I honestly appreciate the hell out of you for checking out the more obscure or underrated gems that most creators wont watch. Theres several movies ive been dying for someone to watch and your the only one doing them so thank you for that!
I worked at a daycare and the ratio of children to teacher depends on the age of the child. Babies (like 6 weeks old) require 2 teachers for about 7-8 babies. Toddlers (1-2.5) require 1 teacher every 6 kids. 3-4 is 1 teacher every 8 or so kids. And then 5 year-olds get 1 teacher per 10-12 kids.
@johnnyrocket1685 There could be many explanations. One is that the teachers were just straight up not doing their jobs. Another is that something was going on with another kid and all their attention was taken. Another is that the teachers were occupied by another adult. It's easy to lose track of a couple kids, let alone an entire group haha. It could've been anything. Childcare workers are really just underpaid and overworked so it could've simply been an issue of a teacher or two were just too tired to pay enough attention to everyone at once.
Eddie Murphy is just such a huge part of my childhood. My sister and I loved this movie growing up! Like others have commented, I appreciate you reacting to lesser talked about films :)
13:55 I just screamed, "THIS IS WHERE I LEARNT IT!" because I still hum this lime-coconut song and I forgot where it came from and NO ONE knows what I'm talking about, but now I remember and I'm happy to not be crazy XDDD True story I was singing this yesterday, I think my CIA agent was listening
I can confidently confirm we played Simon Says and Telephone/Gossip (which I assume is the same premise: tell a secret down the line via a whisper, see if the message got delivered correctly and get a lesson from the daycare/camp counselors about how gossiping can cloud the original story as it gets passed from person to person). 😂 I love this movie! Have you watched the Help, the original Color Purple or Eve’s Bayou, yet? Beloved is good, too. American film is a literal treasure trove, my across-the-pond-cousin 🫶🏾
Can't believe this is your first time watching one of Eddie Murphys films outside of his role as donkey. You gotta react to 'thousand words' , nutty professor',, 'Dr doolittle', 'life', 'harlem nights' and 'haunted mansion❤ he's great in those roles. Nice reaction btw. Loved this movie as a kid. My mom was also a home daycare provider.
I currently work in a before/after school program "daycare" with summer camp and it breaks my heart to know I have to leave them soon, but I always remember this movie when having crazy, sweet, or just funny moments with the kids.
Seb! I’m so glad you watched this! This is a must see from my childhood! The slapstick and the back n forth! Eddie Murphy and Steve Zahn! Are incredible actors! And funny AF!
30:17 That’s actually Cheap Trick performing Surrender with the actors. I should know, I’ve met Rick Nielsen like 6 times, and his mom. They’re from my hometown. Nice folks. Real down to earth. He always carries Cheap Trick guitar picks on him to give out to fans. I have a few.
I found it cool you got Elle Fanning in this and then you also got Max Burkholder, who is young John in the Ted series. And then Jimmy Bennett also has been in a lot of movies I’ve seen. These kids are growing up to be so successful
Daddy Day Care is one of my all time favourites, especially in terms of comfort movies. I'm going through a difficult loss right now and rewatching your commentary to it is bringing me a bit of joy. Thank you Seb 🖤

Oh yeah i just remembered that there's another Daddy Day care movie called Daddy Day Camp and it has the characters Charlie, Phil, ben, and Max in it again but they were played by different actors oh yeah and the little blonde girl Jamie she was played by Dakota Fanning's sister Elle Fanning
Seb should watch "A Perfect Getaway" Its one of those mystery horror movies that has you asking questions as it leaves you in the dark and gives you a bunch of twists and turns throughout. Its a movie i dont see anyone ever talk about, but the cast is full of well known actors.
Absolutely love this movie and the fact someone is reacting to it! You are amazing! As for any other Eddie Murphy movies, I grew up with knowing him as Mushu in Mulan before Donkey, and around same time in Doctor Dolittle- absolutely love the series up to the third film, now there is Beverly Hills Cop which is one of his older films but one of his more famous films as well.
10:49 I'm a guy. I wanted to babysit a church friend's granddaughter, not knowing that's frowned upon. I let that idea go, but she got word of it and freaked out. I explained the whole thing to her a couple months later after giving her some space, she knew that I meant well and no harm. We're on good terms now.
The headteacher of the other school played Morticia Addams in The Addams family and the Grand high witch in the witches that’s probably were you recognise her
Tip for your broccoli: Drizzle olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder over them, then oven roast them. Oven roasting is the best way to cook veggies. They get a nice crisp on the top 😋
Another funny one with Eddie is Haunted Mansion🔮 Or on the same theme of this movie is Cheaper by the dozen 1 & 2!! To this day I can watch the second one & love it just like the first time🥹✨

And The Haunted Mansion
The kid who played his son Ben in Daddy Daycare also plays the child version of him in Norbit
