I subscribed to Porzak golf because I saw your video on there and was really confused why you weren't in any recent videos. Finally found your channel and subbed!
Mike - Another terrific video, than you for the clear and concise description here! Question:, where does or should the center of my sternum want to be at impact. Guessing ahead of the ball seeing that's where I want my low point to be? However, I've never known definitively what is ideal. Thank you again!! 🤘
Well, technically, your sternum will be pointing slightly in front of the golf ball at impact. But we really do like to FEEL like the sternum is facing at the golf ball while the hands are firing past leading our sternum through!
I hit the ball constantly in the middle or slightly lower I cannot stop doing it. I don't hit the ground 99% of the time in front or behind the ball. Please make a video that might help people with this problem. I'm in pain! Thank you
This is the best advice I’ve seen since the last video I saved, it will definitely work this time 😬 Seriously, really good contact with these tips, best yet 👍
l do hit my irons heavy taken a big divot that you can build a house in. Yesterday l was hitting balls into the net and l just happened to kind of straighten out my trailing leg by accident and l was striking the ball solid. Now l know why l hit is fat and l thought l was not swaying but l did. This is the best tip on how to avoid digging house foundations that l used to do. Thank you!
Awesome video!!! Wow. I do the one occasionally where i should stop my hands and arms on the backswing when my body stops turning but they just keep going. Really was able to feel the disconnect yesterday on the range when I did this. Question is how do the professionals get so high with their hands? Is it as simple as being more flexible in your body turn? I seem to do this more with longer clubs of course but also when I'm really focusing on starting the downswing with my lower half. The momentum of the club keeps going and then snaps back into the downswing part. No bueno.
Thanks for watching! This disconnection is one of the Common things I ever see on the teaching tee. My favorite thing to do is ask the player to take a HALF swing on there next shot and I video it. Nine out of ten times the video evidence will show the player at a full swing positon at the top of the swing….Simultaneously their jaw is dropping as they say “what!? No, that’s not really the last swing is it!?” 🤣🤣🤣 Next range session get out there and film a half swing of yours and let us know what you see! The feel versus real is incredibly different! Yes the pros are more flexible most of the time but they are also more aware of their body parts through video and mirror work. Take some of these “half” swings with a 9 iron and try to hit them as far as you can and let me know how it goes! (Hint: I know how it will go already 😁)
He’s right! The max speed of the hips is slowest of the swing, ghen the hands, and finally the clubhead moves the fastest! We have to transfer all of that power and energy from the ground to the lower body to the core to the arms to the clubhead!
Easiest was to learn short irons..7-SW is place a broken tee in the ground 1-3 inches in front of ball. Set up to tee, knock tee out of the ground and you will hit the ball on the way down istead of way up. Even better find the bottom of your swing and adjust stance for each club.
When I was learning to play, the classic teaching was to shift your weight. The result is swaying. They also said power comes from your body and the hands merely follow it. I could never figure that one out. The hands can obviously move faster.
This is a great point! Ground pressure does shift in a golf swing (much more in longer club vs a shorter club) but your “weight” or your “body” does not. The pressure shifts in the ground because you’re turning and rotating your body in the proper set up. Your upper body turns back on top of your lower body is what shifts the ground pressure vs your body moving laterally. Thanks for watching!
Maybe we can get a bleep button for you? Boom! Haha jk. Thank you for watching! I think this was the only time I got “boom” happy, but that’s what happens when you get golf ball first!! … POW!? 🤔

Ive been told by my coach that the club head moves faster than my hands. Is this true?
He’s right!

Do you link your fingers?!
Personally I interlock, but an overlap is ok and I have played with an overlap lap in the past.

No doubt about it! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I do both of these 😢 still play off 2 but just think how good I could be if I could hit an iron 😂
