I’m actually very interested in hunting this area for Turkey as well as deer and I found this video pretty informational. More vids on this place would be appreciated 👍🏻
Thus far the past two weekends haven’t been good for turkey.. except this morning at Indian Valley Reservoir but the crossing of the dam, it said authorized personnel only, other wise I’d have had a gobbler… just didn’t want to get in trouble. And I’m talking about the north fork. I went to Wilson Valley today and nada but scouring out the game. Any tips sir? I can’t wait for geese season, duck, deer, squirrel, and can’t wait to go back for some big jack rabbits up Walker Road in Indian valley
I really enjoy videos of Napa and Yolo counties. I used to hike the public lands near Lake Berryessa when I lived in the Bay Area. How much has the deer population decreased since you started hunting the Knoxville Wildlife Area and Cache Creek Wilderness forty years ago? Thanks.
The deer population, the numbers have significantly decreased. I remember days When it wasn’t unusual to count 20 or 30 deer in a day. And that’s on public lands. With that said, I still believe that good bucks could be taken with enough hard work. We could also use a good two or three years of rainy weather, lol
@@CaliforniaPublicLandHunter ty ...I’m grateful for Correction! Do not look up onyx! Dark web came flying up at me! I’d never been there before ! Very strange stuff!
I'm e-scouting the area out. Planning a camping trip with some friends. Was kinda bummed there wasn't a follow-up to see if you got past the road construction.
Have you seen any signs of wild pigs in the area? I'm new to hunting and joining another guy who is new to pigs, and we're thinking of going out to that area. I know the central coast is the best bet, but hoping that we can find some good land in the area or connections to private land.
Would you ever hunt with me? If not would you be able to give me some tips on the area? No luck in Wilson valley today, I did get some this morning at the Indian Valley Reservoire, but the campground was closed for rodent eradication? I went in anyway, heard gobblers across the water but the only way to get there was across the dam. I though by the map you can hunt there? A sound said authorized personnel only so I decided not to go after them and head to the spot I went to last Sunday at the main north fork entrance at redbud trail. Also not a Cali native, I’ve lived here for 6 years now. I’m from Cajun Country in Louisiana.
Also be sure to lock up and hide valuables when using the trailheads and parking lots. Lots of shitbag tweakers coming and going from lake co to casino.

Road construction is still underway, I covered it in another Knoxville vid, the gate at the south entrance of Cache Creek is open

Are there places in cache creek sildernes where I can "target shoot" to sight in my 22 before I shoot squirrel?

Yes pigs are in the area at times, but you need to put your boots on and hike in deep..
@@CaliforniaPublicLandHunter Gotcha. Do you have any recommendations for the Napa & Sonoma Counties?
@@brandonmccallum3552 Lake, Sonoma has wild pig, but you have to boat in to get to them
I knew you were a creepy old van guy at heart.
What’d you find out about the bridge/area when you called?
Closed to vehicle traffic, hiking only,
But the north end on the Knoxville side, the gate is open, and yea, I’ve been embraced the nomad lifestyle
👍🏻

Is there good rabbit hunting there? Any areas you suggest?
I wouldn’t say good, but there are rabbits
