Gwyn Newman's old corner shop at 1:10. First place I ever saw a color tele, behind the counter for tbe benefit of his numerous Bargod grammar customers. But he was a commonwealth games weightlifter. I remember him taking three of us to a weightlifting class in Abertysswg about 1970.
All very well and good remembering the past and paying tribute to miners, but look what has replaced that hard, proud working environment: tattoo shops, nail bars, beauty parlours, hairdressers who can't use scissors, cafes, gambling premises, empty buildings, decay, decline, disorder. Bargoed has sadly lost its way.

My aunt lived in aberbargoed,she had a tiny house 2 up 2 down, she passed away in the 60s, God bless her.🏴🤲

The statue, wow. We all know how badly the miners were treated whilst trying to save their livelihoods.
