You're a legend for this. Bought a sustain pedal the other day, it worked normally for 2 days then opened up a session today and it was reversed. Big help dude!
Thank you so much! This has happened to me so many times and it's so annoying. Most people online say to just hold the pedal down as you turn on the keyboard, but it never works for me! This saved everything! Thank you.
This was brilliant, thank you! It fixed an outstanding issue in Logic but then messes up jumping out to play in Luna or standalone instruments. I just went and bought two new Proline sustain pedals with the polarity switch. My old Roland pedal only works with one of my keyboard, now they all work with no workaround hack.
Thank you so much for your help. First I connected it to my external audiodriver (which are close to each other in the Psychical Input field - so please look close if you have the same problem like me. Because I connected it to my audiodriver it did not work of course and because of that I also did not get the sign 'Data Byte 1') Hope this helps someone else. Have good day folks!
Perfect! Was away from home with older Kong keys and Roland pedal where sustain was opposite. Thought I was sunk, but then I tried this and in 2 minutes I was all fixed! Great video and well explained. Thanks so much. I’m a subscriber now.
I just ordered a welding iron but was looking to find exactly this. For a non-template method I will change polarity the physical way :D Still awesome and thank you so much. :)
Hey dude! Glad to have helped out! Yeah you can do it the physical way but found you could do it in the software! :) which saves the DIY! Nice one dude hope the productions go well! :)
I did exactly what you said and it isn’t working I’m using a Yamaha FC5 an Akai MPK mini and Logic Pro X. Any suggestions or ideas about what I may be doing wrong?
Hey! Thank you so much for this! I had another issue with this - after doing this, my patches are sustaining when I pedal and when i don't as well (the pedal is still connected).
Hi! I'm not sure you can in Ableton. I had a little look and doesn't look like you can reverse the outputs internally like in logic! . You could try holding the pedal down when you turn the keyboard on and see if it switches itself around etc. Sorry that's not massive help! haha
Hey! No problem at all! I learnt this ages ago a realised there was no video (or at least a decent) video on YT explaining it! Seems to be quite a common problem for people haha glad you've got yourself up and running though!
Sorry. I have a master keyboard and i want to send a sustain message to a first midi track but not at the second. For exsample i want to use a pedal sustain to a piano but no a string instrument in the same time. I can disabilitad a control changes in a midi preference but change evrywhere. Tank you
Hi! I think I understand what you're trying to do. You'll have to switch the sustain off within the virtual instrument if you want to control both instruments with the same midi keyboard. If you change it in the master midi it will change it everywhere as you said :)
Hey all, I've been having the same problem. Great tutorial, but there is no change when I follow the steps. Also using the Alesis V49, anyone have a clue on what could be wrong?
Any idea why this doesn't work for me? I just bought a new Necktar LX88 and my old Roland pedal is reversed. Followed your directions (twice) but to no avail... doesn't change the up and down correlation... :(
Can you make a similar tutorial for cubase? My pedal has signal but can't get it to work..Im only having sustain effect continuously that last forever and my pedal doesnt affect it (from c64 sustain midi control)
no worries! Happy to help :) just had a listen to your music on your channel. Really great stuff. If I can ever help with producing some material please just get in in contact. What you've made has so much potential! Keep going man :)
hey! the "open midi environment" option does not appear to me, I only see "open midi transform". could you please help me with that? thank you in advance
Amazing, thanks Tom! For those of you using Logic 10.7.4, the Midi Transform menu isn't listen on the Window tab but you can access it with Command 0
This comment saved my life lol.. Thanks

Single-handedly the most straightforward informative video I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much! Now I have to figure this out in Cubase….🤦🏻

You are awesome. Took me about 30 mins to find this video but stoked becuz it is the fix I was looking for. Thank you! Liked and Subscribed :)
Great video, it really helped, thanks! Logic Pro 11 doesn't have the Environment window in the drop down list, but Command 0 takes you there.
you sir, are a legend. THANK YOU for this tip - works like a charm!
Great thanks very much for the concise and informative video. Had exactly the same issue with my Nord sus pedal, great stuff!

Ah no worries!! Glad to help!! It took me ages to work it out so wanted to make it easy for the rest of us!! Haha 😆
I found an even better way - underneath the pedal there's a button that you can change from, in this case, 1 to 2. Sorted!
Thank you this was very helpful
Thank you, just what I needed!

Wished this worked for me...Using the Roland DP-10 and followed the steps, but no luck...perfect video though. Any thoughts?
Legend mate. Fixed the problem I had!
Absolute goddamn lifesaver.
I'm having the same problem with the Axiom Pro 49 and Ableton Live 11. Can you help? 😭

I cant see this option on logic
Check that you’re in advanced mode for Logic X
@@TomOneDJ I have it on, I’m using Monterrey version
@@JuanLopezmusica I didnt see it in my pulldown menu in advanced mode. Try Apple Control Key/0

I used a Jack splitter plug and sustain works
That helped a lot! Thanks...
How do I get logic to record my sustain notes from my m-audio pedal?
