moti- means pearl ...in hindi we have 2 letters for "t" sound..first one 'ट' that exactly sounds like the pronunciation of 't' and is used to create those sounds like you do with 't' and the other letter which is pronounced without folding the tongue... 'त'. in india.. we have more words with the second letter. It is widely used in all different languages.
The 't' in Moti (pearl) sounds like the T in 'Thread', not as in 'Tomato' basically
And if you pronounce the 't' in "moti" like 'tomato' then only it means Fat (feminine)

I went to Thailand twice, once in a really local restaurant where all the older friends gathered and had the best food in Thailand to date. That was in Phuket; similarly, a not-too-fancy restaurant had the best food in Bangkok.

I suggest you to read about Awadh and its Cuisine. You will get to know about all sorts of unique preparation techniques. Practioners and experts of these can only be found in the region of Awadh. We awadhis have totally different method of preparing dishes and our terminoligies are also quite uncommon. For example: dum par rakhna, deg/pateela chadana, pyaaz baghaarna, chas daalna(stickiness, generally infused in paya, nehaari, seeri and yakhni pulao), bawarchikhana(kitchen), chawal pasana(eject water out of the rice using markin ka kapda(equivalent fo muslin cloth)) etcetra etcetra. My belief as an Awadhi is that nothing is capable of competing the uniqueness of Awadhi cuisine.

7:09 the man they showed their imtiaz qureshi his whole family comes from generation of cooks that have been cooking for kings since the mughal days and imtiaz qureshi i s himself a culinary revolutionary of sorts , because of him dum phukt tradition of cooking was revived and went mainstream , when ITC hotel( famous 5 star chain) group hired him he had all the fancy utensills in the kitchen thrown out and went and for full copper utensils and he told the management then that if they try to cook indian food without the proper utensil the food is gonna taste like crap , and also he sort of invented vegeterian dum dishes when he was asked to prepare a vegetarian meal for indias first prime minister where he used bottle gourd and jackfruit to replace fish and chicken , gordon ramsay cannot be compared to him , that man is actually a legend and not just a celebrity chef

hey Achara, the question you asked in beginning of video about meaning of the name of hotel "Moti Mahal", yea you are right about the "Moti" meaning 'fat' but here it refers to 'pearl' as pearl is also called 'Moti' in India. So if you were to convert that hotel's name in english it would translate to 'Pearl Palace'. hope it helps 😊
