- “Silent Night” was written by Franz Gruber in 1818 and first performed on the guitar by him on Christmas Eve of that year in Oberndorf, Austria. My arrangement utilizes arpeggios to create a sense of calm.

Thanks, Tomas! I agree, this ukulele has a very delicate sound. The intonation seems a bit off since my move. I might get it professionally repaired. Since it's 80 years old, you just can't find this type of tone in a newer instrument.

@@tomasericsson8720 Ah, I appreciate it! I recorded the uke part up in my room, but I recorded the singing down in the garage to give get that cathedral like echo, and hopefully a sound similar to a church, where this was first sung. Plus, it was easier to get the high notes downstairs, ha ha.

Thanks, Steven! All the credit on the tree goes to my mom, ha ha. You may be interested to know that I recorded the audio in the garage, for the resonance, and then dubbed it over upstairs so I could get the Christmas decorations in the background. This ukulele seems to have developed a bit of an intonation issue, perhaps during the move (I think the neck needs resetting) so I'm going to try and get it repaired in the new year.
