Great video kept my attention and your input and opinions and ideas intrigued me. Well done video nice job with the captions too
Thanks, Todd! I've tried to include most relevant information people have asked about strings over the years. I used to only go over a few things, show the packaging and then do the sound test, but people also want to know about playing feel, stabilization and other factors. Glad to hear I was able to accomplish that. Glad to give you a shoutout too; hope you try out this set when your Aquila wear out.
@@Josh.Vanjani I’m due string change on both guitars actually but so far I only broke a high enough string on seagull and took a string from the Martin set you gave me
You sure know your stuff!! My favorite was the “Vanjani medley”! The amount of music knowledge you have is insane. We are impressed over here!
Thanks, Dani! I appreciate it! More to come soon.
I had no idea that these existed. I hate changing strings on a classical guitar! What a great discovery!
Thanks, Robert! These would work well for you then, it makes changing a classical set more like doing it for an acoustic guitar, no knots needed. This set lasted about 3 months then dropped off, but at the price it was not a bad deal at all.
Thanks for the review, Josh! You're probably right about the best way to use these strings. Fast and convenient to replace them. For me, I guess I wouldn't like the black color since the strings are not as easy to see with a black fretboard. 😎
Thanks, Tomas! Ha ha, interestingly that's the reason I liked the black trebles. D'Addario also makes an EJ45 set with black trebles, maybe I'll try those out sometime to see if they compare. My old D'Addario review is my 2nd most successful video ever, so maybe another one could help the channel too.
Nice review Josh! These could be good for my godin’s. But they sound pretty decent on the Ramirez! Nice work
Thanks, Justin! I agree, they'd work well on the Godin, the brightness of the 80/20 would work well with the cedar top (the Ramirez is also cedar).
Great video 👍 I like the aesthetic visual and sounds!
Thanks, Mette! I appreciate it, the lighting was a bit different this time, as was the acoustic, so I'm happy to hear you approved.
@@Josh.Vanjani Sure did!
Hello Josh. here watching and supporting you.
The inclusion of Ball Ends also allows the strings to come over the bridge at a sharper angle over the saddle. The black nylon strings sound a bit like Gut strings so those could be great for really old Guitars that were made for Gut strings.
Thanks, Oscar! You're right: I've indeed seen someone use this set on a Romantic Era guitar that had bridge pins, and the lower tension is more gentle on a vintage instrument.
@@Josh.Vanjani They are a good fit for a Guitar that old
Music sounds soulful and soothing 🎵
Thanks, Dad! I appreciate it!
Sounds very good!
Thanks, Dad!
Coming to listen to this one again ❤
Thanks, Mette! I appreciate the consistent support!
@@Josh.Vanjani 😊
Thanks for the information, the sound test took a while but nonetheless thanks for the demo. You are a great player. It took too long to learn that though.
Glad to hear it was helpful! I structure my reviews in a way that goes over certain information and covers different eras of classical music so that people can potentially hear how the strings might sound with their preferred style. While a full view is always appreciated, it's never expected; feel free to scroll around and listen to the selections which best fit your own style.
Oh wow! I got a shout out!! Thanks buddy 😊
Anytime, Todd!
very good sound. good interpretation of the works
Thanks, Miguel! Glad you enjoyed!
I just bought a pack o' Ernie ball end nylons and nowhere on the pack did it say 'black and gold' but the turned out to be. Also they don't have a ball end. Issue at the factory perhaps? I didn't ask for black or ball end. The guy said half of them are a ball end but I didn't care. I didn't want black strings but they are. I don't really mind or care other than I want to know what I am getting is what I'm getting. Boohoo I feel specially selected.
How curious! Yes, that definitely sounds like it must have been a factory issue if only half had ball ends. Take a pair of wire cutters or sharp scissors and trim off the remaining ball ends and you'll have yourself a tie end set, ha ha. You're right about there being no color or material indication on the packaging; it's poor UX for sure. Feel free to let me know what you think of this set after trying them out. Good luck!
Never used ball end strings. Is there any risk of noise/buzz sounds, because the balls on the vibrating instrument?
Thanks for watching, Gelbe! No, I've not heard any noise or buzzing from the ball ends. They fit fairly tightly onto the bridge and don't touch the top at all. Great question, though, I'll make sure to address it next time I do another ball end set (I have the ball end LaBella's that Willie Nelson uses for a future review).
@@Josh.Vanjani Excellent. I have a set with ball ends here,,but never used. Maybe in the next days. Usually i play strings to long.
Since they have the ball ends would they fit on a steel string acoustic?
Sure thing, this set works well on an acoustic as well. It depends if you want a warmer tone or lighter feel compared to steel. I put a set of these on my friend's daughter's acoustic guitar because she found steel uncomfortable, and the playability was fine.
@@Josh.Vanjani The only thing I'm worried about is the neck tension being off
@@YesIsYes1969 Sure, that's understandable. This is one of the more gentle sets out there, so it has less likelihood of that versus something with higher tension, like Aquila Alabastro. Good luck!
@@Josh.Vanjani Yeah thanks man!
@@YesIsYes1969 I meat to mention this in the previous comment, but if you experience buzzing, etc. with the lower tension of the nylon, you can always adjust the truss rod. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, almost any music shop can do it.
