good movie! 🤘Gotta do Shallow Hal
27:31
That song is Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks. One of my four favorite songs, ever.
I can't get over the fact this dude is like bro all my tats are fake.. lol
“High Fidelity “
JB with John Cusak and a fantastic cast & storyline.
About a guy, and his “records”.
One of those roles that nobody else could have played as well.
unfortunately Kevin Clark, the kid who played Freddy, passed away a few years ago in an automobile accident while he was on a bike.
School of Rock actually is Broadway musical too. I seen it when to New York
Jack Black was awesome in this film! I love this movie! Don’t know if you saw Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle but he was in that and he was hilarious!
Jack Black has done so many things, but this is definitely one of my favorites!! If you haven't seen the newer Jumanji movies before I'd highly recommend checking them out because Jack Black (and the rest of the cast) was amazing!
OH and yes Rock of Ages please! #stickittothemaaan
It’s not a musical because a musical requires the actors to NOT be aware that they’re singing. It’s just like normal dialogue.
I believe all the actors knew that they were singing in the musical „Singing in the Rain“. Cheers
@@kenpatton8761 the moments where they’re “performing”, yes. Otherwise, when someone just breaks into song, they don’t acknowledge it.
i knew the entire script of this movie from start to end as a young kid. we had the vhs tape and watched it over and over again lol
Yes react to tenacious d
You kept asking if we think it’s a musical and i most definitely think it is! Also, I don’t know if Broadway has it but on the Westend in England there’s a stage musical of the film with more songs! I love your musical commentary’s- Newsies is on Disney + and is another great musical!
I'd actually say that the movie itself is not a musical. That would be saying that the characters are unaware that they're singing and are doing so to move the story along whereas this is not the case at all throughout the movie. When they sing they are always aware and it's not done in a way like Six where whilst they're aware that they are singing they are all done to push the story along. The same can be said for people who refer to Pitch Perfect as a musical when it simply isn't. They're just shows/movies about music/performing. But if it makes it easier to understand the genre, then they usually will be compiled with other musical theatre songs. Tho I do agree that the actual musical is incredible, I think it potentially has been on Broadway already, around 2015(?) if I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong ofc) and even if it hasn't it's a common musical to do for schools/academies all over. I do know that they've had numerous UK tours in addition to the West End which I DO know debuted in 2016 and I absolutely adore the songs within it. Sorry for making this so long. I just like musicals lol.
I loveeeeedddddd watching this .
Movie referral for you and your two costars : She’s the man
Hilarious movie
RIP to Kevin Clark.
Jackk Black won me over in Tenacious D, it's pure entertainment
This is one of my favorite first time reaction movies to watch. Guaranteed entertainment, laughs, fun! I have never seen any other Jack black film.😂
this is one of my favourite movies!! I was so excited to see this reaction!
Tenacious D is jack and kyles band. They made a musical called The pick of destiny. its amazing.
There's another school of rock that's a documentary about a school that teaches kids by playing a bunch of frank zappa songs its alot of fun
It’s a franchise all over the US now!
"Smooth honest" reactions bro, I'm in!
Nacho Libre is another one of his :)
Tenacious D is Jack Black's band, but they made a movie and it was hilarious, you so need to watch it ❤
It's not quite a musical because the characters aren't singing parts of the story. They're just singing songs. It is a great music movie where the storyline revolves around music. The other type of great music move is the kind that probably isn't about music but has a great soundtrack.
This is such a classic, one of my favs 😂
Jack Black's first movie was Bob Roberts in 1992.
The first time I saw Jack Black was in his rock band Tenacious D, when he did his one hit song Tribute. Way back circa 1998. (?)
#Stikitudemahneosis.
Shallow hal is a pretty funny one with a dash of romance. Great reaction btw! 🤙
Folks have been begging for an Oncor second show, but if feel it is perfect for a one-off. Second surprises are not as hard as the original, but could be fun. I don't want to take any steam from this story. So Stick It To The Man!
Tenacious D is Jack Blacks band.
Ohh! I loved remembering this movie with you after so many years! Great reaction (as always). For me "Tenacious D - Pick of destiny" is most loved one. Hope i will see that reaction too
Definitely need to watch Tenacious D and the pick of destiny, it’s amazing
Zack's song!😭❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
The movie is School of Rock but the opening with The School of Rock was already shot and edited by the time they decided to remove the “the”
Check out Jack Black in movie
Jumanji… Welcome to the Jungle
13:48 I just knew you were gonna eat this whole scene up lmfao
Has anybody recommended “Nacho Libre”? My family and I loved that movie. It portrays small Mexican towns in such a hilarious and sweet way. (We are fans from Mexico) Also it has small “Disney star”. “Rico” from Hannah Montana 😂
Please react to Eurovision! Great musical comedy with Will ferrel and Rachel McAdams (Regina Georde herself) - plus the music is BANGING!
Lots of love from South Africa ❤
Everything he talked about the man ruining music, yes it is true
Hi new sub from South Africa 🇿🇦 this was great
I remember him in Shallow Hal, great movie. Has miss Pepper Pots from Iron Man😭. I’m sorry I don’t feel like looking up her name.
This movie should be required viewing for all children by age twelve!
Check out the movie Mask. Not The Mask with Jim Carrey, buy simply Mask. It stars Cher, Sam Elliott and Eric Stolz. Great movie!
Omg this was my fave movie growing up. Jack Black is hilarious 😂😂
Not all groupies had sex with the musicians. Musicians could never keep up with everyone that wanted to, lol. Some got lucky, some were the bands favs of the area. I was concidered a groupie (following certain bands everywhere) in the late 70s and thru 80s, no never lucky enough, lol. We didnt have social media so to follow our fav bands u had to literally follow them everywhere. #Stickittodamaaan, lol. Jack is so fun and amazing. Live his free style sound singing. Tenacious D a must. Thanx so much, Peace
the pick of destiny is THE jack black movie
Great reaction! This movie was definitely a childhood classic for me, I can't count the number of times I watched this on the portable seatback dvd player in my mom's minivan 🤘
Jack black in year one, Jack black Tenacious D pick of destiny probably his best movie is Nacho Libre, though my favorites are the two newer Jumanji movies. Loved the original too but that has Robin Williams not Jack Black, he also was in the King Kong movie and probably a lot of others.
Shallow Hal
_Excellent reaction!_ i recommend you :
🔥 *Shallow Hal* (2001)

Holy shit I’m dead 12:16 😂😂😂
I love your hair like that!
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny is the funniest Jack Black movie, imo.
Saw Tenacious D at the House of Blues in Anaheim in 2002. They rocked!! 😝
Shallow Hal love that one
"Stick it to the man"
I’m sure others have said this but Pick of Destiny please.
My favorite Jack Black is Jumanji
I THINK his first movie was called "The Jackal" in which he had a small role....
He was in a few movies before that. I think Airborne (with Seth Green) was his first not made for TV movie
Brian plz tell me u have at least heard of the spice girls? 😂
You definitely need to make some shirts that say ouuuu, you know what you are!! 😂😂
That’s insane ! I literally just asked my patrons in a video I did today if I should 🤣🔥
@@mrflickswatches I’m a new subscriber but that’s my favorite thing you say 😂
If Aretha Franklin had a Minimee, she would be Tamika in this movie.
Can you react to Shallow Hal 😂…. Think you ll laugh a lot … great film and message x x
Heck YES so stoked your watching this 😂
Jack black is in a band with kyle gass
posh spice is a spice girl reference
Jack black has a bunch of smaller rolls in some amazing movies, like demolition man, and waterworld
"Stick it to da man." 😂😂 I'm there ! Great reaction so far!
Tenacious D. must see
High Fidelity. Jack is supporting, but worth checking out.
One of his first movies that he was in was Dead Man Walking. You should react to that
