I could never understand the pillow top thing, everything should be in the single mattress. What are they going to do next have a double pillow top 1 on top of the other?
yep I made the mistake of paying 4k for a Sealy mattress and base, the base wasn't even a Sealy base and the mattress was too soft they changed it for a firm one and it still too soft and my lower back just sinks into it. Your right there's so many layers of padding inside the mattress it just makes it like sleeping on a cushion. I'm sleeping on the floor now, and I'm buying a cheap firm mattress soon, It's just a basic hood quality but cheap mattress and it's just a basic thickness, not filled with all bull shit foam padding. It's funny though when I rang the store to enquire about the mattress to see if they have it on floor so I can go in and try it first. they said yes we have it on display, It's very basic though there are some other options we have, you don't have to spend too much, because it's actually the cheapest mattress they have but It's the exact same brand and make as some of the more expensive ones, only different model name. Like you said, It's just a spring system with a bit of padding on top as long as it's good quality and the right feel for support, it doesn't make a difference to your sleep quality.👍
Springs will definitely outlast foam. Individually pocketed coil mattress is the best coil system. I will have videos in the future to discuss the differences in materials and construction.

What actually makes a mattress good or bad, like what types of mattresses are there and what is inside that makes them good?
