Just one thing I'd add is that Avi & Mitch were supposed to do a bit of a singing battle....You'll see when Mitch faces Avi and points to him...lol but as you can hear Avi's bass is distorted because of his earth shattering super ridiculously low bass lol.

Mitch + Jet Leg + 2 chugged Red Bulls = the most insane live performance in history.
The story of this video: the previous song featured Kevin on cello, so he was backstage putting the cello away during the operatic intro. Earlier in the show, Mitch had been suffering from jet lag, so he drank two Red Bulls back-to-back during a backstage break. Kevin returned to the stage just as Avi hit that low note that first started the downfall of the Star Vista's sound system. Then, right as the first notes of Aha were being sung, Mitch's Red Bulls kicked in and he proceeded to go completely INSANE on stage, while Avi continued to JOYOUSLY shred the sound system in the background. And thus you have the live performance that most Pentaholics consider to be the absolute best of Pentatonix's career...made all the more legendary because it appears to have only been captured by this fan video! BTW, the person who shot this video actually shot the whole concert, and it's well worth the watch, even if you don't react to any of the other songs.

There is a reason Pentaholics try to tell people that they need to be ready for this video. Nobody is ever really ready for it, but at least you've been acclimated to Mitch enough that your brain doesn't implode.
I try to tell that to other Pentaholics on the videos of the newbies just starting down the rabbit hole 😆 I've heard this performance as instead of being Mitch-Slapped, it's Mitch-Punched.
Mitch! Avi! This is the video I tell people to watch when they question PTX’s ability to do live what they record. Not only Mitch’s range but his control. He truly is amazing. And the expression on your face-perfect! Thanks for doing this!

Mitch was on fire in this concert! The videos of Break Free/See Through (Avi also takes off in the second half here) and Telephone at the same concert are also worth seeing

I love the way Kirstin loves Mitch and his vocals so much. Since the Sing-off up until present day, she talks about how much she loves to hear him sing.
One of their earliest interviews after winning the Sing-off she talked about crying about how happy she was that everyone got to see how amazing he was.
When she was interviewed about the bonus tracks for the Lucky Ones she talked about Anchor being her favorite song because Mitch sounds like an angel on it.
I kind of wish I could have seen Scott's face when Mitch went to the floor. I mean, Scott has a record of forgetting he's supposed to be singing during Mitch's *normal* performances. What was he thinking in that moment? I mean, besides "maybe we shouldn't have let him have that second Red Bull".
I've got to go back and watch it again now -- I never noticed that!
This was the first video of Mitch hitting an A5. If you ever watch any of the older compilations for Mitch's range, this used to be it. Now he has a few different songs with intentional A5s in the studio recordings and a Bb5 in the background harmonies in Superfruit's Deny U.
Literally just had to pause Mitch/Messer's solo song "Angels Pray" to be able to watch this one...Here we goooo! 😂
The amount of times Ive paused Mitch to watch more Mitch is probably not healthy.

One thing that I think often gets overlooked is right before that first "Mitch slap" high note is the beautiful and precise little run he does leading into it.
God yes, he has some often overlooked runs that I find legendary, one in Can't hold Us, one in Can You Feel The Love Tonight, and one in the Rihanna medley for starters.
LOL at your reaction. Mitch was on fire that night. Their performance of Telephone from that same concert was 🔥 too.
I saw Mitch replicate this epicness live at a concert a year after this was recorded. He probably did this 100 times in a row. He's a vocal beast!
Every time I see someone react to this I can't help but think of Sara's comments on Love Lockdown. There is something about a live performance when you are all in the "moment". Everyone there was in the "moment". Much love and keep on keepin on J.

Woo hoo! It's here! The fan who recorded this was infatuated with Mitch! That would totally have been me recording! They have been called aliens many times or otherworldly. Especially Mitch! The person who record this record many other songs from the same show. Mitch was sooooooo high its funny to watch him bounce around non stop. Apparently a couple of red bull drinks to fight jetlag are tje cause of that super performance!!!!

Oh, your face at the end there was priceless. The expression of shock and betrayal when you looked at the camera. "Y'all told me I was ready *I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS* !" I'm so glad you followed everyone's advice and waited, because this was totally worth it.

Wow you must be good. Your bouncing and facial expressions pulled my attention from Mitch performing. Not many people can take away my Mitch focus. I love seeing people see this for the first time and I’m so glad you did the official video first so you can see the comparison of video to live performance. They’re so good live. I bet you’ll have the best time. I hope they do carol of the bells. Mitch shines in that too and his breath control is crazy. Making Christmas is another fun one were they get theatrical. Which now that it’s October you can react to that since it’s a mix of Halloween and Christmas. Hopefully you can react to a bunch of their Christmas music before your concert so you’ll be familiar with their arrangements. They’re masters of Christmas music. We’ll all music actually.

I had to pause the tv to get to this the minute you posted it.
*cough* I hate to say it, but there is a video with better sound, and it shows Kevin. Mind, I just said better sound. The reason why it's not a good replacement for this video, is because it didn't feature on Mitch and so missed the whole reason that this video is the ultimate Mitch slap of Mitch slaps. It missed pretty much everything, or the person editing the film decided that it wasn't worth it. Can we call them the biggest idiot of all time?
Once you see them LIVE! you can never go back. Two times and counting, waiting for them to come back to my area.
I remember when I first saw them perform this back in 2012.. and my hair physically shook when Avi sang that part in the begging. Totally felt it in my chest too. It was dope!!!!

I can't prove the story that Mitch was jet-lagged and had 2 Red Bulls prior to this performance but it sounds credible to me. Their travel schedule is crazy so jet lag is certainly possible. They had Red Bull on their riders so it was there. and Mitch has previously commented on having 2 coffees, 1 expresso, and half a Red Bull so drinking 2 Red Bulls seems like something he might do, at least back then.

When you do finally see them live you will be emotional the entire night. The energy and emotions at their concerts are like no other artist I've ever encountered.
I know you're always looking for the lesser known PTX songs. Silent Night is severely underrated. IMO, it is their best live performance. Done in a church, the echoes and reverb are stellar. It literally sounds like angels are singing. And, as always, headphones are a must. Avi and Kirstie steal the show for me. PLEASE REVIEW! ❤ your reactions!
yup That's the mitch-slapped face. The amazing thing is also the background vocals from Kirstie and Scott, the driving beat and the base that supports that amazing mitch-slapping performance. I've seen other performances of this song, it's amazing every time. But Mitch was definitely in the zone for this performance. :) Thank you for sharing your reaction. If you want a live performance with great camera/audio then their Popspring performance is great. Filmed for MTV I think.

With Avi being a basso profundo, (he can sing an entire octave lover than the standard for basses) and Mitch's counter tenor, they both are singing in their personal comfort zones. The highest of highs, and the lowest of low. AMAZING

You need to react to mitches vocal range, it’s the axel one, he can do whistle notes which are crazy insane.
I have been waiting for this since I subscribed, but it’s definitely something you need to build up to if you don’t want to have a coronary on those high notes. My favorite part is the smile on Mitch’s face right before the video cuts. He knows he KILLED it.
I hit the play button so fast as soon as the notification popped up! It is worth it (no matter how many thousands of times watching this) to witness this performance!

I left my Hoof GP video to see this reaction. It was worth the wait to see your reaction. I think one of the things I makes this so special is the recorder’s focus on Mitch. In some songs like the official Aha! you hear beautiful high voices, but it lacks the focus of That is MITCH hitting those high notes. He was seriously on that night. Poor boy only has a SIX OCTAVE range.
Your next live Mitch slap should be when Pentatonix did the Star Wars medley.
I'm 😄 at your Mitch slapped face 😲. Yeah the official video is cool for seeing them do a rare acting video & getting to know the song, but now you see the difference in the live show! Not downplaying the others because of course the song wouldn't be complete without them, but the live performance of Aha is basically just showing off how Avi & Mitch could've both been opera singers. They are the 2 stars in this song. The way Mitch's beautiful clear high notes & Avi's super low bass play off each other well is taken advantage of in other songs of theirs, but here you see the full effect.

I always say we should prepare reactors for this particular video (yes, this is the one recommended) but honestly there is NOTHING in this world or the next that truly prepares you for Mitch Overload.
Look for other concerts for this though. It's fun to watch Scott's reaction.

Yeah, the device couldn’t handle it… but neither could the venue’s sound system, so we can hardly fault the fan’s device. 😅
I absolutely love this performance. And the crowd! I get so happy and almost teary-eyed when they explode for both Avi and Mitch. I just wish the person had trained the camera on everyone equally because Kirstin and Scott and Kevin were also on top of their games here. 💯 However, I'm still forever grateful that this recording exists.
