    High quality craftsmanship for sure. One of the best things I’ve ever bought for my shop is an evolution saw. I know they are spendy but worlds better than abrasive cut off saws. Maybe you can put a Diablo blade on that saw you have but the rpm has to be on the low side to work right. Better cuts no sparks or nasty dust, the blades last a long time. They can’t cut stainless or hardened steel tho

    • @MakeFixUpgrade
      @MakeFixUpgrade 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love evolution blades as well. I found that cutting flat stock dulls the blade though. or maybe I didn't do it right. After cutting flat stock it would no longer cut much of anything, just made the metal i was trying to cut turn red.

    • @Thadschnack
      @Thadschnack 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MakeFixUpgrade yeah if it cutting it on end it should work fine. Those evolution saw turn at 1450 rpm which I think makes the blade last. If it goes fast it will build heat and dull once it glows. I’ve gotten over a year of use out of a blade and I replaced it cuz I bent it cutting a bad angle.

    • @MakeFixUpgrade
      @MakeFixUpgrade 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thadschnack hmm that's likely my problem then, the Rigid chop saw I'm using it with spins at 3900rpm. It worked fine on mild steel square stock but the flat bar destroyed it.

    Really cool build. Looks great. I'm not expert here and I only ask to learn...it seems like the bumper is mounted to sheet metal of the truck and would just pull off if you tried to hook to the D-rings, or even using the wench would pull the bumper off. Is this mounted to a more solid part of the frame or something I missed? Again not doubting you, just trying to learn.

    • @austinniemela

    to save your winch line, get a short 5 or 10ft synthetic winch line to put on the winch in the winter time when you're using it for the plow. they're like 15 bucks off amazon and it will keep your regular winch line from taking all that abuse.

    If you soak the hot rolled steel in a tub of white vinegar the scale just falls off, but you need to treat the metal after before it rusts up
