You may feel as if you "struggle so much" but we all love you because you are unpretentious. I love everything you paint and you're a great teacher, Louise! Linda
How wonderful. I have my first Carolina Wren at my feeder now here in Southern Canada. Thought he died during the last cold snap in February but he finally emerged 2 days ago. I love to watch him sing and dance. Inspiring video. I will try to paint him thanks to your video!
I love your tutorials Louise. I have not tackled water colour yet but I am getting closer to having a go. I also really enjoy your bloopers at the end of each video! Thank you. Your work is appreciated
Love your tutorials~ they have given me the confidence to attempt drawing and painting birds (very hard subject for me). I can see the progress! Thank you! 🙏
Thank you for this little guy. What fun this will be to paint. I have been trying to get a photo of the little wrens that live near Snowmass , Colorado while we visit here and escape from Houston, but it is like trying to take a photo of a ping pong ball! This tutorial will keep me satisfied. I love your fairy wrens and hope to get back to Oz one day and photograph your lovely birds with so much colour and character, but for now I will enjoy your tutorials and get better at transparency. Love white ink! Takes away the fear of ahhhh lost my white feathers or whiskers.
This is an excellent video . I appreciate your attention to detail when describing how you are painting, what colors you are using, and also if applying wet, damp, dry etc. I also like the pace of your videos. You are an amazing teacher and painter! I love painting birds, so I was especially happy to see this video.
@@LouiseDeMasi welcome madam. I always watch your videos in utube and I copy some of your paintings and I keep it and planning to frame it and give it to my wife when I go back home. Your a great teacher. Thank you
So nice, delicate, and expertly realized. Also, very special to me since I live in the Carolinas, USA. Thanks as always, Louise, for your generous talent sharing.
Im a beginner to water colour painting.. and you are my teacher.. I really admire the calm and well planed painting methods of you.. I watched each an every tutorial and I have started to paint plants in my home garden.. also planning to start painting birds.. thank you so much Madam.. good luck with your future art work.. I LOVE your videos!!! Never doubt that you are incredibly talented, not only with your artwork but also with your ability to communicate in a way that others can understand. I also love the bloopers at the end of your videos. You make me laugh every time. What a gift! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hugs coming your way from Canada.
omg, be still my heart! Hope it goes on Patreon, plllleeaasee…..ohhh, I just finished watching and see it will be going to Patreon. Doing a happy dance, over the moon! Thank you thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this. I have been wanting to paint little song birds and such. I have so many different birds at my feeder. The wren in your sketchbook looks great.
Oh! Thanks so much for doing this little wren! It is native in my part of northwest Arkansas in the states. I think they are precious little gems! Love the tutorial!
Love this, thank you for the tutorial, I always have Wrens make a nest in the tree outside the front of the house and as I type this he is singing away. They are my favorite bird, now I can paint him as well.
I haven’t tried aqua board but while watching you struggle it reminded me of a painting I did on velum, the paint behaved similarly, I struggled and finished because the velum surface was beautiful in itself and made all the work worthwhile
Once again a wonderful video and gorgeous paintings. I recently discovered the existence of painted storks and thought they would look lovely as a watercolor painting, especially by you
Louise your birds are just amazing. I have so much trouble with them. I was going to say the feet are the most difficult for me but then there’s the beak and oh yes, the tail feathers. 😂. Oh well, anyway watching you paint them is magic. P.S. The outages are hilarious!
You are so great. Your painting, just awesome. Very Very beautiful. Your tips and techniques are helpful. And I am looking forward to join your tutorial classes online Very soon. Thank you. Stay safe.
So so pretty!!! I love the warm colors on the wren and the contrasting background is perfect as it's muted but still a strong contrast. I like the idea of a journal for practice. I use 5x7 Arches paper for practice as I can't find a journal with equally good paper to do practice pieces on. Etcher journals look fabulous but they are quite expensive. Thank you so much for your tutorials. Your sweet personality is so relaxing and easy to follow your directions which are so detailed. Wishing you peace and joy.
Dear Madam, What a beautiful Journal! And amazing bird painting. Even I enjoy painting birds. Apart from that I must say I enjoyed your Frog painting too (one of your earlier videos). Greetings from India🇮🇳
Once again, thank you for another wonderful tutorial. And since I'm a bird lover and bird painter I'll definitely try this one as well. Hope you are doing well.
Wrens are my favorite birds! So cheerfully industrious. And I love how the males start several nests and let the gals make the final choice. Thank you for doing this video... The struggles are real 😂😂
I love your tutorials I learn a lots from you ,thank you so much. Can you tell me what the name of your booklet that you practice on it is that Ertch ? Is made by whom? Thanks

Glorious little bird...does the ink dry out when you place it in a bowl Louise.? I assume it does unlike the Gouache which you can reactivate.
Thanks Jenny. Yes it does dry out. I put one little squirt out onto a palette.

How do you transfer your drawing on to the watercolor paper?
Ummm, like wow.
Thank you!
My struggle starts with the drawing. I adore watercolor but drawing a wren is harder than anything else for me.
Yes, I agree. The drawing of any subject is difficult. I wonder what type of pencil Louise uses for her drawings?
I have some mechanical pencils that I like to use. The graphite is 0.5mm I think.
