      It is quick to load, smooth as butter even on a lower-end system, fully interactive in VR, global streaming scenery, the airliner systems are modelled enough to do a cold and dark take off and ILS approach and landing, everything just works, I've never had a crash to desktop - what's not to like?! Ok, it's missing a few key things like multiplayer, ATC, Vatsim integration, passenger loading / ground crew operations - but for a quick to jump in fix, without having to set up all your yokes and throttles and so on and so forth - I love it.

    Thanks for a nice review. Eye tracking (using a normal webcam) allows users with standard PCs to navigate through the simulator cockpit, similar to what VR offers but less immersive.
    When you turn your head or move nearer/faraway, the view of the cockpit change accordingly. This allows you use mouse to select any button/dial/switch easily. I would recommend for those who don't have VR systems yet.

  • @jacqueskloster4085
    @jacqueskloster4085 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

    we need a hybrid solution
    vr gloves (for haptic feedback) so we can use our hands to operate the cockpit and a HOTAS solution to be able to fly like a sane person. Anything that isn't a fly by wire plane, IMHO is not really operatable in aerofly FS4 with either the virtual stick or using the analogue sticks of the controllers.
    It also takes out the immersion for me.

    • @ACDC84016
      @ACDC84016 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I don't understand why some kind of hand tracking couldn't be used in headsets like the Q3. Admittedly there wouldn't be haptic feedback on switches, but it would be nice to fly with a HOTAS, but operate switches with your hands.

    The virtual hands are amazing! The immersion will be incredible as we get to use controls exactly as they are with each *specific* aircraft! The only thing that may be needed are physical rudder pedals to get the most realistic virtual cockpit flying experience. But a rudder can be easily attached via USB and the rudder is always located at one's feet anyways _regardless_ of the plane.

    I’ve had this for a while and it’s pretty good. Great if you just want a quick flight without all the hassle of the other sims. I’ve got MSFS 2020 and x-plane 12, mainly fly in x-plane. Given up with MSFS 2024 for now, will probably purchase it when the marketplace is open and more of the bugs have been quashed. I would play Aerofly more if the developers introduced real weather and ATC but I understand it’s a small development team and neither of these items are likely to be added any time soon. Apparently the flight characteristics of the helicopters are very highly praised if that’s your thing…

    Can you maybe give me some pointers how to learn and get started? Unfortunately there are no real ingame tutorials and reading guide after guide is a LOT to take in. Its very good at vr performance and has the best vr manipulation in any sim. FMs are very good too. If I miss something, then it's a better light and weather system. The current one makes it look like a 90is sim, wich is completely wrong impression. Other than that, I like it very much.

  • @dtrjones
    @dtrjones 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I think I'll stick with MSFS 2024 to be honest. Performance is great for me. 4090 and butter smooth - high settings - Quest 3. Never been a fan of VR controllers in a flight sim. I would say though if hand tracking could be implemented that would be great. Happy to use my HOTAS/Yoke and mouse and keyboard. The way I see it, it's less friction that way and the only think which would come close to being accessible would be using my hands directly onto the virtual cockpit. The thought of not using a real yoke or taking my hands off a real yoke to pickup a VR controller to interact with the cockpit doesn't feel right at all.

      4090 and VR is a good choice for msfs24?

    • @dtrjones
      @dtrjones 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@yak-machining It's definately not. I've played using a 3070 with a Quest 3 and I had it running well. Are you using VD/VDXR, motion reprojection and DLSS? Settings should be Low/Medium, but the experience should be decent.

      @@dtrjones i don't like that virtual Desktop doesn't support link cable, so no I don't use it.

Have they made some updates to this as I looked at a few other videos one from melbourne florida and one from Minneapolis they were both very blurry. Then Washington DC was very clear. I haven't moved to 2024 yet but I would definitely try this if everything was this crisp and great lighting potential. Also how I the weather coverage?

    Heard about this one but had no idea it worked so well in VR.
    Might have to check it out. The weak graphics are a double edged sword however. Much better framerates than MSFS but also much more boring looking. Being able to turn up the resolution compared to MSFS sounds great though.

    • @MrMontanaNights
      @MrMontanaNights 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I suspect that you'd get just as good framerates in MSFS2020 or 2024 if you turned the graphics down to match the ones in this. I already get 40fps in 2024 VR, but it required a good bit of tinkering around with the settings.
