When I ordered my 2022, it was supposed to have trailer tow routing but the feature was disabled. Hopefully they will release it for all SYNC 4 trucks with a firmware update.

Another great tutorial, will be ordering my new 450 as soon as order blanks open up.Big improvement on trailer set up over my 2020,But I wish when setting up a trailerl especially a camper , they would help you set up a Haz-Mat route. My old Garmin gps used to have that feature and was great.Especially traveling down the eastern seaboard.

You can shut off the honk when exiting my 24 Platinum I have it off. Also the FAV tab on the bottom of the screen you can change to whatever you want add or remove for faster access.

My 2017 Fusion Sport had those "adaptive headlight" (what Ford calls them). The motion sensor setting is so you can shut the door with the truck and a/c on with a dog in the truck. The alarm arms if you exit the truck with it running and take the fob with you. The speed alarm isn't as cool as you might think. It's a required feature in Europe that you have to turn off every time you get in the car. A LOT of people are complaining about it.

You don’t need to go into the menu to darken the display screen, use the button next to the Tune button for the radio. It cycles the display between regular, calm and dark.
You can turn the honk off when you get out of the truck. I turned it off on my 2024 Raptor.

I turned mine off as well, soooo much better.
You can also set Bambi mode with a obd tuner. That leaves your low beams and fog lights on with the high beams.
There is also a “police mode” that doesn’t let your running truck go into gear of the keys are not in it. Great for the store trips you want to leave the truck on.
JD you can turn off the double horn honk when you leave the vehicle while it is running.
The only problem with using the nav built into the truck for towing is that you're now stuck paying Ford for map updates. I'll keep my Garmin with lifetime map updates for this use.
I wonder if that speed limit recognization sets your cruise control based off that and what it does when there is a commercial and non commercial speed limit on the same sign like in Little Rock.
The double chirp can be disabled on a 2023 F450, but I don't remember where I in the menu I found it.

Is trailer routing only available on the top trims? I have a lariat with the ultimate package and don’t see that option.
Lots of tech. No wonder it costs so much. But I do have a question. 🙋 You mentioned about the towing program letting you where you can go and not. So is this Ford’s preprogrammed program with this truck, or do you have to download this program on your phone or get it somewhere else? I take it that there is no longer the need to use a Garmin nor your phone’s navigation system with this truck?
Not sure why you would want the door locks to open when you place the truck in park. You can already get out just by pulling the doorhandle from the inside. All this does is allow someone to get in

That's what drives me nuts about Ford's options. For instance you can't get LED headlights on an XLT. Why? They're a fantastic safety feature that should be available on all trims. Only the Lariat and up. Can't get a leather wrapped steering wheel in an XLT either. So if you are like me and like an extremely optioned truck WITHOUT leather, forget Ford. You're stuck with leather in a Lariat. Meanwhile you can option a Ram Bighorn up with every option the Laramie gets minus the leather.
You get LED with XLT now.
Came on my 24’ XL STX
Only XLT premium, which is only available attached to the sport package. Which isn’t available on the duallys. I really wanted another XLT premium when I got my 23 dually but alas, not available. The premium is my perfect package level on a truck.
Just do aftermarket LED. Cheaper and brighter. Easy...

Can you confirm if the Limited actually has the the massage seats or not. I think Ford called it multi contour or something. When I first built my F350 SRW Limited once online order was up, even the Limited I thought that was still an option. Now, I don't see anything about it on the 24 model. Maybe I am just missing it.
It’s on the limited and platinums for sure. May even be on the KR.
The ability for the navigation to account for trailers shouldn't just exist on vehicles with a hitch. It should exist for Google Maps and other navigation apps as well as GPS units that aren't built into the vehicle from the factory. I wouldn't use the power function of a tailgate unless I have a shoulder, arm, wrist, hand, or finger injury. If a vehicle has adaptive cruise control, I'm setting it to three or four seconds MINIMUM. Safety first. I also think vehicles with cameras that can see all the way around should function as dashcams and send footage to your phone or computer.
So they might as well just get away from the lariat and King Ranch packages if they’re just making them XLT’s with leather
My 2024 F-450 does not do the double honk when I exit while the engine is running. My 22 F-350 DRW does the honk. There has to be a setting for it somewhere.
Yes, it is called “Key Detection Alert”. It is in vehicle settings. It’s right under max idle time.
Isn’t the audible chirp the honk if you close the door while the truck is running?
Yes. If the keys are in your pocket. Turned it off on my 2017 F250 👍🏼
Do both of your power running boards extend when you open one door from either side? My 2024 does. Ford said they can’t change it.

JD I just purchased an F450 limited this last weekend after waiting for 4-5 months. Great truck, however, I was surprised to notice a piece of paper in the glove box that said the truck was not recommended for bed mounted slide out RV's. Any idea why this is?
That's interesting, I've not seen that. I'll have to look around. I do know, if you do not opt for the camper package then the truck may not come with a slide in camper certification.
You have to get the camper package (heavier front springs) to be certified for it.
Your F450 will probably handle one just fine but you might get in trouble if you get pulled over and subsequently dragged into court.
If you go over payload, do you think Ford has that information sent to them ?
Sent to them? Doubtful... Checked while getting a warranty claim done? Probably. Cars have been proven to send driving data to insurance companies which in turn have denied coverage for people

The bad thing about a $100,000 truck it’s out of date by the time you get it! Just like your computer! These trucks are computer controlled! I have never ever ever had a computer that didn’t need a technician work on it after a year!!
