Don't know why Americans think India doesn't have health insurance ... India has insurance - optional- as well as subsidized govt healthcare.
Anyone working in an organisation over 50 people has to be provided medical insurance from their employer (this extends to spouse and kids and at times parents too)
The annual premium for an individual policy with all inclusive coverage (no co-pay) is between $60 to $600 depending on age and with a basic coverage of 100k (which is sufficient to cover even the biggest surgeries here)
Also the logic of it's cheaper outside the city applies here too - the prices she's comparing to are also prices in high cost of living cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru. Not in smaller towns.
On the contrary here govt is working to create avenue for employment in these smaller towns to reduce the population migration to cities for employment..
Yes like she says we aren't perfect - but I would rather work hard here and contribute to make my country better than go to another country and contribute to theirs...

One thing I want to point out, even with insurance Jaby said it cost around $150 where as in india it will be around Rs. 2500-3000 without insurance (including every possible test that can be done with blood. Full body checkup Rs. 3500 (including ECG). I saw one video showing how the pharmacy billed people with 70% extra amount on the bill (which insurance companies don't need to pay) for insured people. We have health insurance in india and we know in india out of pocket is 51% and in us is around 18% but still a night stay in us is 2800$ and in india is 36$ so you can still calculate 51% of 36$ and 18% of 2800$ , its a huge difference still .

Every single person in Australia is covered by Medicare. That’s every single Australian citizen, permanent resident, and even some eligible temporary residents - regardless of age and employment status. I could be unemployed but I could still visit a doctor, get blood tests, X-rays, CT-scans done and be covered for basic hospital care for FREE.

Most of the Government Medical facility in India give free treatment or for a moderate and minor health problems is less than 2$.
If you are having diabetes or something more serious which needs really good health care you are good to go with insurance.
My personal opinion is American health care for simple test and consultancy (In 652$ / 52k INR you can get 5-20 session in India

Jaby is pissed and so defensive about America.. we get it Jaby.. its love for our country that matters. Everyplace has their issues.. in America may be healthcare is very expensive but in India its cheap but very traditional. Comparing countries is good and should be done from time to time to atleast get a clear picture when taking serious/lif changing decision.

There are multi layered living in India. So Homeless and a Billionaire can live their life without stealing anything from anyone. Different level of Shopping, travelling, enjoyment, healthcare, education is available for all. But in America one has to spend some fixed level of amount to get these facility which a poor can not. In America, Poor people can not go to watch movie in theaters, or purchase clothes. but in India they can.

Depends on what you compare with. If you live in Mumbai versus a much smaller town in India, the cost difference is probably more drastic than between SF and a small town in the US.

The US system is unique because you cannot see ANY doctor without insurance. The cost of services is too high. That was shown in the video - even a simple consultation or blood test will set you back so much if you don't have insurance. Most countries have lower cost healthcare options and we don't have that option here.

Jaby you got to consider majority not just some exceptions to have a maid, a cook and nanny in 150K$ on the other hand we have maids in the houses who make 50 K a month or even less in most of the towns that's like 6LP.A and that is 8000$ a year household.

I think Jaby missed the whole point of the Medical Expenses. Medical Insurance is a global concept. Almost every country has Health and Life Insurance. We India too have pretty good Health Insurance. But that is not the point. The Doctor's Fees was above 600 Dollars. Whether you pay or insurance company pays, it is exorbitant.

like if you are in newyork thats a different vibe altogether..you have to adjust to it..duh....yes bro exactly ...we get it but that's something wrong...thats the whole point...if we go by jaby's logic then we can justify every wrong thing...bcz that's how things are at that place so its not wrong......🥴😵😵‍💫
