    It's been a tradition for our family to make corn pudding on Thanksgiving! Our pudding is a sweet dish! We use 2 cans of corn, one whole one cream. We drain the whole kernel corn and add it to a bowl with the cream corn and we mix some eggs and milk (can or whatever milk you want) together and add to corn. Then we add sugar and some butter mix well and bake! It's more like a souffle and very good!!! It's good to try different recipes and yours looks delicious!

    Thanks for your question. You can use a different baking dish for this recipe, as long as the volume is around 2 quarts. A 9x9-inch Pyrex dish is a good substitute. Enjoy!

    Finally a sweet corn pudding recipe. My grandma made sweet not savory. I used to know the recipe by heart, but haven't made it in so long I couldn't remember the ingredient portions.

    Advice: DONT WHISK IN CORNSTARTCH. This causes clumps and makes the corn pudding not as thick. Whisk it in with water like you normally would.

      Also never add hot melted to mix as it will curdle the eggs

    I appreciate that this recipe is presented in clear English, not some affected Southern version.

    Got this in the oven baking and just noticed that the video calls for 1 can of creamed corn while your online recipe calls for two. I guess I'll find out in about 40 minutes if two cans is wrong.

      GMO's kill off the bacteria that protect the lining of your gut/colon which causes undigested particles to leak, leaky gut, out into your bloodstream, triggering an autoimmune, allergy, response. This is why we are seeing a steep rise in allergies. As it is, I am allergic to both dairy, white salt and all wheat or anything containing gluten. We are being poisoned!

    It is hard to believe that at 400°F you do not need a bain-marie or water-bath.

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin, great point! This recipe isn't calling for a water-bath, but you certainly could bake with one to prevent the sides from over browning. Enjoy :)

    Can you substitute the sour cream with evaporated milk?

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question, SuperCHERISHED. This recipe doesn't call for sour cream or evaporated milk, just regular milk. You could substitute evaporated milk for this milk, but the sour cream might be an odd match. You can always try it and let us know how it turns out. Here's a link to the original recipe if you wish to review the ingredients: allrecipes.com/recipe/grandmas-corn-pudding/detail.aspx
