      The question is how much such treatment is right for the mattress. Opinions are divided.
      Personally, I would tend to lean towards the fact that it is not a problem, but I would be happy to hear from someone in the industry. Perhaps such compression over a long period of time deforms the foam of the mattress and deforms the springs in it.

    • @AMT4245
      @AMT4245 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@TheYouDejmien I wonder the same thing. Sure, the transport costs are drastically improved but at what cost to the integrity of the coil springs? It would not be the least bit surprising if the industry knowingly overlooks the damage to the springs.

      What sucks is that it was always like that- they did this to ship mattresses to the mattress stores, and they just opened them there. It's been that way for a long time. The difference is that they smell terribly so they outgas in the store.

    • @BelindaShort
      @BelindaShort ปีที่แล้ว +7

    As somebody who has worked in my family’s mattress and furniture factories here in UK for many years, I must say, this factory has very high quality mattresses compared to most factories here in the west. It would be interesting to see the latex and cool gel foam pieces and more complicated builds and to see if it also lives up to this standard. Nevertheless, an interesting video and brought back many fond memories haha

    • @timm2824
      @timm2824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      If I were to look for the highest quality mattress what would you recommend? It seems that it's extremely hard to find quality over marketing these days. Would appreciate any advice with your expertise if you feel inclined to share your wisdom with a stranger 🙂

    • @DeadshotYT007
      @DeadshotYT007 2 ปีที่แล้ว +190

      @@timm2824 To be direct and to the point, no particular brand really comes to mind. Every person is different and has different needs.
      I would however suggest a mattress that firstly supports your body weight and height.
      Then to see what needs/problems you have, e.g. feeling hot/sweating during the night, or feeling cold, sore neck, back problems.
      Once you’ve noted what issues you have (if any) then you should design a custom made mattress that suits your body.
      My personal advice as somebody who has sold literally thousands of mattresses and has made them and designed them myself in my family’s mattress factory would be to have a spring base, with firm foam around the edges. A medium-firm foam in the centre with a cool gel latex layer on top. This accompanied by a cotton air flow cover to help reduce sweat and provide another layer of comfort.
      The firm foam around the edges will support you as you get in and out the bed. The medium-firm foam will support your body weight and make sure you don’t sink in to your mattress as sinking in to your mattress can increase heat and body sweat and reduce any orthopaedic properties in the foam.
      The latex foam will provide a more soft cushioned layer and help gently support your body’s muscles as it will not have a lot of pressure on pressure points.
      All this being said, I would also recommend a good pillow where your neck is not elevated (which can create soreness and upper back pain).
      Again, each mattress needs to be designed to your body and needs, as most likely you will have it for 8-10 years. I rather have 10 years of stress free sleep and wake up feeling good than to have constant back pain.
      As my cousin (CEO) once said; a man should only spend a lot on two things in his life. A good mattress as he’s sleeping on it for 8 hours a day and a shoes as he’s walking in them for the other 16 hours!

      @@DeadshotYT007 Very good advice my friend. I'll be going to buy a mattress based on exactly the specifications you've outlined. I sweat in my sleep but am not overweight ect so this I very good advice. It's a shame I'm in Australia or I would come and buy from your family's company. It's clear you know what you are talking about. I also agree on spending good money on a mattress as like you said good sleep is priceless and I worth spending the money. How much would you expect to pay in the UK for high quality with those features. I was thinking around the $2000 to $5000au mark? If it's more thats not really a big deal as it a 10 year investment but I'd be curious to know what be people in the UK pay. I know Australia can be overpriced at times

    • @DeadshotYT007
      @DeadshotYT007 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@timm2824 Hi Tim, we’ve sold in Australia before but unfortunately since covid started we’ve had to stop overseas distribution.
      That being said, a cool gel foam mattress will be ideal for you as it will drastically help cool your body down and provide comfort at the same time. This was and always has been the prime favourite mattress build that customers from hot countries tend to buy.
      As for price, it would cost roughly £1200-£1400 which would be around 2,100-2400AUD and shipping would cost around 100-150AUD given current climate. It still would be significantly cheaper than buying from within Australia itself.

      My recent mattress, (after me spending 3 months on a folding camp-bed..) came rolled like this. An early job for me way back was at a furniture store and mattress delivery was a case of heave-ho for the expensive ones, and I was a little sceptical that foam and spring mattresses could be successfully rolled and vac-packed. But, I carefully ran a knife down the polythene and it sprang out like a jack in the box. Within an hour it was full size, 10" thick and it's been a great purchase.

    Learned a lot from the experience and learned that most mattresses you purchase in the states at least are not worth the cost. If you’re buying one, find it for cheaper than 400.
    Most foam blends they use are very very similar and not worth the extra cost. I had purchased many $40 mattresses and sold for around 100/200 to help friends out. 🌷 be safe kings and queens!

    I used to work in a foam mattress factory like this.. I still remember the mixture of ingredients to make a foam mattress like this..

      What did they do with that white foam shown in starting video 2.30

    • @thomasstephen5293

      It was not a foam mattress. The mattress shown in the video is a roll packed pocketed spring mattress with foam padding and quilted panel.

    For anyone wondering, this is a latex hybrid mattress. The foam is latex and it is a considered a hybrid because half of it is made with springs. Latex is popular nowadays because it is safer to sleep on than memory foam because it doesn’t off-gas and it has a more springy feel to it than memory foam which has a more quicksand feel.

    Muito legal o processo de fabricação. No Brasil também tem. Só que feito um colchão de 60 metros e depois cortam nos tamanhos certos.
    Essa fábrica fica na cidade de Monte Mor - SP.
