Yeah, the Goddess is The Morningstar(Lucifer/Aphrodite/ Athena/Artemis/ Inanna/Ishtar/ Hathor/Amunet/Venus/Lilith/ Freyja/Astarte/Shakti/Hecate/Astereth/the female part of Baphomet/The Dragon/ Leviathan/ female Satan and on and on...so many names lol.) and her Consort and twin brother/lover the "Archangel" Samael(Apollo/Shiva/Baal/Thor/Shamash/ Ra/ Amun Ra/the male part of Baphomet/Kronus/Saturn/Aries/Zeus/male Satan/Apollyon the Destroyer/Abbaddon and on.....) the main God and Goddess of all pagan beliefs. They worship the fallen watchers and other fallen angels as the lowercase g, gods. I can go crazy deeper on this ,but it would take forever. Dani Filth is a brilliant lyricist and definitely knows alot about the occult. Always great stuff!

Dani Filth has truly mastered the art of gothic black metal with amazing lyrics, vocal power, no matter which song I listen to, i'm amazed by it. You are the one who can describe with such understanding and depth the meaning of the lyrics.

Thank you. The Black Goddess Rises from Bitter Suites To Succubi version sounds so much better. If we look for most "satanic" parts in Cradle of Filth it might be Tearing The Veil From Grace from Midian along with the Satanic Mantra that is the intro to this track on the album. Another large portion of historic satanism is delivered in Sweetest Maleficia and the whole album Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder (which musically is even worse than Thornography BTW) People don't like those albums mainly because the band's old lineup broke at that time and unfortunately its really easy to hear it over there.

Funeral is my favorite CoF track.
I'd say the most "satanic" Cradle of FIlth songs would have to be most of the songs from Damnation and a Day, which describe Lucifer (Feriluce in this case) in his fall from grace and enlightenment, painting him in a positive light so to speak.
"Satanic", as you allude to, is a term that is used in the wrong way much of the time.
Any people that actually believe in a literal Satan are of course Christians or zealots of other similar religions.
Modern "satanists" simply are just following a set of rules, and don't actually believe in any paranormal stuff, although I'm sure there are small groups that do.
Other Cradle of Filth songs that are "satanic", as in to say extra-anti-Christian while also talking about believing in yourself and not from Damnation and a Day maybe would be:
Yours Immortally
Us, Dark, Invincible
And maybe Onward Christian Soldiers, just because it's about the hypocrisy of the Crusades and stuff.
As you said, Cradle really doesn't have many "satanic" songs, with Damnation and a Day being the outlier of course.
Great points! Yes, Damnation is a beautiful concept album, and the way it treats the figure of Satan/Lucifer is outstanding. I will definitely analyze something from that album. Thank for the elaborate comment.

My first album, one of my favorite songs.
I will say that in a spiritual matter, we cycle from feminine energy to masculine energy.
The monotheistic era was clearly governed by masculin energy, and we can say that before and after it will be led by the feminine.
The ying yang symbol shows the best of this cycle.
I don't know wich is the most satanic but their best song IMO is Malice Through The Looking Glass....it's so atmospheric.

That's right, it's wonderful, one of my favouriteas well! I must admit, I haven't really looked into the lyrics of Queen of Winter, but you aren't the first to mention it. I'll have to listen to it more carefully.

I love this song, definitely up there as one of my favorites from Cradle of Filth, though I'm not sure if I like this "raw" version or the "cleaner" one from Bitter Suites to Succubi more. Either way, great song and great analysis! 👍
For a satanic song, can't think of any overtly satanic songs from Cradle, but another user posted 'Tearing the Veil from Grace' from the album Midian. I think that's a good suggestion.

I too was in doubt whether to react to the "Principle" or the "Bitter Suites" version, but after listening to each a couple of times again I found this one more atmospheric even if it's not as complex in terms of sound. For the "Cruelty" album, though, I do prefer the "cleaner" Re-Mistressed version.
I think Tearing the Veil from Grace is the most popular choice, it's beautiful in terms of sounds.

The song "Тearing the Veil from Grace" is often recommended here. The song is not really about Satanism or Satan or anything like that. It's more about Nightbreed, but there are parallels, of course. Simply passed through the appropriate prism. It's about the heroes of "Her Ghost in the Fog" or... "Lord Abortion", to put it simply. But "Tearing..." is truly brilliant.
The most satanic songs are "Heaven Torn Asunder" or "Queen of Winter", I think. And "Thank God For The Suffering" + "The Smoke Of Her Burning" and many other songs from "Damnation and A Day".
And there is a whole album about mythical and anti-Christian woman. "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa".
I love the bands writing and love the whole theme live when people say he is sexist is hilarious lol.
He is not actually anti christian also he has pro Christian as well Thirteen Autumn's and an Widow the church tries to save Elizabeth. God speed and the devil's thunder album overall is not even against Christianity either. That all religions have shades of grey no religion is holier or better then another. Words by Danni himself watch interviews with guy maybe and know his actual intentions instead of theorizing don't need too the guy is still alive.
He literally is just as much against militant atheists as he is militant anything else.

The reference to the “seven stars” (15:31) might very well be a biblical one, falling precisely in line with the subject of the inversion of christian symbolism and imagery.
In Revelations 1: 12 you see the mention of the seven golden candlesticks which where in the midst of stood the Son of Man (Christ). It’s a powerful image in and of itself. Further along, in the verse 16, you suddenly find the reference to THE seven stars which later on in verse 20, the last verse of the chapter, is explained to be the seven messengers of the seven churches mentioned in the book. The seven golden candlesticks are the churches themselves.
The image portrayed in verse 16 depicts Christ holding de seven stars in His right hand whilst having a double edged sword come out of His mouth.
Maybe Dani is using aspects of this symbolism as a way of portraying what would be the ‘demonic’ or ‘inverse’ day of judgement. The unification of the congregation of devils to exact revenge upon all that is holy. It’s an interesting portrayal.
Side note…
The whole book of Revelations is a call, in the end, to persevere in the faith of Christ and in the holiness necessary for communion with God and the loving attendance of each of the churches to one another in their needs. That holiness was profoundly necessary for the church to be able to attend the needs of the poor amongst them given that it gave them the required state of heart to do so satisfactorily before God. In other words, to practice compassion without any deceit which stems from ultimately from greed and need for power. The perversion of the church has always been a constant struggle throughout the centuries.
The Principal Of Evil Made Flesh is too raw for my taste but it's a killer album. I primarily prefer the remake versions of a good portion of those songs that were released in Bitter Suites To Succubi EP. Unfortunately To Eve The Art Of Witchcraft didn't get a remake but you should definitely cover that one.
As for more satanic stuff from Cradle, I'd say what comes close to that is the Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa record. It's based on the demon Lilith.
The remakes are wonderful, too, I had trouble choosing between the original and the remake, but decided to go with this one. I especially love the remake of The forest whispers my name! That's right, I hadn't thought of Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa. Thank you!

Most Satanic Cradle of Filth song is... "Beast Of Extermination". Second most is "Yours Immortally".
Can you please check out the song "behold the kingdom of the wretched undying" by infant annihilator. I think you will have a field day with its gothic story of a religious cult tricked into commiting travesties on humanity by dark forces. As well as the interpretation of such with their sound.
