    I’ve been running helibars for years. All the time you waited you’ll wish you had them sooner. No neck pain and hands falling asleep. Stock clipons were also hurting my knees somehow. There’s a ton of guys that are against them and say they prefer the aggressive angle. I just smile knowing old age will catch them soon as well 😁

    Heli bars saved the day on my 2019 R1 and 2024 ZX6R, just hate the downward angle for street riding and is much better now😎

    Love what you’ve done with the bike. Curious why you chose the r1 over the s1000 or Ducati v4? I am about to buy a 21 R1 because of Yamaha reliability ! Have fun be safe

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got it because the price was right for what you get. The Ducati V4 is cooler and maybe a little faster, but it would have been like $5k more, and everything for it, and service, would be more. Just not worth it. If I went Ducati, I would have gone with the Panigale V2...

    • @TrickRacing
      @TrickRacing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SquireSCA exactly my thought, you can service the r1 yourself where the Ducati or s1000rr have to be taken in for some maintenance. Yamaha is more reliable and looks and sounds amazing thats why I’m leaning toward buying the 2021 r1 here in ohio

    Thank You for the review.Much appreciated and needed.Also the oil.I was using motul 300 on my street bike.I normally change the oil at 3000 miles rhough.I will be switching to the 7100.Thanks again.One more question.Are the rearsets adjustable if not are they in a comfortable position?what kind of tune should I get to smooth out the Jerry throttle?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rearsets are not adjustable, but you can buy ones that are. Comfort is completely subjective, so I can answer that for me, but not for you.
      Lots of good ECU flashes out there but Moore Mafia has done several of my bikes now, and I am very happy with Chris and Mike. Ride it in B mode, and get a Flash that is made for whatever exhaust and setup you have, and have them disable the O2 sensors, the fuel cut and stuff and it will smooth it out.

      Thank You again.I delt with Chris Moore before.So far all your responses have been well received.I ordered the R1 60th anniversary.You gave me great insight and understanding which able me to come to my decision.I agree with everything you said.I am in N.J so I may deal with Chris again or try Bauce racing so I can get a tune specifically for my bike.Not sure.Chris is a great guy.You do a great job.Thank You.

    Does it make low speed maneuver (stop and go traffic) more easier ? more comfortable ? I consider to get this in my R6(2020) as well. Not sure that if I order the same one as on the R1 will it fits or not because it has the same forks. Thank you for you reply in advance : )

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I feel like it does, because you are slightly more upright. When you are moving fast, you are leaned over and you lean the bike more than steer. In the driveway or a parking lot, you are more steering than leaning, and so having bars that are more up, back and a tad wider, does make those situations a bit more easy and stable.

    Thank for the information on the helibars. I have another question for you if you don't mind. I notice you said they're easy to install and are pre-drilled. When you Bolt them on do they have a notch to be aligned correctly? So they are at exactly the same position on the left and right side. Or do you have to align them yourself?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do have to align them yourself, but that allows you to move them around a bit, to find whatever position is most comfortable.

  • @tootjr
    @tootjr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with you , I have them on my 750 , they deff.help the wrist. Its the ass that starts to keep me moving around in the saddle after a hour. of riding. That is a really nice color combo on your new ride 👍

    To my knowledge yes it is but things change after covid.Whsts the difference between a and b mode?I would think A full power and B calm

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A and B are both full power modes. The differences are lower down... The power comes on slower at low throttle positions... but slam the throttle to 100% and it instantly delivers 100%. The difference is around idle and in the mid range...
      Power is the same. Have you ever installed a quick turn throttle before? The quick turn doesn't make more power, but it takes less twist of the wrist to get to the power... so it FEELS sharper and more responsive, at the expense of smoothness...

    Hey Squire, I have a 2021 R1 with the Helibars as well. I think you mentioned it in your first video, but I had a problem with the lack of adjustability for the clutch lever, as I could not push it down far enough to where I wanted it, I dont want to be reaching up for my levers. I can see it pushed up on yours as well, so im assuming you ran into the same problem. Its actually a slight problem on the brake side as well, just not as bad. Anyways I contacted Helibars and talked to one of the owners, super nice guy. They are now aware of the problem, and made him few videos explaining the situation, photos etc. You may want to reach out to them because they are making some rolling changes.

    Who else besides me sorely wishes that manufactures would offer a relaxed ergo version of their sportbikes? If you ask me there is NO good reason a bike cant have a full faired sport bike look AND more relaxed ergos....just make the fairing a tad taller and maybe make the forks a couple inches longer simply so they could pop up above the top triple and clamp the clip ons up there! ya know? Then either adjustable rear sets or slightly relaxed to go with raised bars....no not as comfy as a naked but livable! I just hate that all we have to choose from is too tall to much travel adv style bikes like the S1000XR which i KNOW a lot of people THINK they want but then trade em in shortly (just look how many are on the used market!) so the only other choice is radical beast full on wrist kill or a naked bike....just aggravates the hell out of me...oh AND the RR version of whatever manufacturer are always a LOT more money! I finally went with MT-10 because the R1 lacks comfort features and I really dont want track type power delivery what I WANT is the MT-10 in higher cockpit R1 bodywork and adjustable rearsets ...I would have chosen S1000R but they dont have frame mounted headlight so a windscreen is like a sail mounted to forks....second choice WOULD have been the lovely Triumph Street Triple 1200 which has frame mounted headlight but silly configuration makes a simple good looking windscreen impossible judging by aftermarket ....and the cafe RR version of that bike which COULD have been the ultimate answer? Triumph for some bizarre reason gave it total road racing wrist killing ergos with ZERO fairing clearance for taller bars/or bar risers and zero extra control line length to accomodate taller bars ANYWAY! Way to screw up Triumph! dang I would have for sure bought that othewise awesome bike! and will they fix it? 3rd year says NOPE

    • @SquireSCA

      I would imagine that if their marketing research showed interest, they would? I agree with you, but a lot of guys want the "race bike" even though they are slow, will never track it and they just blast down the highway... See it all the time, they think they are fast till you put a turn in front of them...
      Then you have guys that ride track and like that ergo package...
      Then you have people like us that rode them for many years, but age and wisdom has pushed us towards bikes like the Speed Triple, Tuono or MT-10... The latter, is what I currently have... brand new, heated grips, tall wind screen... Exhaust and ECU flash... I basically made it into an R1 for the street, light touring and occasional track day. It does everything well.
