I own both the Elite and MSP. My regular carry I use the Elite, definitely more comfortable and better concealment. However, the MSP allows me to carry "all" my mid-full size pistols, although it is a bit thicker and less comfortable. I love both and consider Tier 1 to be a great holster company and a bunch of great guys!
That's where I'm at right now... I just picked up a S&W Shield Plus 9mm that replaced my M&P v1.0 40c I was carrying for literally the past 10 years, and I like the idea of having a holster I can use for multiple carry options (currently looking at getting a Canik TP9 Elite right now as well) but man the Axis Elite just looks so much more comfortable. Maybe I'll grab both and get the Axis form fitted for my new Shield Plus when I will be carrying all day, and the MSP for things like running out to Walmart or Bass Pro Shop real quick.

Its a great holster...can't wait to see someone make this for micro guns with the TLR7 Sub or 7A! I know there isn't enough retention to make it happen but a universal micro holster would be sweet.
I have both. The elite is definitely thinner more comfortable. I almost never carry the MSP. It works with almost every gun because it locks the gun by the light. To be honest, i have a lot of the lights but never carry them because of the extra bulk. I am never out at night. So i don't need that extra bulk. If you hang out at night then yes, get the MSP. It works great.
I’m glad you made a video about this because I JUST bought one and specifically searched to see if you had posted about it. I got my first T1C after watching your own review (the axis elite) and been in love with the company since. This holster has been giving me a small issue sadly. My Glock 19 is too slim so it seems to fit kinda loose in there, but on the plus side, it fits my beretta 92 with a polymer rail attachment. And I do dare say that it is much more comfortable than my non-light bearing axis elite for Glock 19 despite being much larger
Interesting, have you tried messing with retention? I’m glad it fits the Beretta at least! And yeah, I prefer longer holsters since I find them to be more comfortable.
@@NightwoodGuns I have messed with the retention but it doesn’t help much other than make my draw a little tighter. Regardless, it’s not really an issue once worn, the belt keeps it snug so I guess I’m just being extra picky. Plus, we can’t expect it to be perfect considering it’s universal. Overall I love the holster and I’m happy with my purchase. Never thought I’d be able to appendix carry full size with a light so comfortably but this holster makes it possible.

Both of my EDC's fit both holsters, but I have found that the Elite is a tad bit wider across my appendix, which helps a great deal in concealability overall.

Could you do me a favor and get ahold of the guys there and ask them to please please please make an axis elite for a 5 inch PDP? I tried and they basically told me no. I think you might be tighter with them. Thanks man! 😎👍🏻

I carry behind the hip and tried appendix several times. How long did it take you to get comfortable with appendix? Great video and is your tier 1 elite base or did you upgrade? Thanks Brett
I only carry guns I trust appendix. There are important considerations for reholstering. Know how your gun operates. Get training with drawing and reholstering. I use the dominant leg back method to move my femoral artery out of the line of fire. I also use a wedge for extra concealment and to angle the muzzle slightly more away from my body.
Have you tried carrying appendix with a side car holster though? There’s a clear difference in comfort for me when carrying appendix with a kydex holster that just holds the gun and a kydex holster that has the side car magazine holster. Ones with sidecars are far more comfortable. Almost unnoticeable at times for me. I believe it’s because the weight is distributed more evenly across a larger part of your waits and it doesn’t really create any pinch points/hot spots.
The practical side of me says MSP all the way. But man something about having a product that's designed for a specific purpose for a specific model. I'll eventually get me a Tier 1 holsters when the need arises and I'll probably end up getting the elite.
@nightwoodguns What weapon option should i choose for the axis elite if i want to carry my bul armory sas tac II 4.25 with the surefire like you have set up??

Agreed! 😎👍
You should review the pistol weapon light wing for ccw
I might. I’ll see if they’ll send me one. Most of the time, companies will see I’m an honest channel and decline.
Does any company make one of these for smaller guns like micro 9s or subcompacts? Seems like this one is great for compacts and up.
Not that I’m aware of, unfortunately
@@NightwoodGuns damn you should start a company making them or something lolol I want one that fits all the small popular ccws.
Should I get the extended magazine option for 17 round double stack mags?
That’s what I do 👍
I wish more companies made holsters for Olight WMLs…
More options are better 👍
On Tier One’s website, they don’t show the MSP with a sidecar option. How did you configure it?
I believe it’s a separate holster altogether. The MSP FLX.
@nightwoodguns What weapon option should i choose for the axis elite if i want to carry my bul armory sas tac II 4.25 with the surefire like you have set up??
I use my Staccato XC w/X300ub holster. But, obviously that’s longer than you need. I would imagine a 4.25 Staccato holster would also work, but I can’t guarantee it as I haven’t tested it myself. But I bet it would 👍
My MSP is from the original release I guess. I didnt have the option for an attached mag carrier
I believe they released the “FLX” model a couple months after the initial release
For your Jacob grey twc9 black what’s the axis elite configuration???
@nightwoodguns Can/does a glock 20 gen5 magazine fit in the MSP FLX spair mag carrier? Tia!..
Yes, I just had to loosen the retention and it’s a tight fit… but it works 😂
@@NightwoodGuns awesome!, thank you for letting me know. 🤙🏽
@NightwoodGuns forgot to mention. Did your MSP FLX spair mag carrier originally come for the double stack 9mm/40cal or the 1911/45 double stack??
I wonder how much thinner the axis elite is for the full-size PDP VS the MSP. the PDP is a chunky thing
Good question. 😂 I’ve only ever run the PDP out of the MSP. Like you said, it’s chonky 🤣
I would like a good kydex holster for my revolver but it seems pretty much impossible. Ruger super redhawk alaskan
Yeah I’d say finding one for an Alaskan would be darn-near impossible. For all other wheelguns I go with JM Custom Kydex 👍
Why do I not see an option on the Axis Elite Holster with a weapon light?
Likely because they don’t make a weaponlight version for the model of gun you selected.
I plan on using the MSP as a fall/winter setup bc a hoodie makes this thing disappear
And now things have gotten more complicated with the APX. Does anyone know how it compares to the axis elite? Is it worth the extra cash?
My APX review goes live in the morning 😂👍
@ Nice timing haha.
@@tanto2868 Made it just for you! 😂👍
Are these holsters for IWB only? Looking for OWB strong side option.
Yep, these ones are IWB
Will you do any videos on tracer ammo?
Probably not since I’m in the desert. 🔥
Is that the black multi cam?
Yep! 👍
what holster should i get for my m and p 2.0 competitor
I believe the metal frames fit slightly differently than the polymer ones. So you might have to get the MSP. (That’s what I use) But you can always ask Tier 1 if you have fitment questions 👍
its very thick holster stick with the elite and has a lot of play i mean it does save you a lot of money but rather get a holster for my main hand gun better fitment
That’s my philosophy as well 👍
Does anyone know if a Streamlight TLR 1 HL will fit. Tier 1 states TLR-1 but not HL. Not sure if its going to fit
I wanted to get the Axis Elite but it doesn’t have a weapon light option for the Bul armory sas 2 tac 4.25”. Does anyone know if there is another gun model that will fit the Bul armory with a Tlr-1HL?
I run my Bul SAS II TAC 4.25 w/X300 in my Staccato XC w/X300 Axis Elite. I’m not sure if that helps you any, but it’s a perfect fit for me.
@@NightwoodGuns Thank you so much! I really enjoy your content!! 💜

Any ideas what to pick for an M&P competitor with holosun PID PLUS ?
How are some people getting light bearing versions. Every time i look they have gun with no light versions only..... Kinda frustrating lol
What are your thoughts on stealthgearusa's appendix plus 2.0?
I see that you have a 1911 with a Tier 1 Holster Elite - I can not find a Tier 1 Elite Holster for a SIG Sauer 1911 .45cal W/ OLIGHT Baldr Por R Light/Laser can you help me find one Thanks! CC
Love all the content. I just got the new bul armory sas tac 4.25. Did you order the axis elite for the Stacato p 4.25? They don’t list the new bul armory model.
Congrats on the Bul! I would imagine that would work. Mine is for the Staccato XC and it works just fine 👍
@@NightwoodGuns awesome. Thank you so much. I have made so many decisions based on your videos. Keep up the great job!
I still have no clue how you can conceal a full size the way you do with a semi form fitting shirt. I’m not far off your size and I can’t it conceal like that with all the same gear you have.
Do they make one that works for Olight?
Not in their site, no
Lol “it’s not a tuuumaah”
😂👍
I like the agis the way its wider clears my pants button.
Yeah, the Agis works better for some people.
Axis elite doesn’t give me an option for weapon light
Depends on the model. They don’t offer a weaponlight version for every gun. Most common ones like Glocks, Staccatos, etc have the option. If not, the MSP is the way to go.
@@NightwoodGuns ty for the reply…any opinion on msp vs trex sidecar?
Could use MSP for an HK P 2000??
In theory, yes. But I’d check with them before ordering.
What’s the matter Hans, no bullets
😂👍
I don't CC a "big gun". I carry a Walther PPK/s. They don't consider my weapon worth supporting apparently. Well, my money will go elsewhere. Good to know about their poor service too.

Bump-pel-ease?
There's more than one....
Bump-pel-ease's. LOL
Excellent vid. Esp like mag adjustability.
PS: Good luck at the Gundies, I voted like a Democrat by having all my dead relatives vote too!
😂👍
I refuuuuse to replace my Uncle Mike's. 😡
I wouldn't want the mag on same side. Way too much weight on right hip.
Just wear a gun and a mag on your other hip and it’ll even out 😂👍
@@NightwoodGuns needs like 2 or 3 mags to balance out

You've probably talked about this already but how would yoi compare the Trex SC compared to T1C's stuff?
I've only ever used Trex and don't wanna try something new that I might not like
there are a few videos out there on the TH-cams that compare them
im sure there is but i was specifically asking Nightwood as i enjoy his content and opinions@@SandW6384

Should fit. T1C should know for sure.
