      @@jhallock Its not them that has to make the profiles. Its either the community or MSFS / DCS etc. I would only really buy this for DCS anyway, and as anyone who's played DCS will tell you, profiles don't exist. You have to find them online or make them.

    The zones and buttons on the touchscreen is hardcoded to a keyboard stroke so if you want to assign the autopilot to the touchscreen you first have to change the autopilot in the game to match the key activated by the touchpad.
    The other issue with the touchscreen is the toggle switch does not operate like a toggle does. It is bound to one keystroke so while it will send the keystroke signal when you switch to on, it does not send it again when you switch to off so the toggle sequence is on to apply toggle then off and then on again to remove the toggled state.

    Great Video Sir. Just got mine today and have to agree with you, the quality and button options is mind blowing. The software is daunting at first but becomes fairly easy after a while.
    One thing I have noticed is that the indent at half way on throttle where forward thrust and reverse thrust starts is a pain to setup in MSFS. Wanted to have reverse thrust on same lever but for some reason it only works for one way from 0 to 100%. maybe Im going mad, possibly but maybe Ive just overlooked something.
    Overall, I am chuffed with the HOTAS, even the wife is impressed which says something. Keep the videos coming. Good Job

    Regarding the trim. In the Turtle Beach app you have the wheel set as an Axis. In MSFS you were trying to set the trim as a button. In MSFS you need to assign the trim as an “axis”.

      I'm guessing these comments are relating it to Siatek/Logitech issues (X55/X56) issues in the past? My X55 did give up the ghost, but this was after several years of impeccible service. Logitech fixed a lot of the problems which plagued the X55. I'm still using my X56 and love it. I know this is about the Velocity One Flightdeck, but I'm assuming folks are relating this product to the X55/X56 as the stick design and mechanics looks identical.

    Can't believe you didn't reference the Siatek/Logitech X55/X56 as the inspiration for this. A good amount of switches and nobs are in exactly the same place. There's also a fair bit different. I have to say I like it but it also probably suffers from the cheaper stick movement of the X56 but I like the fact the base support for the stick is hieght adjustable. To be honest, I know some folks prefer the VKB STECS and EVO but I've found those sticks to look god damn awful, so this will do nicely as an upgrade to my X56 and pretty much the same price, thank you very much.

      I'd rather have the quallity internals and software of VKB over better looks with the RBG, because when i use it i'm not even looking that much at my HOTAS. Also the fact that this one does not have physical detents is a huge downside to me

    8:07 if you assign this to both left and right brake axes, then you could have a much smoother brake than if you assign a button (for people who don't have rudder pedals anyway). This would also leave the trigger (commonly used as the brake) free as a PTT button.

  • @OMGammafox
    @OMGammafox 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So, I got mine ten days ago and I absolutely love it. I got it to play sim battles in War Thunder and was having a wonderful experience using the Flightdeck. Everything worked perfectly. Then out of the blue, the Y axis on the stick no longer responded. This was very disappointing after just 10 days of use. I contacted customer support and went through the recovery procedure not just once but three times. Still, it did not resolve the issue. After I reported that the recovery procedure did not solve the issue it seems the only response I'm getting now from the support tech is the sound of crickets. Since I ordered it from Amazon, I returned it as being defective and Amazon will be sending me a replacement. Since I really, really like the Flightdeck I'm going to give it a second try. Hopefully I won't encounter any more problems like this. The Flightdeck really enhanced my game play in simulator battles in War Thunder. Until the replacement arrives, I'm back using the Turtle Beach Velocity One flight stick and rudders. Still a good combo but the Flightdeck is definitely a huge upgrade and that's what I like about it. By the way, it was your videos that convinced me to get it. 😁

      @OMGammafox 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. It would not respond at all. I'm hoping it was just bad luck and I happened to get a defective one. I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle with my replacement Flightdeck and that there will be no issues with this one.@@Huddison

      A quick update, I got my replacement and after two sessions of gameplay the gear lever fell apart and the spring in the pinky trigger must have broken or something because it just went limp, and the HUD kept going off and on during gameplay. Amazon would only offer a refund since I already got a replacement, but I love the Flightdeck too much and wasn't interested in a refund. I contacted Turtle Beach and explained what I was experiencing with the Flightdeck, and they just told me to pack it up and send it to them and they were happy to replace it since it was still under warranty. So, I am now patiently waiting for the replacement, and hopefully, as the saying goes, third times a charm. Meanwhile, I am back on the V1FS which is still so enjoyable to use.@@Huddison

    I checked out this video for one purpose. I was looking at the pictures of the throttle on Amazon. The picture must've been altered because the screen on the throttle unit was so sharp that I originally thought it was a sticker. Looking at it from another angle, I saw no protruding toggle switches or an axis wheel. I thought "Did TB really slap a sticker on the throttle just for looks?" If you check it out, it looks like a sticker because there is no light bleed and the image is so sharp that it would have to be 8k. It looks like a sticker. lol. So glad to see that they weren't trying to charge $400 for a kid's toy. However, if they don't get that screen working with FS2020, it might be the coolest and most expensive sticker I've ever seen.

      @Huddison  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh no :(
      I can't recall which video of mine that was, but were these addon aircraft all added externally from the Sim (i.e. 3rd party sources)?
      Option 1: delete your Community folder (whilst MSFS is not running) and then restart the sim - a new community folder should have been created and then re-add your aircraft.
      Option 2: rename your Community folder (again whilst the Sim is not running); restart the sim and a new Community folder should've been created.
      Cut & Paste all the addons from the renamed Community folder into the newly created one and see if they appear in the Sim.

    I'm not convinced it is ready for MSFS and needs a lot of work, especially in the virtual buttons and the physical buttons not recognised by MSFS e.g. trim wheels. I also found that some buttons are not able to work as needed in the sim.

    One disturbing thing I saw is when you moved your throttles for a brief moment button 35/38 light up while moving, I just hope this is not "ghosting" like the X56 has and is doomed by, if it is that’s a bad thing specially in DCS. That was my main reason to replace the X56 as it “ghosted” like mad.

    i have one idea for devs. if they add force sensors for stick and then add some different deflections inside locked and unlocked, that's will best concept, so pilot will have opportunity to have no moved stick at all, moved only slight by half-two inches, and move if pilot wish as more common sticks. and after all pilot can change forces. if they add 4 force sensors this will brilliant so you can set 4kg for pull but 2kg for push, 3kg for left bank and 1.5kg for right or whatever pilot want for different aircraft or for all aircraft. spring sticks sucks.

    I do wish (due to space reasons) there was an ability to map SOMETHING on the Stick as throttle for days you don't want to use the throttle system as well. It's not convenient but even my NXT EVO has that capability. This needs to be $299 vs. $399 US as the X56 is only $245 US. I wouldn't say this is a $150 premium over that.

    I'm not convinced with that fiddly touchscreen. You really can't beat the feel or accuracy of physical buttons and switches. As far as being the most advanced HOTAS, that is debatable as well. I'm running Virpil equipment and that is arguably more advanced in terms of configuration and control. This Turtle Beach gear is not cheap and it seems you're paying for the gimmicky touchscreen and "HUD" on the stick. If you're flying DCS, SC, ED, or anything with combat, you don't want to be looking down at your stick or throttle. You want to be able to activate controls by touch and keep your eyes on the screen, so I would be interested to see how this fares inside DCS.

    Perhaps they need to have the Sim have you pilot from the right seat!
    Now I can hear folks say it's due to them being right handed, but my response would be that left handers such as myself need to learn to use the stick with our right hand, so clearly the right handers can learn to use the stick left handed as well.
