Being born and lived my early years in Sowcarpet, I have visited Chennakesava Perumal temple several times. But never knew about the history of the Chintha Haari Pillari temple!!

In Kaula Lumpur also there is a famous pillayar temple called Courtmalai pillayar which has also some connection with the then British rulers there.
Really a wonderful experience listening to your presentation on our history.... I wonder why history was such a boring subject at school... but now we don't get sleep on your episodes .....

Thanks for the information sir. I thought pillayar celebrations were just 200 years old and it was due to marati influence.
Moreover when ever bronze idols of pillayar unearthed, they report in the newspapers that they aren't old ones.
