Mannnnn I’m trying to get my accounting manager to realize that automation is her best friend. Creating these types of templates take time on the front end and depending on the entry may take some tweaking. But once it’s up and running!? Complete game changer and time saver. I came to US 10 months ago without family nor mentors, only because my wife obtained scholarships for researching against cancer.
I was bookkeeper and tax compliance in Spain and I hardly had idea of how the accountancy and taxes worked out here.

In order to set an automation JE is not necessary to increase your cost by using a 3rd party software ,with just simply using the VBA editor and set the rigth connection to your accounting system( e.g SAP HANA) then you can set a full automation with Macros and you can avoid incurring in additional cost for the company,

Would using a pivot table be as good as the sumifs?

No sumifs makes your data load faster & doesn’t need a refresh always reduces file size as pivots increase your files, which makes uploading entries take more time & also makes the excel file take a long more time.
