You know I don't know how we are going to reclaim our lost skills and artistry that was lost 300 years ago... Since the colonisers demolished the skilled people our people and our economy.... I mean we can reclaim the 27% economy easily with time but I don't know if the lost smiting and looming skills as well as the ship building skills are lost and there is no particular book or anything from where we can reclaim what was ours.... The Britishers didn't take our knowledge or skills they simply destroyed it....

    • @death_parade

Skill, culture and knowledge can be snatched away or destroyed. India's history is a case study on how it is done. And India's recent history (since 1947 onwards) is a case study on how NOT to go about restoring our lost legacy.
Fact of the matter is, we can't reclaim our past position by only trying to reclaim our lost skills and knowledge. Our search for our past must be combined with a relentless pursuit of futuristic knowledge and skills. Yes, must seek out old knowledge and compare our current selves with that, but we shouldn't emulate it. Times have changed, so we need to re-invent much of it.
Our ancestors made India that Sonchiriya that we were proud of. And if we are their true heirs, if we are the true heirs of Bharat and of our ancestors, we *_MUST_* create another Golden Age from scratch, because most of what we achieved in the previous Golden Age has been lost/looted/destroyed. And to create another Golden Age, we need to seek out futuristic knowledge CREATION and skills.
And doing so requires us to work harder than our ancestors. And hardwork alone is not enough. It requires us to make hard decisions as a civilization. We all love to pretend about how India never attacked another nation in its entire history. How we are peace-loving people. But our ancestors were not peace loving to such an extent as we imagine. Bharat of the Golden Era was not created by non-violence. Cholas did not establish their Empire in peace alone, nor did Mauryans keep the Greeks at bay through peace alone.
Our ancestors followed had their own principles governing warfare and they lived by those principles, but most important of all, *_they KNEW what to fight a war for_* . Today, we don't even know what we are fighting for. We have this nebulous "idea of India", but it is NOTHING compared to the stern principles and structured, clear and precise thinking that our forefathers had codified into the Vedas, Upnishads, Puranas and Samhitas.
Most Indians today lack a *UNIFIED* CLEAR VISION OF THE FUTURE. We are merely coasting along, drunk on the achievements of our forefathers.
Look at USA and its achievements. That is who we need to out-compete and outclass through sheer competence. Do you think our current system of victimhood that propagates mediocrity under the guise of Social Justice will ever allow us to achieve that level of competence? No. Never.
Unless ALL OF US decide what we want and what we _are_ and what should India stand for. Our ideas and answers to these questions are too self-contradictory and not clear enough right now.

We've been reduced to cheap labour workforce of the West. The wealth is your 5th largest economy is so unevenly distributed it is not even funny. Our ancestors crafted fabrics and products that were unmatched across the globe. We sit in a cubicle and write code for American clients for pennies because an American would take 4x for the same work, if not more. The Indian companies we boast of are either foreign funded or are registered in New Jersey. We could have been so much more!

The UK is experiencing slower economic growth, currently just 1% annually in real terms. This slow growth can be attributed in part to historical factors, such as colonial exploitation. Looking ahead, by 2047, the British economy may appear as an ant compared to India's, which is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world today.

There is a direct correlation between how the British lost control of the 13 colonies in the Americas and India which was just about coming under British rule bore the brunt. Marquess Cornwallis surrendered to the American and French in Yorktown in 1781.
In 1785, he was made the Governor- General and Commander-in-Chief, and sent to India. In India, he set the land revenues to a Permanent Settlement with the locals irrespective of how the harvest or rains had played.
He further took a personal interest in engaging with any kingdoms who had an alliance with the French almost as a vengeance for what he suffered at the hands of the American Colonies and French. India was used to offset losses from America.

We don't and never needed sympathy from people around the world just like you guys said we are good-natured and humble and that's why we were taken advantage of by The British (the thieves), what we want is just like how people remember Hitler's atrocities against The Jews, people also must remember the atrocities faced by India by the British. India is still an economy that no country can ignore. We are going to be the largest economy in the World anyway.

Moral of the story united we stand divided we fall and Britishers were too good to break indians into caste, creed, language, region, culture, race etc.,.The word caste is also not indian and britishers coined this word as if it was originated from india bcoz of which especially majority hindus got divided. And the saddest part is there were some indians who sold their soul to serve the interests of the britishers and helped Britishers to exploit, loot, colonise india. But the biggest irony is supremacist, egoistic, condescending colonial masters west lectures india about democracy, freedom, free speech, expression, human rights, morality, ethics etc.,👀🤔

Please react to the movie GHAJINI! It's an epic love story cum thriller, and Aamir Khan is the hero of the movie alongside Asin (a South Indian actress, who also starred in the original GHAJINI movie)! The movie is such a rollercoaster of emotions and will make you love Aamir Khan even more with his strong character!! The twist of events that take place can give you goosebumps! There's so many anxious and putting-you-on-the-edge moments!🔥

British rule's history in India is heart-wrenching. but nowadays people seem to forget it, their focus is again on religious issue and Islamic invaders. We can't deny that they were also quite horrible but no one has been worst than Britishers for India. but since UK now provides exciting foreign destination for living or work for many Indians, also ties are suitable for modern situation while nations of Islamic invaders doesn't much offer to Indians in terms of lifestyle, technology, trade etc, also it's complicated becoz of religious differences. many of those rulers has been from Central Asia with whom we have much better relation than Middle East region who export even terrorism or extremism in India.
another major issue for India, the creation of Pakistan who has been horrible neighbour for India for past 75+ yrs is result of Britisher's doings.
I just wish Indian don't stray away from right focus, our enemies are many; let's not put blanket label instead see the right causes with focus. apart from external, internal enemies also lies within our society who is becoming stagnant without any direction in development, innovation, and welfare.

British very well successfully contaminated and destroyed our academia, education system, artistry, martial arts, all ancient skill developing and learning centers, textile and handloom industry, infrastructure, social fabric, manipulatively fostered things on us by shaping that we are wrong and they are the civilized and better ones, and socially engineered our psyche to become weaker failure instead of the fighter and spirited we much more originally were. There are official letters of high ranking british officials available on internet where its openly written and suggested that enslaving India through physical power is not possible, we have to use ruin and plunder attack their value system, original education system, anything that they take pride in and pervertly tarnish it. One main official is - Lord Macaulay- read his British parliament address where he said all this, available on the internet openly in picture, one Google search and you get it. And this is nothing, if you leave aside British (200 yrs) and go the earlier numerous Islamic Invasions on India, its way more brutal terrifying horrible. Continuous Invasions for 500-1000 yrs. Just imagine.
