    For some reason my experience was the opposite. When I met my husband we had a latex mattress it was super comfortable, cool, and I did sink in slightly. The only problem it was queen size. At that time I weighed 120lbs(I'm averaged sized woman) and him 245lbs(he's 6ft 3" and was all muscle) he had it for maybe 6 years before me and we kept it for an additional 1 year. We switched to memory foam because it was cheaper and we wanted a king..... first 2 months it was great... after that it started to wear down it felt like I was sleeping on a hill I would literally roll down to my husband's side. It was also a cooling effect but it still got hot easily. For us we did not like the memory foam. Throughout the years we've slightly gained weight and that's making the memory foam not hold up anymore lol. Definitely getting the latex customized to be firm on bottom medium in meddle and soft on top. Since we both like sinking and we are side sleepers.

They even point out how the purchaser can switch out the layers if they find the mattress too firm or soft by just switching which layer is on top. There's also the possibility to replace a layer if it starts to fall apart, but given the expected life time for latex mattresses that shouldn't be necessary for a decade or more.

    • @loki76
      @loki76 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      That is until you reach some age on the bed and the memory foam support just goes away and it sags and you hit the "base foam" and now all of a sudden you have pressure points.
      Our Memory foam mattress was firm and great and sunk in for the first year or two. Then with time the memory foam lost it support and now it's just divot in the space I sleep and the nice "support/cradling" is gone and shoulders and hip hit on the base firm foam and causes me to toss and turn often to relieve pressure..
      Hence why we're going with Hybrid mattress and Latex foam instead. The coils/springs will keep the support and not compact completely like sagging foam and the Latex will still be 4 inches of soft layered foam.. Will be the best of both world of support and softness.

    I have 100% natural latex, and its surprisingly soft, but stiff. Only way how to explain is that with every cm stiffness exponentially increase. Its very soft if you do "hand test" push in to matrace, but the moment you lay down you feel strong support, yet dont feel pressure points. 90x200 weight 28kg. So maybe heavy, but its also sign of quality.
    Important part is for which weight matrace is made, most companies only put maximum load which is nonsense and people choose this number to match their weight.

So I brought a 8 cm memory foam mattress topper . This has made it a softer sleep but every morning I’m waking up with a sore lower back and sore kidneys.. don’t no why this is happening.. so I’m now looking at going back to the old pillow top innerspring mattress. Feel like I just waisted $1000 on a mattress hat for me is totally uncomfortable. Buying the right bed is by far one of the hardest decisions we all will make as we spend a third of our lives in one we mite as well do it in style and comfort. Mattress comes with these name hotel spring mattress, bonnel spring mattress, pocket spring mattress, memory foam mattress, full foam mattress so which one should i choose among these if i want a mattress that does not sink with a right firmness and long-lasting?

    Love the latex for its natural cooling properties and durability but as a side sleeper i need for pressure relief for shoulders and hips

  • @loki76
    @loki76 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    That pressure relief from memory foam might be nice, but if it starts to lose it's "density" and start to sag, that pressure relief is all but gone because it's going to compact down to the "support" foam that is harder and now all of a sudden you will feel pressure points because all the cushioning support is gone.. Latex overall could possibly better because it's still soft foam.
    Well for me a pretty heavy person, and also for my wife not heavy. Our all foam mattress with the memory foam on top bed is now just really bad. It has created divots for me and memory support is all but gone and I feel more pressure points so I toss and turn, yet sleep in an area because of the "pocket/divot" smaller than a tiny full/twin area and the whole king size mattress is useless. It's like a fricken hill to try and lay more in the middle and you can't get it to "even out" because it would take equal amount of time as it did for the part that lost it's retention.
    Our choice is going to be Hybrid pocket coil and probably Latex foam to retain the bed shape and still have cushioning and support. I think even if I wasn't as heavy, I would still ruin an all foam mattress over time with it losing it's rebound/density.

      I imagine it's due to the memory foam wearing in. My parents have a temperpedic with memory foam that is well used and there is dips where they sleep. Like a good 4-6 inches and they tried several toppers to get around it. They now sleep on a mattress pad filled with down feathers. Last I heard it fixed their issues but they have to fluff at least weekly to keep hills from forming.

    I'm not sure if the benefits outweight the cons. I've slept on both materials only to see my health going downhill. There are so many harmful chemicals inside these types of foam.... many people experience side effects such as headaches, rashes, allergies, respiratory problems. I also had brutal snoring problems and respiratory allergies from memory foam. Everything changed when I bought a 100% natural wool mattress and my health improved in a matter of days. I think this industry needs a breathe of fresh air, too much chemicals are in use nowadays. Highly recommend you guys see what kind of natural alternatives are there, especially wool.

    if you are someone that needs to keep your spine in close to perfect alignment due to injury etc. then a firm latex mattress is out of this world, they are that good.
    ive had mem foam on pocket spring and a pure mem foam mattress, both not that great for me, im currently waiting for a latex matt. to arrive and ive had superb sleep times on a borrowed one, so i know it's great for me, with better firmness comes better support for the spinal injury thing anyway.

    Many reviews on mattresses don't consider the shape of the person sleeping on the mattress which is the most important reason for considering one type of mattress over the other. From my personal experience selling mattresses, a person who has heavy lumber region should consider a mattress made from latex or a push back spring. The 2 biggest cons in the bedding industry are memory foam and pocket spring mattresses, which don't last as long as older spring and foam mattresses. Also no turn mattresses are not a benefit but rather a quick way to make people buy new mattresses every few years. With all these technology's we are going backwards. This is the sad truth of the mattress industry.

My mom’s weight is around 70 kg and has constant arm pain due to her sleeping pattern which is sleeping on one side. My parents don’t want really bouncy mattress as they feel comfort on hard mattress. Which mattress should i buy for them which is not too bouncy and not too hard. It should provide comfort to them. Please suggest❤

    let me clarify....most Latex Foam are made with the mixture between natural and synthetic Latex. It can range from 10%-100% using Synthetic Latex. Like the one in your video in 2:10 and 2:28 are most likely a heavy mix of synthetic Latex. Why mostly using mixture of Synthetic are because it is much way easier to produce. But of course there are still some companies like me still produce 100% NaturaI Latex.

    If you have a bed base with a board fitted on top, it should have some lats underneath. Remove the board and add some more lats if necessary. If you have drawers then try removing them for more circulation. Even add a fan to blow through if it gets hot

    Wish I had seen this BEFORE I bought my last bed. I bought memory foam. Memory foam is all wrong for me. And the cool gel pad, infused foam, whatever they call it. Is a waste of time and money. If your a hot sleeper, I’m one, even with the cool gel component you will sleep hot. As for back pain relief, at least the memory foam I sleep on doesn’t cut, I’m always hot when I wake up. Almost always wake up sores, lower back is especially bad with this mattress, and it’s only 3 years old. I was considering going back to a spring type mattress, never really considered latex. But after watching this and other videos like this, I need to check out a few latex mattresses. From what I’ve learned so far, you want the all natural from the sap of trees latex with a Dunlop process. The blended latex is not as durable and the Talalay process almost always has synthetic materials and chemicals. Have found out it can be 70% synthetic and still be called natural latex. If you want a longer lasting, chemical free latex look for GLOS certification and Dunlop process latex that will be all nature latex.
