I've hike much of the route that you took in this video. The locals call that cabin "Roadkill Cafe". If you look through the doorway, the back wall has a Roadkill menu. The location where you camped out once had a very large bear which hung out. But I never saw any traces of it after the wildfire that came through. At the time of this filming there were two bears which hung out at the bottom of the Judge Davis trail. I managed to get trail cam photos of one of them. That area offers challenging hikes as well as wildlife - when they chose to show themselves. This video was enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your hike.
Nice quick recap of a good hiking area. For those considering it be warned that a LOT of vehicles get broken into parked overnight at the trailheads all along 20.
Great video, I've backpacked there a few times - and we had a similar experience on one trip a few hours following a game trail through 6 foot tall brush only to have the trail peter out and have to backtrack back up through the brush lol.
Nice to see you back at it. Missing you and joe videos. Made my first tarp alterations with help from your sewing videos. Stay healthy and keep them great videos coming. Cheers from a cold Sweden.
Hi Kyle from the UK Good to see you safe a d well, miss your camping/ canoe trips. I've been watching all your old videos again with everyone being on lockdown this is the closest I can get to camping. Stay safe bud great to see you again🤘
I’ve always been intrigued by that trail whenever I drive past the trailhead. to be honest I’m pretty disappointed. the rest of the landscape to the west in that region is so much more scenic and interesting
January of 2021. But that was a very low water year. Search around and find the BLM district and call them. That river is controlled by a dam. Can’t remember the name of the dam. Ask them the name of the dam and max flow levels for crossing that river. Then search around and you can find day by day flow rates on the dam which will help with trip planning.
The map overview was a nice touch. Thanks for walking through that.

I’m glad you liked it. They are easy to do so I will try to include them in future videos if people find them useful.
Nice video, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I was concerned about that. There are some access points off of 16 which is probably a little less traveled.
Nice, my home town, I'll have to check out this trail.
Good stuff! Oak savanna is beautiful.
Hey Kyle
Great adventure,cheers from Canada .
Thank you for this! I'm south a bit but its my backyard and I never thought about exploring.
Yeah check it out sometime. I have driven by many times and never thought too much of the area but it’s pretty cool.
