Thank you so much for this video. Was able to follow everything on my 2027 Mazda 6 GT, (left hand drive Canada), as this problem started showing up about two months ago for me. Ridiculous that Mazda doesn’t take responsibility. FYI, to keep the bolt from falling out of my socket I used a bit a painter’s tape around the end and just slightly covered the bolt to prevent it from falling out. Again, fantastic video!
Great tip,! I will remember that one! Hope you are loving the 6 such a great transmission and yours must have so much power. Does the turbo still have idle stop start? I just disabled that feature on mine.
@@inzp3ctor Mine is the non turbo model and thankfully it doesn't have that horrible stop start which I wish they would eliminate from all cars as it does nothing but wear your engine out faster.

No worries but just want to mention a couple of mistakes I made. Instead of starting in the passenger side it’s best to start with the drivers side and remove the small cover over the speedo first to make trim removal easier. And then other mistake I made was disconnecting the first switch. I was using pliers but probably just needed to push on the tab with a screwdriver or tent peg so you don’t mangle the plastic if that makes sense
At 2:20 if you want to know how I did this at 2:20 please note that at 2:20 you can see how I did this with my bare hands at 2:20 Goodluck and thanks for your support
I just did this last week and it fixed all the issues ..... HOWEVER!! Doing this will disable the navigation system.. Also there IS A SERVICE BULLITON on this where MAZDA will replace the screen. If you have done the above procedure MAKE SURE you reattach the cable before you bring it to the dealer!!
Disable the Nav? This fix makes the nav usable again. Is yours Mazda 6 GL 2016? There is no bulletin (recall) here in Australia. I assume you are in USA? Yes good point about reattaching. Don’t want Mazda to know you care about money and functionality. Let them pretend you are rich and confused
Interesting! How is this not a recall? I have the same issue and dealer wants $500 but I don't know if I'm comfortable taking the dash apart. Sigh. Thanks for your video.
I think there is a recall in the USA but not Australia. That’s poor form from Mazda. I cut my hand once. I should have used better tools. It’s doable. If you’re not comfortable don’t do it
Where do you live? I’m in Australia. I found this screen in front of me on the dash, a bit to my left. But if you are in America it won’t be there. It will be in front of YOU on the dash, a bit to your RIGHT. Also if you watch the entire video instead of skipping the beginning you will instantly see where the screen is in the car that I recycled. Hope this helps, together we can beat the ghosts if we combine our power!!!
Yes I’m in America. For my car I needed a replacement digitizer with the ribbon cable however I don’t think the sell the one I need here. I’ll have to order a used screen instead of just that digitizer. Mazda doesn’t sell it for the 6’s in America for this generation. Thanks mate !
I'm in Australia too, can I please ask where I can find where to buy the Mazda 6 screen digitizer? I can only find Mazda 3, CX5 and cx9 on AliExpress for a reasonable price and it's killing me!
I grew up ignoring Mazda. I only liked Hondas and Toyotas. But after my GFs Golf broke down too many times she wanted a Mazda because they look like BMWs. Who am I to argue with that. Now we are hooked
Wow that’s cheap!! We had a 3 then changed to the 6 a couple years later. Just wondering if I want the turbo 4cyl but don’t want to sacrifice the amazing efficiency
so glad this video helped you@@Wansky006 some people are telling me fixing things yourself is crazy because the dealership can do it for you. but these people have too much money.
Yes you can buy just the digitiser from china, like AliExpress if you want to maintain the ability to touch the screen. This video is about disconnecting the digitiser from the display and using it like a traditional monitor
This video helped me out so much and got it all done in an hour or so. You’re the man!
Yes it’s a nice 1 hour job and once it’s done you can really enjoy the radio and the navigation again. Enjoy your car again. Well done!

Lay down a small rag or old shirt to catch the bolt from going down into the dash
Thank you so much!!! The ghost was driving me insane! You saved me 800 dollars!
That’s great news!
I bought i new screen digitizer touch from aliexpress for 13 dollars and that solved my ghost touch and functionality touch
great tip here, thanks for sharing! if you love using touch screen, that is a great solution!
Any chance you can link the digitiser screen you bought? I'm having no luck finding a Mazda Specific one.
Please send me a link for mazda 6 7’ screen
