Best review ever. Was looking at this HOTAS but wasn't convinced. Then I watched this video and after you explained everything in plain and easy to understand fashion, I'm sold. Plus I have an android tablet sitting here brand new, not being used. Absolute game changer, cannot wait to pick one up. Thanks again!
Great video!!! Thanks man!!! I was already interested in the Flightdeck, but your video was the final piece I needed, I am definitely grabbin one now!!!! Thanks again!
I cannot believe they didn't release even a basic config for MSFS, that is just absurd. Maybe in the future I want to spend time setting up bindings exactly the way I want, but I was excited to get mine, hooked it up and bam, nothing, I just wanted to check it out before investing the time to do that. Mine is going back unless something comes out in a few days, I'm sure they have configs in-house...
@@ReviewsUnlimitedTech FS Doesnt really even see it, I was literally appalled by how bad it is given its claimed to be FS compatible, mine has now gone back.
I was really excited for the HOTAS but returned mine - tech support confirmed that the touch display key binds cannot be moved or modified - the layout of the key bind positions is fixed so I cannot place "O,", "P," or "I" on the top row which is fixed to Q, W, and E. Tech support also made it clear that they do not know, or even IF, the feature to position key binds will be implemented.
Needed to replace my x52 pro. It just didn't have enough inputs for star citizen after the new salvaging and tractor beam update for my liking. Ordered mine yesterday so I hope it comes fully functional as I hear the quality control has been questionable.
I have about 170 hr on mine with elite been nothing but good, only issue I have had is when my pc sleeps the throttle screen now waking up and I have to unplug to reset. But Im running thru a powered hub so that would be it also. Let us know how it's going !
I have had that stick since the release. It NOT as user friendly as you say . Lot of the buttons are not recognized by both Microsoft Flight and DCS . Great review tho
Thxs for the comment - Will be testing out on the different sims soon. The profile's might be synced right but so far the basic profile has been working for me - Meaning all the button maps under basic are working. - Send me a email with the one that dont work under manual mapping and I can reach out the manufacture and try to find out why.
Agreed. Turtle Beach didn't release a profile for MSFS and while it connects to MSFS, it's only recognized as a basic stick and throttle vs. the specific TB product. Needs software support from TB!
Looks interesting and not a bad price. I played Elite with the WartHog HOTAS which cost more than this years ago. I used to use a program called Powergrid I think it was on a tablet and then built a button box to surround the joystick, this looks like a combination of the two, or a built in Streamdeck. Hmmmmm I would be tempted if I played Elite anymore as it looks perfect. I agree on the Virpil products, shipping and taxes are a mare, I bought the the desk mounts for the Warthog and it ended costing me a fortune with import duties and taxes. Only thing for me is Elite is on another level in VR which means you cannot see the screens, that's why I dropped it by the way as Odyssey did not support VR. But this and TrackIr would be great. Really interesting product.
@@ReviewsUnlimitedTech VR in Elite was a game changer, especially in combat, I played with TrackIr before that and VR blew my head. I was a Beta backer back in 2012 as I absolutely loved the game on the C64 and so get lifetime upgrades. Played for about 5 years before I burnt out and I played almost daily. I was in a wing with a fellow Uk person (Dudley Dawg), a Swiss Canadian (Loriath) and a psycho Scandinavian (Tor /Bob). Great hilarious times, and then the wing sorta fell apart. Those were great times at the beginning, testing new stuff, trying to break stuff and then bitching about the engineers and that grind. Fond memories. Still got some well engineered ships somewhere, where I don't know. I was a Elite in trading, a smidgen off combat and the same for exploration. Might venture back someday just to get Triple.
@@thegrumpygamer3081 I can confirm, played Elite long time with a screen and then bought a VR headset some years ago, it is really a game changer. I can't play Elite without VR anymore, even with my big OLED monitor on which image is really really beautiful when in space but it lacks the 3D... With VR, vessels seems so gigantic but on screen they seems just big?
I use this for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Unfortunately I had to return it as it simply does not work. There is no profile available and many of the buttons are unable to work correctly with the Sim. I would not recommend it for use with MSFS you will be very frustrated with it. Also several buttons are really cheap in their construction and feel like they will break after just a few uses, strange as several other buttons are very premium. Turtle Beach have really missed the mark with this release and at such a high price I expected a lot more.
no left handed support.. Missed opportunity. Since the stick can be completely removed. Why don't make it so you can swap it for a left or right hand setup.
Good luck getting it working with Fs2020, it doesnt, mine is going back. Its ridiculous at this price point that there is ZERO profile for FS, even after mapping it in FS, it still wont control basic flight controls.
The more of these that get out there in peoples hands, the user reviews are going to tank. I've had 3 of them now since release, and the quality control for $400 is abysmal. All of the throttle units had backlights burn out within a week. All the ball gimbals on the sticks felt completely different on all 3 sticks. One was super gritty and would stick, one was so loose in the center it would constantly pitch up until deadzone was added, and the other stick was somewhere in the middle. One hardware bug that seems to have made it into every stick, is the pinky button on the back of the stick will randomly activate the brake lever button. Go into your hardware test for the stick, and rapidly press that button on the back of the grip, you'll see it randomly lighting up the pinky switch button. Hopefully they get the quality control issues worked out (won't hold my breath), but currently, no way I would recommend anyone to purchase this thing for $400. There are way better and less expensive options out there.
It does work with DCS, I would imagine X-Plane. You have to manually setup your settings in DCS, but actually that is a good thing. You also have to set it up for each aircraft in DCS.
@@ReviewsUnlimitedTech It makes fun, sure, some bugs are still there but they are sometimes funny and most will most likely be repaired in the upcomming major update.
this things not worth it, every review ive seen says its bad and has horrible quality control, u were better off getting another T16000. The reviews ive seen were from people who use and review them a lot too. I CAN NOT recommend this. It will last less time than u than any other stick.
You literally chat so much shit 😂 every review I’ve seen has said how great it is, and the price is cheap for what it is just admit you’re broke and can’t afford one so you hate on it, it quite literally has all the controls you need and more in it the fucking thing has a built in track pad for the thumb haptic feedback for the throttles and a touch screen, virples throttles cost more than this and you only get a throttle hell the x56 which I have is almost as expensive as this with a fraction of the quality and controls, I’m gonna upgrade to this
sadly its look and is complete plastic overpriced shit :) returned one after 2 days of using, this thing should not be salled in such a poor form and performance it gives :/
@@ReviewsUnlimitedTech well honestly its better to go for VKB gladiator plus TWCS from thrustmaster and u get way better experiance then this here, maybe if they fix entire software for this hotas that would help a bit for it to work better then the present shape it got, for now it is a freezing made of lot of plastic and yeah some metal parts, overpriced hotas :)

This is the best Hotas system I ever used. It's worth every penny. VERY well designed. So many features that I keep discovering.
Been waiting for a practical review of this. GREAT video, and I'm gonna pick one up for sure.

Do you use the mini joystick on the throttle for strafing on SC? If so, how do you like it?

Good to know, Ty you for posting this info. I do not really use mine to much just for some off the wall binds good too know for sure.
Just an fyi to anyone reading this comment, they've updated the firmware to allow the screen button bindings to be changed

Absolutely, given they advertise it as compatible with FS it isn't, it's about as functional as a couple of wooden sticks!!

Not that I know of, I have not taken it apart to see but I suspect no
